Also comparing this with a Type S would be a good video too once they finally start to roll out
I was quite disappointed at how little room there is in this car and decided not to buy it for that reason . It feels cramped inside snide compared to my 2nd gen tsx even though it has 4” longer wheelbase
The trunk is terrible!! There are no hooks or anything to add a cargo net. Also when using the inside handle to close it, you have to use a lot of force!!
Coming from an Acura RL, this car was an utter disspaointment for me. Test drove the technology package and it drives like a civic. Kept struggling for the right gear, bumpy ride, underwhelming engine noise. Not like the good ol RL
Interesting thoughts. I haven't had any of that type experience so far. The 10 speed auto seems like it's hitting at the right spots. The torque in this car is pretty good. I've had three j35 v6s in a row and I can tell you I do not miss it. I know that past engine very well as far as how it performed.
All it does in most cars is put you in a lower gear and waste more fuel because 95% of the time you're just going to be cruising at 45 mph. In sport mode you will be churning like 2500 rpms as opposed to like 1700 rpm in normal mode. Just wasting fuel for that 1% opportunity of needing power. I want cars to be reactive enough in normal

Is this the spiritual successor to the GS 450h f-sport? I wouldn't mind switching back to FWD for this
Hmm I wouldn't say it's a successor to Lexus Acura has definitely developed their own unique feel in the industry def something to try out I think you will like how this car reacts to your inputs. Since you're coming from thr power of a 450h the Type S might be something to wait for
So you didn't have any massive delays with the transmission if you were cursing on the freeway and punched it? The last gen TLX was terrible when downshifting and skipping gears, like this. And I've seen some reviews still complaining about it. Hopefully they fixed that though.
Yes there is a noticeable lag but I can personally live with it because it always manages to choose the right gear despite having so many
@@MeynMotorGroup -- Cool man. Yeah, as long as the transmission behavior is predictable, that's the main thing. Seems like a nice car -- can't wait for the V6!
Yes it is predictable that's mainly why I can tolerate it 😅 yea V6 should be crazy
I want you to do a comparison between an Accord 2.0T and a V6
You mean with the Type S, I hope I can get access to that vehicle as well
Oh ahaha no my bad, I wasn’t too clear. I meant with a 9th gen accord v6 and the 10th gen em with the 2.0T. I’m curious to see what you would personally prefer since the turbo has less horsepower but lots of low end torque. Also comparing this with a Type S would be a good video too once they finally start to roll out
Ohhh gotcha my friend sorry about that yea that would def be a cool video!
Acura TLX Type S vs IS500 F-Sport Performance will be interesting.
For sure!
If only I could find the Active noise cancelling/ fake engine noise module and unplug it lol
Hows this car compare to the LC? I was thinking of the type s or the LC
I dont think the 2 are comparable 😅
@@MeynMotorGroup aw shiet lol, will prob test drive the type s And LC then decide!
I was quite disappointed at how little room there is in this car and decided not to buy it for that reason . It feels cramped inside snide compared to my 2nd gen tsx even though it has 4” longer wheelbase
The front looks so fucking menacing
🔥🔥🔥🔥
Sad it's only available in north America...
Yea unfortunately I don't think Acura will be expanding
👍🏻Acura
Thanks for stopping by my friend!
Gotta wait on the type S.
I dont think the Type S will look much different from this A-Spec but that motor should be amazing
The trunk is terrible!! There are no hooks or anything to add a cargo net. Also when using the inside handle to close it, you have to use a lot of force!!
put a basket in the trunk
@@MeynMotorGroup I would, but there is nothing to tie it down to. It's just going to slide all over the place. :(
Yea it's gotta be kind of a big box but that's usually what we put in sedans works pretty well for us but just a suggestion
It's so disappointing to see Acura put out a sporty car with such a blah engine. How about a 3.3 with twin turbos? S type?
Yup that will be Type S 3.0l V6 turbo. This is a good engine in it's own right probably one if the best 4 cylinders
Why dont you like putting cars in sports mode
All it does in most cars is put you in a lower gear and waste more fuel because 95% of the time you're just going to be cruising at 45 mph. In sport mode you will be churning like 2500 rpms as opposed to like 1700 rpm in normal mode. Just wasting fuel for that 1% opportunity of needing power. I want cars to be reactive enough in normal
@@MeynMotorGroup thanks for explaining. #Understood
Your arms are way too squished up against you.
Put the steering farther or back up the seat.
Your arms should not be doing a 90 degree when holding the steering.
Also if you get in a crash your gonna feel the airbag being that close. Its gonna knock you the F out lol
Perhaps I could put the wheel back a bit but I personally like driving closer to the wheel makes me feel like I have more control.
IS350 > TLX ASPEC/Advance
Haven't tried the new one have you?
A-Spec is all I need for 5 years till I can afford a Type-S
Yea this is def a good starting point!
The Accord has remote start from EX on up and the new Acura doesn't.
I've never used that 😆
that car is whack. acura is wack lol. Just sorry since Legend left... they are bottom of the bottom of the "luxury" segment.
Have you tried it?
@@MeynMotorGroup no but just material quality and the looks of it makes me wanna stay away. I appreciate you and your reviews just not a fan of this car or Acura as a brand
Understandable but I do hope you try out this new one HUGE step up from the previous Acuras both inside and drive
Then Cadillac shows up with 472 and 668 hp CT4-V and CT5-V for slight more money than 355hp Type-S!
Cadillac quality is questionable
@@MeynMotorGroup if you think anything new from Honda or Acura is a quality product then you have been living under a rock for the last decade or so. For Acura it might be two decades.
I mean if you like it you should buy one. Do you currently have a CTS V?
@@MeynMotorGroup i had the first CTS-V back in 2005. Currently have a CT6.
You might want to get the new Tesla Model S
Is slower than Accord
No one, in any brand, ever like the mouse-ish/trackpad systems. Not one is liked.
This is going backwards. Comon acura
Yea Infotainment is the biggest weak link for me with this car
cant wait till its 2026 and this car is less than half the value its worth right now
Lol in 2026 when the new one comes out you will be saying the same thing about that one. Rn you can get a 2016 TLX it's half price rn
👊🏾👍🏾👍🏾
Hey bro thanks for dropping in on another!
@@MeynMotorGroup No prob bro about to watch now long day traveling thru the snow storm we had holler back after watching about my opinion and your reply 👍🏾👍🏾
Hope everything is alright bro I heard the snow is crazy up north right now, are you using the trusty LS 430 in the snow?
@@MeynMotorGroup Yupp my only car right now bro but was kind of surprised got thru eat smoothly and without snow tires at that lol I gained even more love for my LS430 as if I needed any more lol 💎👍🏾👍🏾
Incredible bro I keep telling you that things a keeper it really proved itself in that snow storm 😅 I knew it would get through fine with snow tires but very impressed it did it with just all seasons that's awesome 👌
Acura cheap in out on tlx
?
@@MeynMotorGroup body has so many gap lines in it , which creates so much noise coming in , idk bro i see Acura on the roads I don’t see any big diffrence from Honda on it
@@dfhhtyu3434 have you had a chance to test drive one and see the interior? Most reviewers have given the interior high marks on the quality as being higher end. The suspension is a double wishbone which they did not have in the last generation which is absolutely an upgrade. And that's not all.
@@drivecfl the 3rd and 4th gen TL had doublewishobe
@@dfhhtyu3434and that was a TL and not a TLX..lol The comments are about this car being a TLX and this is the first double wishbone in a TLX. They had McPherson struts in the last gen. This also has nothing to do with the current or past Accords platforms. With the mention of not seeing any big difference from a TLX and Accord.. Are there some similarities in body styles? One can say there may be, but again this gen TLX is a brand new exclusive chassis and other features.
Definitely a good looking car but compared to 2021 es🤔 nahhhh
I don't think they're comparable 😅 ES is like driving a pillow not a sports sedan at all
Completely different cars. One is a full size luxury plush sedan and the other is a sport sedan. People won't cross shop these.
@@jpizel1070 but they will with the F-Sport version. I know it's more expensive tho.
The new IS is more in competition with this I believe
@@MeynMotorGroup I have an es so I just used that as a benchmark on some fanboy shit. But be honest regular ppl buy cars off looks , space & driving feel. Not like anybody would buy a Tlx for a Weeknd warrior Lls. Cus it’s not a sporty car it’s a daily driver. They’ll definitely be cross shopped
Still looks like a birds beak...
Lol nah
Seats are clunky and ugly, fake vents galore. I'll pass
Seats were the best part 😂 did Honda Acura hurt you in any way lol
@@MeynMotorGroup ha ha. One would think so due to how I talk down on the brand.... so many people I know are fans of them... maybe that’s why lol. I like your bmw gran coupe. I have gran coupe as well
But is there something in particular you didn't like or an experience? I had some reliability issues got it covered under warranty for the TSX and TLX dealer support helped. Driving is probably what Honda Acura does best, interiors were sub par til now. Yea that Bimmer was nice not a fan of the new grill tho 😂
What!? Acura has some of the most comfortable seats in the industry.
@@AFCompany Well I didn't like the TSX seats in my 2010 but the TLX and this new TLX pretty amazing this new 2021 TLX is def Acura's best work yet
