She keeps the perfect amount of English in this. Catherine Tate is fluent in French and could have done the entire thing in perfect French but she keeps just the perfect amount of her key-words - "bovvered" instead of "ennuye", "disrespecte" instead of "irrespect" etc - so that even people who know little-to-no French can still understand and enjoy it
also the fact shes playing a high school character who isnt at all fluent. she toned it down for the character too and used wrong words
Lauren is still the smartest student in that school. She just shows it in a strange, anger inducing way.

Well, kind of... she knew one sentence and then had a couple of other sentences that were mixed french and english, and her pronunciation was pretty bad. But maybe it was an introductory language class and that would have been enough.

maybe because this was kind of very racist, I am just using the BBC guidelines for racism and language that should not be tolerated, since the BBC is so preoccupied with other people being racist, maybe they should apply the same principle to their own shows. they are the biggest hypocrites and promoters of racism hence the thumbs down.

She is basically just saying, "Am I bothered", "Are you calling my dad a pikey?", etc. You don't really need to understand French, as there's enough English in what she says. If you actually speak French it makes it harder, because her pronunciation is terrible.

I sympathise with you. When I and my classmates were at secondary school French was compulsory and we resented it and our poor French teacher suffered as a result.
We still have to do French or Spanish up to year eight but we can choose to drop it as we go into year nine when we pick our options

Good although the teacher isn't French and makes mistakes when she speaks French and has an English accent. But her deliberately mild French accent in English varies from barely audible to really excellent.

I don't speak French, but from what I gathered, she asks her teacher, "Look at my face? Am I bovvered? Are you disrespecting my family? Are you insinuating that my dad's a Pykey? You saying my mom's a Gypo?" Then more of the "My face, look at it," and "Ferre Jacques."
(And no offense to anybody that's Romani or Irish Traveler. I'm going by the translation.)
