I really enjoyed and miss the Angus Deayton era, he was a brilliant host. The show was never quite the same after he was "retired"
I actually thought it got much, much better! I didn’t really like the guy and having different presenters is really refreshing. I never miss an episode nowadays - and the News Quiz on Radio 4.
Agreed. I found Merton's attitude towards him rather sanctimonious , I went right off him .

Stopped watching once they started featuring that awful Coren Mitchell

Angus should come back, it's been 20 years since the cocaine and hooker "scandal" most politicians have done worse and we give them a pass

Angus was the best. It was never right after that.

Apart from the cocaine/hooker 'incident' of 2002, Angus Deayton was the best presenter of this show. Some of the hosts did far worse than Angus....Boris Johnson, for example.
Shame they didn't do special for 2024 election. I look forward to these specials.

@KitchenSinkSoup Some people simply can't _not_ give their opinion, as if anyone asked. Like the rest of us are here waiting and _hoping_ someone will come along and tell us that we don't even know what is funny
It's very of its time - while not very funny, this is miles better than it is now
