Rubbish. Have a look around. There are show like that being released now too. They even announced some new citizen khan stuff would be coming in the future
The original story line with the characters was written by a Pakistani lady ‘Pumpi Moore’. It was based upon her personal experiences within the Pakistani families she met when she arrived in the UK. It was a humorous take on British Pakistanis and their cultural conflicts with British society. The manuscript was presented to the BBC but they declined saying they didn’t have funds etc or it was not of current interest to them. A couple of years later this show appeared on national TV. I still have her original handwritten manuscripts with her directions lying forgotten in some box somewhere,
It's not surprising at all, that's BBC for you. Like any television network ( but especially ones that claim that they are funded through government or personal donations and not advertisement) the BBC will do everything in its power to prevent paying a single dollar pound to anybody who creates anything for them. They will happily lie with a big wide smile on their face that they loved your story or your idea or project but they just don't have enough money to do it and then lo and behold a year or so later they'll have that exact same thing being broadcast and when you try and call them and tell them that what they're doing is wrong that they're stealing your idea. They will just laugh at you and tell you to see them in court if you have the money to oppose them. It's not just the BBC that does this plenty of other networks across the world have done this. It's just a simple fact that if you have any original idea for a story that you want to have created in any entertainment Medium, you're best off making either a novel that you self-publish online or finding a bunch of friends and trying to do it yourself on RUclips, like those incredible mad lads who made who killed Captain Alex. Because companies like the BBC will always do everything they can to steal ideas from creators so they can make them without having to pay the creators for their intellectual property.
@@lornbaker1083 Thank you and that’s basically exactly what happened. A couple of years back when I was reading the manuscripts, I was amazed at how well they read and how she had even put the directions in. The story gets worse as I think, before this event, while doing her law degree, she had to do some work experience with the Met. At some Met. Christmas party she came out with her idea for a painting of a very very famous 1960s murderess, I’ll just say the incidents occurred in the Lancashire, Yorkshire area. She was often on the front pages of Tabloids. The police inspector told her off for giving out her idea. She said, they’re only police, what would they know about art, he replied yes but you don’t know who they know! Anyhow about a year later the painting with exactly the same idea was unveiled. Having known her for many years, I knew her creativity and the ideas she was constantly churning out It therefore made sense to me. When I looked at the other art of the famous artist who had unveiled his version, it struck me that that form of abstract thinking was not really his style at all! Anyhow, I still have her paintings and sketchbooks.the sketchbooks are all locked away in suit cases.

I have a friend whose father was an Asi immigrant into Britain about 40 years ago, and she told me he was always complaining about east Europeans coming in and taking ‘ all our jobs ‘! 🤷♀️
And how right he was. Because 4p years ago after the war this country needed immigrants who came from the commonwealth. Eastern Europe is not the common wealth. They mostly from countries who fought us in ww2
My mum n dad used to watch this on a night .. I used to kill it..💯💖
Sadly some people saw it as racist so it got cancelled even though the director and actors were Asians themselves 🤦🏾♂ But it was so funny and of course it was exaggerated just like any other comedy show
Very well written show!
What a wonderful comedy show !!
Watch this from Germany
Love from Germany
When I saw this, I actually believed that Dave was a Brummie. Turns out he has a very convincing fake accent 😆😆😆
7 years later, a show like this wouldnt even be allowed to be made.
We yes it would it is pro Muslim and refers to Muslims as typical British. If anything it just takes a swipe at Christian’s and white people. So this is very P.C and liberal it very much would be made today.
This show is amazing..am crying every time am watching this but cos am laughing so hard 😂😂
Because you are ginger I m dead 😂😂😂😂
Just imagine how many people would get butt hurt if they made this right now? It would be cancelled in a second. One of the best programs EVER!!
it only finished six years ago not like it was decades ago
Well maybe they need to make one about Jews and hindus
British Comedy on Pakistani Family!
One of the best comedy series.
We need more of this show
Malaysian Wedding before Covid 19: we will have a small reception... we will keep the number of guests only 600 pax...

The Vicar of Dibbly
@@dennischapman6893 great show......right up until the blm farce
Thanks for these excellent belly-laugh-out-loud moments from one of my favourite comedy programmes.
You can't be serious lol.
@@S-North Comedy isn't serious. That's the whole point of it.
@@philjamieson5572 I wasn't referring to the supposed comedy, I was referring to your enthusiasm that you posted in your original comment.
@@S-North potato potato.
Why do such gems not air on tv??? Brilliant actors, jokes...

Dubai and Bradford reference is brilliant 😂 😂
Tik Tok guided me to this comedy, I never heard an idea... Its so good n funny.
It's like the Nigerian show desmonds
Political correctness has killed comedy..it's funny how we can't make healthy fun of one another (which we've always done without taking offence) but comedians can swear the roof off an auditorium and make all sorts of lewd remarks.
How sad.
PC is a cancer , it's destroyed comedy but that's only the start of it
Bang on Lily. Wokeness is cancer! And lefty comedy is as funny as syphilis!!
Sadly some people saw it as racist so it got cancelled even though the director and actors were Asians themselves 🤦🏾♂ But it was so funny and of course it was exaggerated just like any other comedy show
A fantastic series and a shame they didn't do more
