Nice short and sweet video! I think I'll stick to the default I already use because it shows box art, a logo, and a screenshot, but it is nice to have options. I opted not to do videos because although they look great, they can take up gigs and gigs of space.

it would be nice to make a setup video for desktop pc, I'd love to have Emulation Station on my desktop as I don't own a Steam Deck! love your channel ross!
@PerroVerde I might recommend checking out his videos on Launchbox, that's what I'm currently using on my desktop to sort and manage my emulation library and I've found it to be a really robust and easy to use system, once I got the hang of it!

Hi! Does emulation station ( windows version) allow to bring up a menu with the xbox home button ( such as in bigbox) which allows to choose between closing the game, getting back to it or load a save?
I like the Modern Theme, resembles the Switch menu. Can the icons for the systems be changed?
Hay does EmulationStation use the PCSX QT Emulator? I’m interested in using RetroAchievements but only the more recent builds of PCSX2 supports it.

Thanks for both this and the EmuDeck video! Question - for cd based systems, how do you set up Emulation Station to ignore specific filetypes? That is, if I have a m3u, bin, and cue files, how do I have Emulation Station only pick up the m3u files?
You have a couple options. Personally what I do is rename my .bin and .cue files to something that won't be picked up by EmulationStation. Something like .bun and .cd files for bin and cue, respectively, and then just edit the .cue and .m3u files with a text editor to match those new file extensions. The games will boot no matter what their extension says. EmuDeck also has some other methods here: github.com/dragoonDorise/EmuDeck/wiki/EmulationStation-DE#how-to-manage-multiple-discs

Any idea why some of my videos are gone from Emulationstation? I had the COMPLETE list of videos, screenshots, box/cover art and all that shit, for SNES, then after I install scrapes for NES, those preview videos for SNES seem gone. WTH happened? Do I actually need redo that? It too ALL NIGHT.

After scraping my game list shows box art, rating, screenshot then a video clip...... How do you revert back to say just box art... or turn off the video gameplay clip?

Help!!! How are you using MelonDS??? You list it as you preferred Nintendo DS but Emulation Station cannot pass a ROM to load successfully and in Steam Game Mode the SteamOS is incompatible with the emulator's menu dialogue boxes.
2 nice themes. They come standard in the latest RetroDeck which I prefer for its simple setup, ease of use and self contained install through the built in Discover repository.
Is it possible to add msu1 games to emulation station?
I know you might not get around to reading but I got something I’m trying to fix, if I use emudeck to load a game in steamOS it seems to load a different version of PCSX2 (even though I though I installed 1 copy) than the one in EmulationStation. (Meaning my saves aren’t there or different saves. How can I make both links load in one version of pcsx2? Thanks
Ok I have fixed it, ran a different version of pcsx2 on emu station to match the one running from the standalone games in the steamOS
Is there a theme that displays a trophy icon if the game is compatible with retro achievements? Or does that need to be a feature with Emustation that doesn’t currently exist on the Steam Deck?
Sadly that's not related to themes but the version of EmulationStation.

Not for EmulationStation Desktop Edition, unfortunately. This runs an older display mode, which is more akin to the RetroPie themes. The more robust themes like you see in EmuELEC or Batocera aren't compatible with this version of EmulationStation.

Nice video. To bad emulation station doesn't work for me. Half the emulator don't show up as well as my roms don't show up.
Rpcs3 and Duckstation don’t show up in emulationstation for me… I tried editing the xml file in custom systems but it’s like nothing changes…
Duck station should work as for RPCS3 it has a frustrating workaround to get it to show up
How do i hide all the tracks files for psx?
I believe there's a emudeck compressor that compresses the track 1 and track 2 files
Click on the update sundeck and look under tools and u will see the button called emudeck compressor and then a little pop-up window will show the game system u want to compress
There is no aspect ratio to amend in my theme.xml

I still don't like how emulationstation doesn't create collections for CPS1, 2 and 3. Big misstep imo. I don't like having to open RA to play those games when I wish I could choose them from a list like the rest of the emulators.
Try creating a cps folder in your EmulationStation folder and add your games, according to their user guide it should recognize it. gitlab.com/es-de/emulationstation-de/-/blob/master/USERGUIDE.md
