I've been researching both vehicles separately. Your video comparison is by far and away, thee best & most comprehensive video I've found.
Odd as it may sound, the center console and front cab storage is one of the single most important features for me and no other video covers that as thoroughly as you did. Thank you!
Glad you enjoyed the video! Thanks for the kind words
Since they are so close in score rating, I’d choose the Toyota Tundra for its reliability.
When ford started the ecoboost engines in the f-150, toyota fanboys talked a lot of smack about unreliability of a turbo v6 and now that toyota got rid of the v8 there’s no option at all but to get the tundra with the turbo v6 😂. It’s a shame toyota would get rid of the v8 cause many don’t want the tv6 but atleast ford gives the option to get the coyote v8.
@@bullymaguire4457and the new Toyota twin turbo V6 has not been proven to last yet so who knows.
Toyota is not reliable anymore

@@Slaxsvo why is that funny? I’ve had several issues with my 2022 sienna and a friend has had his new tundra in the shop multiple times. Far cry from 5 years ago
Had a 2015 Tundra 5.7l TRD offroad. It appeared to be a Super truck for Snow in NW Ontario. Ordered a 2022 Tundra trd offroad, longbow, with no hybrids available. After waiting 10 months with no no delivery date, I found a 2022 Ford F150 XLT fx4 302A hybrid at local dealer. It handled everything Winter could throw at us with no fuss, gas mileage better, passed semis with ease and just a fantastic Winter highway cruiser. I upgraded my Tundras lights and sound system. This ford had great LED lights and sound system. My new best truck. Plus it is faster than a raptor and Tundra 0to 60 5.3s. I cannot feel the shift from from Hybrid to gas. Handled better than Old Tundra. No theatrics, just does it. However I have not taken offroad and probably won't too much. With KO2s it will do what I want.
Bought a 2021 Lariat 4x4 crew cab long box Powerboost. 501a . Love it! First fill up DTE was 645 miles. Power to spare and handles perfect in the snow.
I'm a Ford man but that Tundra is amazing. I'm going with the Tundra. Now if I can just FIND one.
I'd stick with the Ford F150. I can;t seem to escape the feeling, that the Tundra's grille is more akin to a bloody great gravel dump truck, if spotted in your rear view mirror...
@@davidhamilton506 I ended up with a 2022 Lariat FX4 in Anti-Mater Blue and put a little more aggressive Wrangler Ultra-Terrain tires. Drove it up here to Alaska and is going like a champ. After reading etc. the Tundra just didn't seem like it met up to the hype.
Resale and durability on Tundra is vastly superior. Everything else would probably go to Ford. I went with the Capstone
Very hard to pick but your content never upsets us! Keep it up!!
The big difference between these two is that one is a Toyota! I'll take the Toyota EVERY TIME!

I really like this. But you will give points in some cases for things that are just different vs better or worse. Like wheels - bigger wheels especially on a truck are not always a benefit. They give a rougher ride, are easier to damage.
And most importantly, they lower your tow rating.
That's what I was thinking too. I would rather have the smaller wheel and more sidewall on a pickup
For me personally I don't use my trucks to tow anything and it's all about the looks to me. The 22's look more high end like the Chevy High Country which I just traded for the Toyota.
I'm rolling with the Ford F 150!
Ford, hands down ! #1 selling truck 45 years and counting. I don't blame Toyota for ditching the V8 and coming out with 3.5 twin turbo hybrid and ten speed transmission. It works for Ford. I think the 7.2kw generator feature that can power your house for a week was worth more than a half point. Yes you did leave out some features such as zone lighting, flat work surface and lay flat front seats. I have nothing against Toyota and i own a 2019 Avalon Limited, but i also have a 2015 F-150 Platinum 3.5 Ecoboost with every option and this has been the best truck i have ever owned. I'm looking forward to upgrading to a 2022 F-150 Platinum hybrid soon !
Nice choice! Make sure you place your order so you dont have to pay a dealer mark-up. I am loving these new cars coming out. I work for Ford and the product is deff great!
Get the limited
Actually GM outsold Ford in 2021 and looks like they will again in 2022. Ford uses deceptive advertising because while they do outsell Chevrolet and GMC, combined this is not the case. The Silverado and Sierra roll off the same assembly line and are virtually the same truck accept trim.
@@randallzook5570 He's talking about the F-series trucks. GM has a huge fleet rental contracts whereas Ford does not given they don't produce any sedans anymore. The Explorer, Mustang, F-series and Expedition outsell anything in those segments
Ford and Gm are all Garbage they spend more time in the shop than on the road, not trying to offend anyone so don't take this personal

F150 has so many features more than the Tundra that this video didn’t cover like surround work light, built-in payload scale, more advanced battery tech, etc. it’s just a more high tech and capable truck.
Exactly, and that was just the Platinum. The Limited would have nailed the Tundra Capstone.
Yea my f150 is constantly in the shop getting something fixed. The pos has been in the shop 45 days last year alone. You idiots who talk about all the bs features on a f150 vs that on a Tundra have never once owned one. If you did u would do what I am doing, sale it for a Toyota 2022 Tundra.

My Tacoma hasnt been in the shop even once in 15 years and Offroad, haul, ect. That alone speaks volumes to me. Not one repair.
I hear you. You got a truck right there!
I feel like some of the F150 features were underrated. Tundra has nothing on the 7.2k generator. No mention of fold flat front seats. Better mileage rating of Powerboost and it's faster too.
I agree, also giving Blue Cruise the same .5 points as a supposedly nicer looking tailgate on the Toyota is insane. Blue Cruise is a vast feature upgrade vs the Tundra. It probably deserves 2 points as it's actually an array of features.
And they conveniently left out the fact that there is zero umderseat storage in the tundra.
They left out tons of features that the Ford has in just the XLT alone that aren't even offered in the Tundra. Toyota must have wrote a nice check for this review. How can acceleration get the same score when the F150 is a full second faster from 0-60? The Ford would dust this Tundra.
once it comes to F150 trailer backup assist...game over!
The tundra looks better an sharper. Both trucks have there pros and cons..I don't think you can lose with either, the tundra looks and have better warranty and interior for 76k
I am a die hard Ford guy. Cross shopped the F150 and Tundra. You get so much more in a Tundra for the same money.
This was a really great comparison of the 2022 Ford F-150 vs Da Toyota Cappa!!
I’ll take the tundra, I love how it looks and I think the interior tech is slightly better plus its just different, everyone has an F150, I wanna have something most people don’t, I just wish Toyota would add a power onboard system like ford
Yeah only 200w is kinda lacking, i know toyota has the capacity to get at least 2 or 3 kw
The tech on the 150 is lot better
@@JamesThomas-dn6ee indeed, they don't even mention max recline seat and folding tables, also f150 limited have very high quality full leather seats.

Tundra looks better in my opinion. Overall, both trucks bring a lot of features to the table. Yeah, Ford has things that the Tundra don't have, but ultimately and on the more practical side for me, it's not enough to make me pick the F-150 over the better looking Tundra. Not bashing Ford in anyway though. Over the years of my friends and I driving and owning Toyota's and Fords, the Fords have been in the shop more. That's just my experience with the two brands. Nothing against all the Ford owners/lovers. These two particular trucks are too much for my pockets anyway. Lol. In the near future, I'm either gonna order a Tacoma TRD off road or the SR5 Tundra and add mods here and there over the years. Awesome video comparison of these two beasts!. Looking forward to the next video. Wish you the best!.
Id rather buy a pre owned Toyota rather than a new Dodge, Chevy,Ford

Wasn't expecting a tight race lol.
I was very surprised that tow hooks were not included to be compared between these two.
This wasn't a very in-depth review. They missed a lot.
There's awesome aftermarket tow hooks for the tundra..
New Tundra looks weird because they added 5 inches to the hood. I can't.
I will take that tundra, I really love the look
Of a gravel truck looming in your rear view mirror, lol...
The ford looks refined the tundra looks slapped together built ford tuff 💪
I give a .5 pt win to the tundra as I def would not have given a full pt to ford for metal speaker covers.
I wouldn’t have given .5 a point for having a whole generator in the back.
Thanks for the info. Have a 2022 f150 Platinum hybrid long bed on order, build date 3/7. Have a 2015 f150 platinum, so looking forward to my new one. I own a 15 Platinum also. I'm looking forward to getting a 2022 Platinum hybrid this year too ! I love my 15 Platinum and could never find a 2015 brand that could compare. The one i want is 75k, i think i can find the one i want when ready, but might build have to build one and the 15 is still worth 38-40k. Did you sell already or trading ?
At 84 mph on cruise control I got 21.6. Normal driving speed, relatively flat the best I got so far was 26.4.
@@JohnDoe-ix7oh you got 26.4?! Holy cow..
I have no first hand knowledge yet (my Powerboost is still on order), but most of the mileage will be city driving. There will be savings cruising on the highway as well. Mileage comes down to this: vacuum not boost. This has been true forever. If you use the turbos you're using fuel. A light foot makes vacuum.

Tundra looks way better and looks more modern. I will pick it over the ford anytime. I can't believe ford still offers engine hood mounted antenna in 2022.
Pure physics........ better AM reception than with a shorter, loaded antenna. The Tundra looks like a disaster with it's mismatched body panels and semi GMC design. The front grill and the rear section of the truck are literally disgusting. If that's your idea of "modern", you can keep it.

The f150 has a built in generator to power almost anything including a 220 welder or your house. Hands down ford!
good luck with that ford after 60k miles. Hands down Toyota!
That generator is the stupidest thing why not just buy a generator for a lot less money 😂 telling me you'll spend 60k just for a generator?
You’ll need that built-in generator while you wait for a tow truck to get you out of sand, mud, and snow. Got crawl control?
Right so when your gas/electric power source truck runs out of juice, now your without power to house and gas for a vehicle. SMART thinking!!!
@@kaikelii meanwhile that garbage toyota breaking down just after leaving the showroom hands down its a disrespect to ford to compare it with garbage like toyota...
As a truck guy: I go with the Ford one bro.
I'm not crazy about twin turbo-charged v6 hybrids but, I would choose the Tundra for it's historic reliability. The Capstone is the only trim package that I like but, if the only interior color available is white I wouldn't buy it if I were in the vehicle buying mood. I wouldn't buy the Ford because I just don't like the outward appearance. It might be a great truck but, if it doesn't appeal to me at first glance nothing else matters. I'm a forth generation Chevy guy, so there's that.
Considering the times in which we live I won't be spending money on anything that I can live without.
Which one has the 4wheel steering option?
Can tundra biggg screen be replaced with smaller one?
Tundra's reliability beats F-150 by a sold margin and hence Tundra is a clear winner 🥇 🥇
I don't think that the Tundra Capstone is going to successfully compete with the F-150 Platinum on a feature by feature battle. There are a lot of features built into the Ford that were not mentioned in the video. Where Toyota is going to bank is on reliability and quality. Right now, the new Tundra has been off to a rocky start, so 2022 may not be the year for the Tundra. I have no doubt though, that Toyota will get that all figured out and we'll have the world's most reliable truck in a Tundra coupled with newly updated design, features, and finish that will give Toyota a huge boost in full-size pickup market share. Will it replace the F-150....? I doubt it.
me to
Toyota already resolved the issues they had with their turbos. F-150 sales are always higher then Tundra since it’s the cheaper truck to buy for fleet trucks. But great point resale value & quality remain top notch in Toyota
Toyota has the battery warranty for 150k miles or 10 years
That can’t be beat !! Ram just dropped their warranty for the 48 volt battery in 2023 so right now I’m looking at these two but Toyota seems to lead in warranty
Ford much better for me I say
Hard to choose. I like both trucks 🛻
Nice comparison on these 2 luxury trucks. I would pick the tundra because of how awesome it looks from the outside as well as in the inside. Keep up the good work there.

Ah man... I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder. The Tundra looks horrible and the interior reminds me of the 80's
Ford F-150 my choice overwhelmingly 🙏✝️🙏

Yep like what about the zone 360 lighting and the nee up features the tie-downs built in to the tailgate an the beer opener
If the Tundra was made of aluminum like the Ford, I bet MPG would be higher. And since the truck would be lighter, I imagine towing would be closer too.
I have the 2022 Tundra Platinum. Very noisy ride with wind howling, rattling plastic interior. A big Tundra turn off is the lack of auto 4wd.
V35afts motor in tundra with hybrid dyno around 400 rwhp. They make about 475 hp at the motor. Toyota underrated them heavily. Plus you cant argue the tundra will destroy in reliability even with a new platform.
Tundra is destroying itself in reliability not others

Why didn’t you do the f150 limited since that’s ford’s highest end f150
I was thinking the same thing.
I believe they are comparably equipped and priced. The Ford Limited gets into the mid eighties and is in a different league along with the GMC Denali Ultimate.
It's 2022. Why does the F-150 still come with an aerial? Personally I'd pick the Tundra for the looks, but for the works and utility I'd go with the F-150.
As far as it being 2022 regarding the size of the aerial...... pure physics son, AM radio waves have not caught up to the new ages but have stayed stagnant since time inmemorial. Loading an antenna up can never replace a closer to resonant antenna. One other thing............. remember, longer is better. In the looks department.......... wow, someone hit that Tundra with an ugly stick.
Ford discussed this. A lot of Ford owners live in the rural area and AM is still king out there. I'm leaving out alot but that's basically the shorten version. Ford released an entire article about this.
If I had the 77000 I’ll definitely get the tundra over the Ford the investment is for the long run.
You'll get 80000 back when you sell it😂. Right now the used ones are selling for 15k more than new
Compare the same two trucks in 6 years when they both have 100,000 miles on them. That is when Toyota separates itself by huge margins from the pack. I've owned Ford, chevy and Toyota. Hands down the Toyota is much more reliable and the resale values proves it. I had to get rid of my Ford (I will confess it was a 2013 model but I bought it new) within the first 12000 miles the transmission was slipping and the engine would overheat. I had it in the shop for warranty work almost 30 day the first year we owned it. Once it was running and still looking new and shiny with all the bells and whistles Ford likes to put on their vehicles I quickly traded it for a toyota.
Already have 150,000 on mine (i drive a lot) not a single issue 😉
@joshgutierrez7380 that's great to know. The new tundra seems to not be up to the same standards of the last generation. I will eventually need a new truck. I have 200,000 on my 2015 tundra and it can't run forever. Unless I see/hear of toyota addressing the ongoing issues with the new truck, I may look to another brand.
The Toyota just looks better 😊
Tundra will spend less time in the shop versus the Ford !!!! especially on it's turbos !!! The Tundra overall will out last the Ford in the long run !
TUNDRA for reliability and better resale value.Tundra will always stay firm for many years.Don't care about amount of sales.Just value for my hard earned money.Others will outsell TUNDRA because they becomes useless after 2-3 yrs
Durabilty over luxury any day, toyota has that hands down

That would be the XLT Ford. For that price you can still get the same 12" screen and the 8" gauges. You can't get that on the Tundra.
Ford
Fun fact, Ford collaborated with Toyota on these engine configurations, then suddenly pulled off when they had enough knowledge to do it alone. Not shady at all.

I would choose the FORD TREMOR. It looks so good and has better features and packages
Stick with tundra, better looking and way more reliable.
All these upscale remodels should allow drives to option in smaller wheels. Perhaps they figure anyone driving an upscale pick-up will not be engaging in work with the vehicle, but I plan on using my pick-up to tow my compact tractor on occasion and my horse. Smaller wheels, say no larger than 20 inch provide a superior ride compared to 22 inch on highway, are better off-load, and are better for towing.
Ford definitely has some good features but tundra has ones that matter to me. Id have to go with tundra plus the stance looks much better then the ford and reliability for tundra.
Plz do a mid level trim comparison
Your scoring should be weighted. You gave the same amount of a score to the Toyota for sequential tail light as you did for the Ford having a 7.2 kilowatt generator. That generator is much more significant than a how a tail light blinks.
Ford F-150 not only looks better but is better with more features and better integration. When you consider reliability and all of the issues that the Tundra has been having, it’s clear that the F150 is a far better truck.
Love the tundra
Its been long since I saw Mason behind the wheels
I have yet to sit in the Capstone Tundra but I've been in a Platinum trim and the seat comfort was no match for a F150 Platinum. I also think the Ford has better tech. Downside with the F150 is the aluminum body panels, while lighter than steel, always seem to be rippled which makes them look like someone bumped into the door. You can see it in this video and you can see it on pretty much all of them on the road.
