Fat Kid Rules The World TRAILER (2012) - Matthew Lillard Movie HD
Troy Billings is seventeen, overweight, and suicidal. Just as he's about to jump in front of a bus, he's saved by Marcus, a charming high school dropout/street musician. The two begin an uneasy friendship when Marcus enlists the musically challenged Troy to become the drummer in a new punk rock band. As Troy's relationship with Marcus grows, Troy's father becomes increasingly concerned about his son's new friendship.

Why the fuck do people think this is offensive? It's a story about a kid who feels torn from society and makes a friend and does something with his life. It's pretty fucking inspirational is what it is.

Coming from a Fat Kid this book was amazing I keep it as a reminder that life is full of chance encounters and you have to be willing to go out and try new things.

My favorite book during my time in middle school
It was very good leading up to the ending which just sucked. I think that's why so many people didn't like it. The story is very well developed, the main characters are great, and the humor won't make you rofl but it is dark (which I appreciate). The trailer does not do the movie justice but OH GOD THE ENDING SUCKS. However, this is one of the most accurate representations I've ever seen of what it's like being a fat kid in high school. (Trust me, I would know).

Which stars Matthew Lillard in a phenomenal comedy role as basically a punk, well theres somewhat of a sequel thats cooking named Punks Dead, and I hope you do watch that movie or SLC PUNK! most on due part because the latter is a conscious psychedelic greatly acted comedic film. There's also Jason Segel in it (HYIM) so yeah..

Is this based off of the actual book? Because I'm reading it for a class in highschool, we had to read a banned or challenged book. I love the book so far, its amazing, made me want to cry sometimes since I had the same exact problem as Troy. Well anyways I'm hoping that netflix has this movie added because I would very much love to watch it when I'm done with the book. I've noticed that they changed Curt to Markus other than that I love it.

You should try the book. I've gotta say I'm kind of disappointed in the trailer, it's way too different from the story.
That's usually how it goes :c I barely read books but one of the few that held my attention was Water for Elephants. It's insane and graphic (I mean it even has maturbating midgets).Then I saw the movie was PG13 to appeal to a teen audience so I didn't even bother.

people can take a lot from this film theres more to life than playing video games. If a person puts effort in learning to play a instrument then playing on a video game he or she can make new friends and come out of his or her shell more. It has a good message and i would recommend watching this film just to learn that message. Theres more to life than playing video games.

i remember i watched this movie a few times over after i got stoned my junior year of highschool in 2013 haha, the story and the movie and way deeper than the trailer, so are the characters story, complex and deep character narrative and storyline and backstory, with dark humor and some laugh out loud, but its way more interesting than this trailer

This movie sucked. At the start, he isn't even bullied but he decides to throw himself in front of a bus? After that point on it seemed to be going well.
Until he doesn't actually play in the band... It takes the entire movie for him to finally play in the band, and when he does, it lasts for a few seconds of him just starting on the drums... Then "Fat Kid Rules the World" pops up. You don't even get to see him play, which was the entire fucking point of watching the movie.
Oh, and the last 15-20 minutes was about how his friend overdosed. That could have been done and dusted in 5 minutes or less. It shouldn't have been given so much screen-time. There needed to be more bullying, more "fat kid" playing the drums, and some better acting in scenes. He was meant to show the world, but he didn't. Big disappointment.

The movie ended the same way the book ended. With the band finally starting. And he's depressed. Not bullied. That's why he tries to kill himself. I thought the movie was great and did a great job following the book while still being it's own movie
