Oh man that had me laughing. The uber upgraded comm taking 10 minutes then just getting blapped was like some multi episode anime power build up only for the protagonist to get turned into mulch. And then Djespad teleporting in with full stealth capabilities only to be doing it in full vision was like something from Home Alone
Pity FFF committed his com to that assault. The com itself didn't really do any damage, and if he hadn't been there his waves of t1 spam that were following up would have likely tied those bases down or even overrun them with the monkeylords knocked out.
Definitely an enjoyable game to watch. Team 1 looked nigh screwed. FFF did well, the problem was he went after 3 players that weren't the key to team 1. Shimras was holding that entire team together, offense and defense. Gave enough time for painagain to set up the end game for them.
I think if Comrade_Trotzky had sent his navy after 150 HP frollog in the beginning, Team 2 would have won. At least if MagnussCat had still gone for his amazing teleporter play, even if he appeared mostly inactive afterwards. Even though Team 1 was victorious, it feels like Team 2 did all the winning and the losing. Props at least to Shimras for his dogged defense of the sea, and NotPainAgain for sticking it out even when he expected the game to be lost midway through.
Team 2 were in the advantage after the telesnipes. The 2 main mistakes, or rather blunders, were one: the ahwassa not dropping some bombs at the right spots and the slightly over-extending with the big attack from Team 2. Obsidians were not in the main attackforce, the commander should've lead the pack aside with Ythotha, Ythotha should have marched a bit deeper into the opposite experimentals, among other tiny mistakes. The other big mistake was building those Tempest. 2 would've been enough if paired with some Exodus (T2 navy) and frigates or even Blazes or Zthuees. 'Cause you need those little boats to take out the other little boats. One shot from a Tempest on a frigate is one shot from Tempest not on a T3 or T2 ship (one shot does more damage than 4 frigates' health, 8000dmg against 4x1900=7600hp, not to mention that a Tempest could hit multiple ships with ground fire). Aeon needs these micro efforts.
Normally, I hate to see a game end with a standoff comeback, but this one felt earned - Team 1 held off against incredible odds, and capitalized on key blunders to push their advantage to an effortless victory. Good game all around!
Man, i can't wait for you to cast Sanctuary too. I'm biting my nails anxiously, expecting the joy of watching armies clashing and nukes obliterating th map :)
30:40 lol, Gyle literally looking away the second the base gets demolished after getting distracted with his thoughts on "penetration." Also, the number of games I've watched this month where the team absolutely demolishing or using crazy and effective strategies have lost due to failure to capitalize or prioritize correctly just baffles me.
@5.43 Gyle my man have you been reading your Horus Heresy ? the book series by the black Library ? by the sounds of it you have , such a great series am i right ? Anyone else been reading that ?
I got so annoyed that he brought his comm with that big push. What did he expect to happen when they had 3 experimentals? Of course they targetted the comm first. Comm goes, everything goes. The ending really frustrated me, team 2 had it in the bag. And with 2 stupid comm plays they ruined it for their team.
Yeah that annoyed me too. Several mistakes made here by team 2. 0. FFF made the mistake of sending his com in, which didn't really do anything and got KIA by a monkey. 1. They should have waited and built up more strats 2. They lost air control late game 3. Djestpad made a horrible gameplay with that teleport while other team had soothsayer 4. It was a mistake to send all those tempest in, when he should have taken advantage of its long range capabilities. Also gave a huge mass donation on their side of the pond. 5. Djestpad's demise set off a chain reaction, his team mates momentarily lost energy which caused their shields to go offline in time for the T3 arty volley to rain down on their base. The rest is history. They had this game in the bag, with the other team having lost 3 base worth of economy due to that telemazer. But mistakes happen and they lost.
So weird how one decision changes the course of the entire game. *=SPOILERS=* I don’t think Team 2 would have lost if FFF hadn’t sent his Com in on that main attack. Not only did his attack fail to knock out any players on the ground, but it effectively neutered any ground threat Team 2 had once he got popped. Then all that Team 1 had to do was get T3 artillery online, sit back, and wait.
Gyle you better start looking for some Sanctuary intro background vid/animation for the future casts so the casts are at 100% pro level ;) As for Sanctuary, kinda surprised and kinda worried they are going too fast with the release, but hopefully it's all good
It was the navy tempos play that lost , he submerged them and didn’t use tempos range to clean out before moving them one by one in ! + u build cruisers out of tempos they can be very deadly ,
Gonna be honest... after Magnus did his absolutely amazing telesnipe, team 2 should have won... but then they just absolutely sabotaged themselves by making absolutely costly mistakes and doubling down on specific units and not diversifying or being flexible at all. If the tempest spam was just 1 or 2 less and those resources put into regular boats... they would've won. They probably would've won if they built a couple czars while they had air cover. the thing with a czar against static defenses is unless you can kill it before it gets in position... you've already lost that chunk of the base. so without air control, czars for team 2 would've been absolutely devastating. a soul ripper or 2 would've been game-ending. Had any of team 2 gone for artillery or nukes themselves, a single nuke on the water would've cleared the way for the tempests and likely not been protected. they had the potential eco to outbuild even if they just tried to out artillery them. good spam of strats could've worked. soooo many options... instead they focused on nothing but tempests (which again, would be fine... if they built more than JUST the tempests) and several fatal mistakes with their coms. don't say this normally, but between the above, and them literally handing the other team 2 of their coms, team 2 beat themselves more than team 1 did this game.
The steady trickle of small strat bomber groups was also sad. Half as often and twice as big could have sniped commanders and eco. For once I have to commend a team for building the correct amount of AA. Team1 had generally good coverage all over their half of the map.
Love a good full share game. Far too rare these days. And that cybran early telesnipe was a brilliant way to use it! Before any significant counter is ready...
To be honest? I didn't expect, I'dsay that as a noob, but I think I just saw the worst Ahwassa management (BoldBrathas) wchich wasted a win for team 2 and caused unsuccesful defence of FFF ACU. So many missed crucial good bomb drops (bombs weren't dropped). I think, that was first crucial point. But to viewers joy, this mistake (and 2 more mistakes, suicidal ACUs) made game longer and more interesting!
Ah yes... T3 artillery - the reason why maps like gap will always and forever never stay late game for very long. Costs a fraction of a true game ender, and once you get 3, entire bases implode on the other side of the map.
fraction of a true game ender, but if you're building 3 that costs as much as a true game ender outright. T3 artillery, at least in faf, is incredibly expensive, more than double the price of any mobile experimental
@@TOOTHBRUSHDUCK So, we are speaking about gap, where land push is not viable due to massive chokepoints, so no need to speak about them. Re. T3 artillery, 3x of them are still much less (~40k) mass than a game ender, and you start hurting the other team immediately after the first one comes out. Game enders are also even more vulnerable to being sniped, especially by tele-sniping, due to their low HP compared to 3x artillery.
@@mavor101 3x T3 Artillery is 210k mass, a Yolona Oss is only 190k mass. A Mavor and Scathis are only ~10k more mass, leaving only the paragon being 40k more than three T3 Artillery.
