Then they spend the rest of the match backseat-commanding their teammates as if somehow their input is needed. Especially for players like Death Squad, or literally anyone in this game who didn't just suicide their commander.

He suicides in full share off games too. It doesn't last very long though of course since losing an entire base in any team game = instant loss for everyone.

Agreeing with you Gyle on the updates to the GC. While its awesome to watch it work now, it taking on a horde of T3 units worth 20K mass, then take on another experimental worth 20K mass (though with great micro) is a bit crazy. Maybe they just need to update the frequency or speed of the tractor beams so it can't kill 2 units at a time in 3 seconds.
I think its fine, the problem is its capability of outranging some T3 ground units, reducing its laser range would make it a easy target for percies/fatboy or a megalith.
@@Lode343 Or in contrast, reduce its tractor beam range to allow those T3 units to actually engage the GC without getting decimated in seconds, but still allow its anti-experimental capabilities. Bricks and Percies have decent range, but the Harb/Othuum have relatively short range in comparison. This would force the GC to get in close to be effective against T3 bots, but in turn take more damage in the process from being swarmed. Kind of a high risk, high reward scenario if you can pull it off. Lots of possibilities to consider.
@@upon1772 I'd point out that the Harb/Othuum are pretty bad against exp's in general, not just vs the (updated) GC. Equal mass in percies or bricks would have done a lot more damgae (I think the perci outranged the GC tractor?). Also the GC was very well micro'd the tractor beams cannot target their opposite side of the GC so standing a wall of harbs directly infront where the tractors can dual kill isn't the best of ideas. If you stand units to the side the GC loses 1/2 its anti spam ability or is forced to turn, and since its main weapon is also directional that would be very bad.
The tractor arm fix for the GC was needed, and the GC should be the quintessential anti-T3 experimental but that seems a little brutal. Great cast Gyle! :D

I think it was flagged as 'landed'. Transports with units will 'land' but visually still float in the air so the artilery was able to target it as a grounded unit

Always love to see a new Gyle upload, and to see a game with as many twists and turns as this one; surprise endings and comebacks are one thing, but a game on almost unilaterally even footing like this is in some ways even more exciting to watch. Keep up the good casts!
Having seen a bunch of team replays, team balance seems very much secondary to the highest rated player. In other words a 2v2 with 1200+1200 Vs 1600+800 is "perfectly balanced" but the 1600 rated player will win for his team, MOST of the time, especially on team share games.
That tractor beam at 36:30 WTFF thats discusting levels of damage. I do think its balanced though, aeon need some love they kinda get shafted at almost everything. Also the gravity doesnt help against other experimentals, and i still think it loses to mass equivalent percy (prob beats the other t3 units).
38:00 abysmal chicken micro, the secondary gun wasnt even shooting and he dodged the lightning ball. Gc would have been dead easily if he simply used all of its weapons... xD And i think the gc tractors claws need a small cooldown for some seconds tbh. xD
When I can't finally afford a good pc for this game I'm going to grind this game I have watched since it first time it came out only experience I have with it is the xbox360 version and Gyle I've watched you for almost two years your doing a absolutely great job i enjoy every video and love this game I look forward to the content to come

5:04 Gyle, why aren't you using "Anisotropic filtering x16"? The ground is blurry in the background. PCGamingWiki says, there's no "Anisotropic filtering" setting in the game. But you can force it via nVidia Control Panel (right click on Desktop) → manage 3D Settings → Program Settings → Supreme Commander. This GPU feature isn't demanding, but it would look much better in the game.
Reducing the range of GC's tractor beams or changing it so that it can only pick up one T3 unit it at a time using it. Having it destroy two T2 units seems alright but not two T3s.

I feel like the GC is pretty balanced now, it used to be purely an anti exp unit. The most swarmable of the direct combat exp's now its actually capable of fighting multiple types of units while have no organic AA at all so it still has a weakness.
Transports get targeted by all direct fire units while holding units and stationary. Not sure if that's the way it's supposed to be but it's been like that for a while.
stationairy air units land on the ground and so do transports, but with the units being carried it cant just sit on the ground for some reason and is thus visually shown flying while actually still being flagged as 'landed'
12:10 I swear to god supreme commander is the only game where you can get mad from watching players like people do for sports. Like you SPENT your apm/eco setting this attack up, then you send it out and DONT pay attention to it lmfao
The beam is it's main thing and has always been fine. No reason that it's hand weapons should now be the main weapons. They're OP with their attack rate doubled or more, and they're always a 100% kill, long range, don't miss, and can wipe out a support army while focusing a T4. Reduce range and attack speed and they'll be ok.
What was system failure doing? D: Btw. dear FAF team, you should decrese the range of Collosus, the buff he got is ENORMOUS, probably the strongest experimental now when dealing with army composed of T3 units. Like if you think that tractor beam should also catch planes, it would be AWESOME to kill aircrafts as GC, but the range should be shorter cos that's too OP vs land units. Buff Donuts, they are weak, not enough HP imo, why to build Donuts with enemy Air superiority btw. Death Squad?
The transport was in between the shells and ground as they arced over on their trajectory. The same as you can intercept the t3 artillery if you have a bunch of transports flying over what they are targeting on the ground.
That moment in split-screen, when the czar suddenly came in was epic! :D

It can be helpful to have another pair of eyes to have someone point stuff out to you, but yeah he was backseat commanding.

A cooldown on the tractor beam for the GC would be good, it's way too powerful now. 2-3 second cooldown would work well I think.

I do think it's now just a bit overdone. Maybe needs just a second longer cooldown inbetween each tractor.

Chariot was groundfired in the air by arty bc it was hanging directly abowe landed labs. Arty was targeting labbs in fact, but hit transport.
