Thanks for watching, from all of us at Matt's off-road recovery!
Great video as usual Matt!! It was fun to
Come down and get some time in on the banana see you next week!
Subbed buddy great job in the drip rails etc can't wait to see more of your quality work
You have some awesome talent! Fun watching you work that metal.
Just subscribed to your channel !!! 🤜🤛
You should try a Raptor bedliner paint job on the Banana, it needs something other than shiny paint. I restored my 2000 XJ 18 months ago during lockdown and it is the best upgrade I've ever done. One important thing is how much cooler the truck is in the summer because it is so thick.
Great job bro. 🤘🏼🤘🏼
40 years from now, the “Banana” will be the “Golden Nugget” project when Matt is in his 80s.
"40 years ago I got it stuck in the mud at sand hollow"
Golden Banana 🍌😆
Quick! Go find a landslide to hide it behind.
I'm thinking in 40 years is going to look more like a yellow batmobile.
The only thing is the banana is being built tough so when they go to redo it there in for a tough job
Whatever the outcome of the…. “Drama” we are all rooting for you and have your back! Keep getting them out and we will keep having your back! One of my favorite channels!
Did I miss some drama in this video?
@@JeremyAkersInAustin not in the video no just media/news trying to take advantage of good people
Happy Sunday Matt & friends. Hope everyone has a great day & an even better week! MUCH LOVE ❤️
OK, Matt: Not just "vice grips and some straps," but also the knowledge of how to apply them! Thanks for having Robbie in this video. I learned a ton!
Matt is a man on a mission with BANANA! That guy's technique on the body work was way cool!
It’s all about finding the right person with the proper skills…you do that really well Matt! I don’t remember a rollcage being part of the Banana upgrade. The plasma cutter always amazes me.
@@MattsOffRoadRecovery …gotcha, thanks!
@@MattsOffRoadRecovery …rollcage is perfectly logical considering the stuff you guys do!
good to see you all today 12/6. Thanks for letting me take up your time. your yard looked good and good job on the gates Rudy! was going to tease lizzy a little but she wasn't in super mood. maybe next time. I'll stop by again some time.
As Always,
John Vincent

A reciprocating saw with a putty scraper attached for taking the windshield off. That is a serious tricks of the trade tool right there.
Love seeing Robby work this stuff is awesome!
10:48 OSHA compliant doggo 😂
Man, you and your crew and your friends are so refreshing to watch! Thank you for the recovery videos, and even more so for these build videos.
Never EVER scrap the Nanner....keep it aside if it ever gets that bad- as memorial to faithful service.. and TRADEMARK development. Nanner is family!!
Yard art is what I call it. I got a few vehicles I can't bring myself to part with because of all the times they had my back no matter what when they shouldn't have taken the abuse. Faithful stead now deserves a peaceful rest, until I get around to restomodding them.
My friend's trucking company took his grandfather's first truck and mounted it on a post at the end of the driveway
@@1987FX16 I have neighbors with about a dozen faithful steads in their yard galleries.
You guys should flock the dash with the windshield off. The reflection from stainless and the heat it will produce could do a number to your eyes because of reflection. If nothing else wire wheel it down to a matte finish. Flocking it is easy and barely anytime. You could rhino line it or even put a Molle Panel overlay for securing things down.Great work!
You might not like that shiny dash when you’re headed into the sun. It’s going to blind you and during the summer it will reflect the heat right at your face. Just a consideration. Maybe a good idea to find a dash mat just incase.
I wonder about he legality of that dash. Where I live you would be towing your vehicle home.
They'll probably painting it black.
@@swapnilmankame Or yellow!
If only someone would invent some sort of spray on coating that could change the colour and/or finish of surfaces, preferably in an easy to use can with a button on top.
@@ForeverNeverwhere1 I'll get right on it ~8^)
Makes me feel old when I see a young pup like that with so much expertise and skill. I'm sure he went into heavy debt at some "college" to get that smart.
4:02 (ish), its crazy that you can actually see the metal pop with one tap of his body hammer. Body work fascinates me. It goes along with the story of the mechanic, the big engine, and a hammer.
$5 to hit it with a hammer.
$9995 for the expertise to know where, and how hard.
America's new "Sweetheart" Lizzy. That young lady couldn't be any more apple pie. Nice work raisin' that kid. ;)
I want to see a rematch of the Banana vs the Morrvair after you finish the upgrades!
Paint or cover that shiny dash because it will reflect the sun like crazy on your windshield. 👌🏼
I'm impressed with that young man!
Wow, Robby is the master! Great job!
Safety glasses are a must when cutting metal with an angle grinder.
I will watch all the ads you need to help cover the financial component to the current B.S. you guys are in. Always helping people in any way you can should not get you in hot water.
“Build” videos are interesting. The first part went too fast. Glad you slowed it down. Great series.
Sure looks much better than my old days ; where Bondo fixed everything ....... though fuel mileage fell as weight of vehicle was much heavier ..........
Recovery vehicle or rock crawler. Great video, looking forward to the finished banana.
Matt! Don't polish the dash, for your own sake. It would look amazing but the reflection against the glass will drive you nuts. I've made this mistake, matte black or carpet, anything to stop the glare.
Otherwise it's going to be an awesome little work Jeep. GJ team.
Stay positive and have a bag of chips and Mountain Dew for breakfast. No matter what happens, your fans like myself know what your all about. Just keep giving us Trevor's spare tire rides and shenanigans in the middle of the desert. I just enjoy seeing you all laugh and have a good time. Don't loose that over petty things. I've been in worse trouble and i can say there is a light at the end of every tunnel. Just seeing you all reminds me of how i am with my friends when we get together and you are all family. Family sticks together and gets it done. Don't worry, be happy!
Yay 😊 great 👍 jerb as always... can't wait to see 👀 it after 'paint'.
You may want to consider some flat black on that shiny dashboard cover. it will be a reflective issue in the sun...of which you seem to have an abundant quantity. Love the channel, your family employees and friends. Merry Christmas from Acton On. Canada
Good ol Rudy, the welding genius!
They tell me to take the car to the panel beaters, but now I truly understand the meaning of the name, they beat the panels into place, hence the name.
i think the sun is going to reflect and blind you off that stainless if you don't paint it.
nice to see the other side of the steering box
Love the build videos. Thank you for keeping us entertained.
Lady was embarrassed when she had to wear the safety glasses 😁😁
If you take the welder gun and and bump the trigger enough for gas to flow without sending more wire, it will put out the fire right away! It saved a lot of breath as well!😂
That banana is going to be so heavy, but guess what still going to be a damn beast! I love all the work you guys do! I've been watching since you had 200 thousand subscribers! You've guys came a long ways! I want to get stuck out their just so I can meet you folks!❤️
Matt....I would like to see you address the recent KSL article? What your plans are with youtube and stuff
I doubt you're going to see him comment on an ongoing case on youtube. Your best bet will be to go bury your car to the frame at Sand Hollow and have him pull you out. That will buy you some of his time.
Did I see Miss Lady smile? She is such a cutie!
Safety Lady represents safe shop dog procedures!
0:08 Lizzy's "Howdy howdy let's get Rowdy" now makes much more sense.
8:59 Lady showing you how clean her teeth are. Good dog!
You should put rock sliders along the drip rail. Problem solved 😬☺️☺️
Stainless shiny steel dash is gonna be a wish I hadn't used shiny the first time the sun reflects off of it...that is unless you're planning to paint it? 🤔
Really enjoy the videos! Glad that I found your channel! 👍
Oops...my bad, hadn't paid attn to that in the MORRVAIR...carry on Matt...I'll just watch Lol
I remember when Matt was opposed to adding a winch and beadlock wheels because they added weight. Curious how much weight the banana has gained since the channel got started.
Wow, 1,000,000 subs right around the corner!!! Happy Holidays!
My buddy recommended the channel and I do enjoy it. Makes me think back to my 62 willys Wagon days. Won't a shiny dash, cause visual issues with reflection ?
I like the safety glasses for the Dog 🐕.
Safety first... for Lady, third for Matt
You may want to paint that dash. The raw metal is going to give you hell when the sun is hitting it.
"It is easy." You should have cut to the cameraman running up some hill in 100+ heat after the Banana.
oufff Trevor won't be happy when he will see Matt saying being a cameraman is easy 😂
Lady in safety glasses should have been the thumb nail for this video!
It would be interesting if you had a webpage with the specs & mods for each of your rigs. Stuff like axle weights, tire sizes, engine specs, body mods, etc etc
I like the way he wears his safety glasses on TOP of his hat....
Can’t wait to see what happens next
That's was the Eddings room that you windshield in ? Outside in back seat
CONGRATS ON 900K!!!🥳🥳
Hey Matt I’ve seen what’s happening to you and morr just wanna say I think your a great guy and your gonna come out on top
A grinder and paint make ya the welder ya ain't!
driving that thing on a bright sunny day is not gonna be fun with a polished stainless dash, but hey, you can always drive with a welding helmet on to beat the glare👍
Please consider putting at least padding on exposed elements of roll cage. With pipes like that inside even minor T-bone or scratch (without your fault) on the road will most likely end up with serious head injury or even death. It's funny to repeat "safety 3rd" until suddenly it isn't funny anymore because got hurt
Same with the Morrvair, I cringe when I see front seaters without a belt and that cage cross-bar just at front cranial level, ready to crack skulls on a frontal impact.
Just some pipe lagging taped on there would help, but I’m sure you can buy Velcro retained wraps of various sizes, for a more professional look.
Same goes for the two top spine bars in the Morvair… hitting those on a roll-over cold be a killer.
Please consider it guys. ❤️👍🏻🇬🇧🇷🇴
@@clivehorridge competition off-roaders in my neck of the woods actually built roll cages outside of the body
*padding was the word* I had in mind but could not think of it. This should be used on the Dash as well, I guess we can trust that Matt & Co had already something in mind. I remember the time the MORVAIR was build, and when they figured out the seating, Rudy, Lizzy grabbed a hold of the cage, I thought "darn it in a case of roll-over those fingers will be lost" another person mentioned some grab-handles off the cage. Well in the finished project it was implemented..
That shiny dashboard is going to reflect a lot of light. Hope that gets covered up. Oh, the dogs aren’t bothered by the bright welding light?
Next build- 5.9 Cummins swapped Tahoe. 😁
Don't hate me for saying this, but you may not like the glare or reflecting light on the windshield from a "Polished Stainless" dash on Sunny days. Throw a piece or two of white copy paper on dash to get example 🤔
I wonder how bright that dash will be in the hot utah sun in July
@@MattsOffRoadRecovery glad to hear it. I was cringing otherwise. I normally work night shift and only venture out in the daylight for shop with a cop type events. We take the kids we selected in a few days here :)
Yeah, it's a cool stainless dash, but will it make the Jeep noise?
*Rattle, rattle, bang**
Oh, and won't having a roll cage induce Matt a to try a shenanigan that produces, you know, a ROLLOVER ?!?!?!
that dude is a damned sheet metal whisperer.
Windshield defroster vents?
8:59 lady ❤️
Only in the southwest do you see a guy wearing a parka when its 65f... I take it there is no need for windshield defrost vents?
Hi , I'm confused ; How can Robby use the Lift arm's ? Don't they swivel towards the center , for adjusting to lift a vehicle ?
Hope you guys got some kinda answer for that reflective Dash. That's going to be absolutely 💯 crap in the bright sun.
Matt has already cummented
Matt's Off Road Recovery
,OK did any of you watch the MORRVAIR build?
I know a guy. Lol
Upholstery comes after paint
Ugh, don't use stainless for a dash. Sun reflections for one thing, and it will also always look filthy.
Love you guys love this channel
That Thing Is Going To Be So Good You Wont Want To Use It
Nice work mate, can I suggest though from experience, that you paint the dash top so it's not "shiny" as the sun reflection is a real bitch.......
Nice to see Kyle Rittenhouse working on the banana. Proud to see him part of your team.
I'm a new subscriber and I really enjoyed the video and I cant wait for more
Mat why don't you add hooks on the cage to hold your ropes to keep the back organized
Banana needs to be painted cream color inside
Love these videos Matt especially the Sunday banana ones, does anyone know the music in the video? I love hearing the song every video but I can never find the name of it
I know it's already done, but you're going to regret that shiny dash cover. The glare on the windshield will be awful...
Nice cage though.

he's not using a claw hammer!
Hey Matt, why didn't you make an outside cage? was thinking on doing that myself to in order to reduce risk on panel damage. Just wondering, Cage looks great!
Auto body 101 with robby
Better hope Trevor doesn’t hear that cameraman comment
Please use eye protection when using anything to cut with....... Please!
Matt, I thought you might like to know, you are so popular that I just watched a video on a channel called Nathan's Money Matters about how you have become so successful on You Tube.
better get the air working!
Rudy is like: a rollcage is just a three dimensional gate.
Nice work!
I am waiting on the “Mattracks” build from you guys. I know it is coming. I just hope I’m still alive to see it ;-)
That guy is a Flippin genious!!!!! wow does he get a date with LIzzy? or do I?I'm only 53 is that too old?
I LIke ice cream and doritos chips n salsa long walks across the dessert under the influence of a drone
Check out 8:59 and see a dog smile LOL
DUDE!!!, Please use eye protection when using a cut off tool. I've seen TOO much eye injuries from not using protection!
378 Video's later and I am FINALLY caught up! lmfao
Robbys face when Matt said "I can't believe you did that with vice grips and a couple of ratchet straps" was priceless. I bet behind the smile he was thinking "vice grips, ratchet straps, 20 years experience and finesse with the correct hammer, yeh sure was easy, that's why you called me"
just what i was thinking
yup the pros always make it look easy, that is why they are the pros.
I understand the idea of reversing the impact, and I could pull out the bends. It would end up looking wavy and uneven, though. I would also spend the whole day on it, and it would never look right. The mark of a real professional is the ability to make it look easy.
