Check the float-level. When you stop, the fuel keeps moving forward, away from the main jets and the engine could be sucking air.

the answer is “i don’t know”. i am paid to fix it not find out why, why would require significantly more time and most likely a camera recording what you were doing and what you clicked.

Whatever you do while changing jets, DO NOT put a safety net underneath to capture the one you want to drop into the engine! ROFL Query: Would a dashpot on the carb linkage prevent the engine stalling out when you dump the throttle fast? Or would that cause driving problems in a race situation? More problems, that is, than the engine stalling out? You're in luck, Jaymie, with those sunglasses on we can't tell whether your eyes are clamped shut or wide open in stark terror!

Weld an o2 bung + sensor into exhaust, a gauge for the driver to tune as you drive and stop guessing. They are too cheap to not use. Mounted mine permanently with a vac gauge and my q-jet is now tuned like efi + easy to monitor.
Have you thought about putting a fan on the oil cooler? You will probably need one with some ducting in the one your going to race. I was just thinking out loud. Just a thought. 😊.

Are you allowed to drive unregistered off road vehicles on your public roads in the US. If we did that in OZ, we would be toast, quick smart and a lot lighter in the pocket.

It’s not legal, but depending on officer you may just get a warning, or if there’s no one there, most people won’t say anything unless you’re being super obnoxious about it.

Important suggestion... During the Morrvair diecast signing Jaymie needs to put the product down on the table in the same orientation that Matt signs. Matt is having to rotate "every" product to get it orientated for signing. Food for thought...

Corvair, Volkswagen Beatle, same old thing, high maintenance and stay broken all the time, like trying to keep a chainsaw running good.
Should be doing FREE Recoveries by now just like fab rats ! You're making so much money now.
When you want to change the vehicles direction of travel (ie Katlin). You need to shift the weight of the vehicle to the front wheels. You do this by decelerating/ braking. If you have the rear wheels coming loose in a turn, plant them by accelerating. Always do these in moderation. Smoothness = faster.
That corner where Katlin hit the cactus, she set up late for the turn but applying the brakes moderately would have planted the front wheels and may have shortened the turn and saved it. The inclination in this kind of situation is to just take your foot off the pedals which will let the whole vehicle drift.
When i get my truck stuck, right before i call for a wrecker i count up my cash to see if i can afford it, asking for a ballpark figure seems logical, otherwise, if you're not worried about getting paid, the last thing i want to do is annoy you.

Matt, there is a Corvair for sale out here on the East Coast. It is in Maryland, on the Eastern Shore. Painted bright red, I have driven by it, never stopped, so do not know any details. If you would be interested, I will stop by, and find out more, take pictures, etc. Reply here

With all the contacts you have developed over the years doing the channel, why are you not doing coilover shocks which would be so much better ?
I've not had much luck with mishimoto radiators either. the warranty is great but when it takes them 3 attempts to send you one thats actually usable I wasn't too impressed. Took them a year to send the first replacement too. 😑
The great thing about rags is you can put them over something that has a hole under it. That would prevent you from losing stuff.
