2018 Civic Si Broken Mirror Housing

Walk through with me as I learn how to replace the passenger side mirror housing on my 2018 Honda Civic Si coupe. I don't know what caused the housing to break, but can only assume someone hit it in a parking lot.

Thank you very much for this. The key point, for me, was prying the mirror off of the gimbal. I had no idea that it was merely snap-fitted onto the gimbal, and that it could be gently pried off. I was about to return the housing and cap that I had bought and buy an entire new mirror assembly. After watching this, I was able to wrap up the job quickly. 😊

You have truly blessed me with this video. Every quote I got for this was to replace the whole mirror which would run me over $1000 for my 2021 civic hatchback. I knew there had to be a way to fix just the housing/skull cap and you were the only video I could find on how to do this. I really appreciate you making this video. The lowest quote to replace this was 800$. Another dealership quoted 1400$. I bought the genuine parts from Honda and replaced it myself thanks to this video.

Thanks for a very informative video. I paid approx. $75 for the outside housing and skull cap. Found it simple to replace with your instructions and saved probably $350 plus installation. Everyone told me I had to replace the total assemble but, thanks to you, I found out I didn't.
