Oliver James Stevens I’m quite spoilt so my parents got me a 2013 bmw 1 series as my first car. Whereas my friends have Ford fiestas and Vauxhall Corsas
I heard that as well and agree with it. My mate hired one recently and we were expecting something like a Golf or Focus the way these guys go on about it. We both thought it was a pile of rubbish, no way in the same league.
Mazda, please give carwow a new Mazda 3 to review. It looks so amazing and has such great reviews from every other journalist. Why won't you lend one to Matt!!
I've got the BMW 120D with xdrive, fantastic car, switched up from a Volkswagen polo and it's like day and night, very quiet cabin, amazing driving characteristics and top notch quality! I'd reccomend it to anyone who prioritizes the driving experience more than the slightly reduced practicality over some of it's competitors.
Drove a diesel focus from northern germany to austria on the autobahn (1173 kms), almost all the way pedal to the metal, very comfortable for a 193cm (6'3") height. Stopped once to pee and drink quickly. Average speed of 170km/h, tops around 210. Not bad ford, not bad
I also drink my urine J L! People often criticize it because it's "disgusting" and it could make my breath smell of wee. However, I had found that my urine actually tastes better and fruitier than when I first started, making the experience slightly more pleasurable while also not affecting my breath. For those starting out, I suggest carrying around mint chewing gum so your breath does not smell of wee. I recommend the CB12 Boost Strong Mint Chewing Gum, although it may be pricey, the quality of the product and its ability to override any aroma making your breath smell the freshest it ever has helps make the price worth it. I suggest only doing this once a day, ideally in the morning or just before bed. I know people who have tried doing it twice a day but this can affect the colour of their wee, making it too clear which is not healthy for your digestion as natural salts in your body are diluted which creates chemical imbalances in your blood. If you are worried about whether or not drinking urine can negatively affect your health, DO NOT WORRY, drinking urine has many health benefits. For example, I easily developed rashes and prickly heat during the summertime, which led to me finding it hard to sleep at night during June, July, August, and the beginning of September. Only after a few days of drinking my urine did my negative skin reaction to the heat start to lessen, now after only 2 years all my allergic skin reactions completely went away. Other people find that drinking urine can benefit their acne, colds/flu, infections, and even avoid future heart problems and perhaps even cancer!! Overall, I am not forcing anyone to drink their urine. This is just a personal choice I have made for myself and I do not object to anyone else to this practice. I actually go out of my way to never drink urine in front of anyone, treating consumption of my wee like going to the toilet, a private thing that no one else needs to be concerned about. I understand that this lifestyle can seem extreme and unpleasant to other people and that is absolutely fine, I thought the same until I started to try it. P.S. My personal favourite family car is the Ford Focus. Ford has recently upped their game in terms of the appearance of their cars, with the front grills reminding me of Aston Martins, which are cars I adore but like the majority of us could never afford. At the moment own a 2012 Toyota Yaris, which I bought second-hand in 2014. Toyota cars are brilliant cars and very reliable, but I am going to sell mine since I and my lovely wife of 3 years now are planning to start a family and move house once the economy becomes more stable and predictable again, which will be difficult in a small car. I have been saving up for a bigger family-sized car for about 2 years now and the Ford Focus is the one I'm decided on, hopefully around winter next year I should have the chance to purchase one!
I'm pretty sure you didn't complain about the Ceed's driving experience when you tested it. Let's not forget, unlike the VAG cars, every model gets multi link rear suspension. You're not penalised if you buy a cheaper, smaller engined variant. Unlike VAG......
and with that 1 ltr engine I am sure that suspension tech will make a huge difference. I also drove an estate version of the old Ceed and while it was comfortable enough it was awful on motorway cruises. The car would not settle and constantly had to be corrected, the steering sensitivity adjust button seemed to do nothing. Didn't have that issue in the Passat, Focus, Hyundai or my Leon Cupra
@@L8ugh1ngm8n1 it doesn't matter how powerful the car is, going down country roads you'll feel the benefit of multi link suspension. The previous C'eed did not have multi link suspension and your talking about a completely different car, so your point is moot.
I'm quite agree with the Focus 1st place but I'll go to Astra. It is seriously underrated car. With the right spec options it is the best value for money in the class.
Benzinio Opel Astra is Great but there are downsides: 1. Automatic options are just ok 2. Fun factor to drive is just ok 3. lack of modern features (although the features that are present work really well) 4. interior design (personal taste of course)
Well... lets see how to address this: 1st - I rather have a bit dull Opel's auto then "exciting" VW DSG or any double clutch. It works well enough for someone who is looking for comfort. 2nd - The fun factor is average for the class. Cant match Focus or 1 series driving enjoyment but it is better then most. 3rd and 4th - I'm a bit confused... I personally wouldn't check many of the modern features boxes any way. Most of this is useless shit. I would go to the excellent lights (one of the class leasing), the AGR seats (again one of the best seats that can match with Mercedes luxury class or Volvo seats), and the optional audio pack which is far of the best but kind of works - I really don't need anything more. That's why I said "with the right options"... and I personally quite like the interior and the exterior. I rather purchase mid spec Astra and with saved money buy small second hand roadster for fun then put almost double the price for well spec Audi, Merc or BMW and pay premium for maintenance...
@@deltagames3864 You are right but here in Germany, Vauxhall is exactly the same as Opel and belongs to PSA Group as you stated but Opel is not really seen as a German car anymore here. Maybe it is different for Vauxhall over there.

Well BMW has a ridiculously small boot for example. And a harsh ride. Low rear windows. Cramped as hell in the back. 308 is widely recognised as a super family car, as was car of the year when it came out. Much more practical and better value for money than ANY of the German cars on the list.
I own a Peugeot 3008 and love it, i agree the 308 should be on the list but the German cars are still not impractical and I've never heard any reviews class them as that
The BMW is definitely impractical as a family car. I have a friend who owns one and the boot is a joke compared to our Citroen C4. The C4 btw is an old model now but still a much better choice for someone with kids.. has class leading boot size, is well equipped and very economical diesel engines . But it's not German.
The 308 is probably number 11 ;). It’s starting to show at age (facelift is cool but not a new model like the 208), driving experience is poor for its class ( seriously - I’d rather driver the 3008...) but it’s practical and design is cool. dank demer there are different kinds of family’s, not all of them consists of 6 people. Since these cars are spacius and practical and can fit at least four people with their luggage, I think they are good family cars.

No Seat Leon?? The latest models in particular give the golf and Octavia a real run for their money and, in the golfs case, are far cheaper for exactly the same kit! I’d have my fr diesel over a gtd any day!
Well your off the hook. Visited the volvo site and the v40 doesn't feature 🤔
I Have a Volvo V90 D4 awd and my wife has an Alfa Romeo Giulia Veloce... Of course the volvo is more practical but the kids prefer the Alfa.
Good list, but unfortunately the sales number of Focus doesn’t show its strength...
Greetings from Alberta, 🇨🇦... hey, fun looking cars!
Thankyou carwow for this nice video 👌
I’ve got a 54 plate Auto Honda CR-V and it gets me 18mpg, spark plugs changed, had a full service, tyres checked and balanced. Still can’t get anymore mpg, any ideas?
Go on eco mode
buy a small car
Leon?
Matt please try the Fiat Tipo
I’m 19 and looking at buying a merc A class. What trim do you guys think I should get??
A35 my man if you can afford it but I'll probably buy the focus since that's a lot cheaper to run
So disappointing you didn’t mention the Seat Leon ST FR. That is an enjoyable family wagon to drive and the lowest priced of the VAG MQB quartet: A3, Golf, Octavia, and Leon.
And it's the best looking one too ;) (especially the ST Cupra)
Mike Colarusso it’s mental mate I’m actually raged by them not putting the Leon in 😂
Best small family HATCHBACKS. Not estates.
3:56 Croatia, so proud :D
Haha da recenzija za a klasu je bila u splitu i okolici
Ford focus st my wet dream ;]
No Peugeot 308? Easily has a huge boot and really modern. Also Seat Leon is sportier than a golf but better value for money!
obviously 1 series all the way
i think would be the best family hatch back is the polo
1:15 - Sounded like you said 'It is enjoyable to drive, but also quite uncomfortable', rather than quiet and comfortable.
Finally the Corolla is in top 3
RIP for a RWD 1 Series... new gen due to comeout sometime this year.
Hopefully the next M140 will come with RWD
JoshyRacer it’ll be a 130 or 135i because 140 must be a six cylinder in BMW speak, and the FWD architecture doesn’t support the six
alexaescht hopefully they make the M140 RWD then so it can support the 6
JoshyRacer It only it was that easy! It’s not going to happen
alexaescht tru. Maybe XDrive tho?
JoshyRacer It’ll be a very similar concept to the Merc A35/45. There won’t be a six-cylinder engine in it
Interesting how different continents rate cars.
Brexit. When?
Ok, but can anyone of these fit a whole family inside the boot, bodies intact or otherwise
dank demer there are different kinds of family’s, not all of them consists of 6 people. Since these cars are spacius and practical and can fit at least four people with their luggage, I think they are good family cars.
It would be the Octavia then, that boot can take anything
Yeah... with no need to saw the people's legs of with a hammer!
Idk what it is about Skoda but I just love em 😂
This is gold.
I thought you said “like a soup from marks and Spencer’s” 😂😂
Nice Video. I think mazda 3 could be kn the list
Didnt you say in one of your early reviews that you prefer the Astra over the Golf? Howcome you changed your mind suddenly?
Octavia is the most practical and quite sporty in the RS Version...
Unfortunately BMW will not offer RWD models in this class, but I'm curious how the next M135i will perform 🙄
in here all focus even the st-line come with torsion beam and their excuse was that most people can`t even notice the different+they adjust the torsion beam so it`s better then multi link...i`m shocked that focus is on top.
Vauxhaul is opel ?
Muammer Erdem Mergen yes
Kia, Opel (Vauxhall), and no Renault, Peugeot/Citroen, Seat or Mazda included ? All 4 are better than the 2.
Yep, Mazda and Seat are killing it.
On the 15 best European cars, 7 cars is French. Matt make French bashing !
@@Maxmax-vk7jh Oh well, personally I can't stand French cars, but I won't try to deny their value and presence on the market like Mat does.
Seat leon all day
I would choose a class
When will we get a review on the Lexus LX570?
I really missed the Mazda 3 in here ;)
No Renault Megane?
No Peugoet 308?
But an overpriced A-Class?
EXACTLY WHERE IS PEUGEOT AND RENAULT ?
@R A 3008 is 40.000€ and they sell 204.000 Peugeot 3008 in Europe in 2018. French cars is not for poors, they are the best now. Only Dacia is for poor and dacia is very reliable dacia is number 4 in the world of reliabilty. French cars is the most popular in Europe in 2018, on the 15 best European cars in 2018, 7 was French. Well shut up
