- Опубликовано: 5 май 2019
- Honda Civic model years 2016-2019 (also called 10th Gen Civics) are prone to either dash rattles or A-pillar rattles. My car was also affected by this. This video shows how I corrected this problem.

Thank you for this! Rattle was driving me nuts! I used weather stripping to stick to those wiring harnesses instead of the felt tabs and it worked just great!
Finally got around to doing this fix and it worked ! Went to Home Depot got the pads and stuck them on in the same area and it stopped the rattle immediately , for anyone wondering if this works , it did , also another thing is making sure the green clips are in nice and tight , thank you for your help !
Brian you are a genius. I get this rattle every time the weather gets cold, I thought it was my glove compartment but it's not. Pretty sure it's the A-pillar after watching this video. Thanks!
I just got my 2020 civic sport coupe two weeks ago and it just started making that noise. I'm cancelling my appointment with Honda service and doing this fix tomorrow. Thank you for this video and confirming that I'm not losing my mind lol
got the pads, followed the video and no noise. Thank you!!! Saved me months of headaches
Great video! Almost thought this was an asmr video with all the tapping lol.
Thank you for making this video. I've had the same exact rattle in my 2018 civic for a while. I figured others probably have the same problem, so I googled it and it led me here.
I just wanna say thank you so much! This noise have been driving me crazy for the last 2 months, Honda were asking 500$ minimum to fix it. Thanks to you it only cost me 3$ at the dollar store!!
recently bought a 2nd hand 2016 civic rs turbo and instantly noticed this rattling sound. At first i thought it was coming from the air vents in the dashboard, but when i saw this video i tried pushing the pillars and the rattling went away. I followed the steps from the video and the rattling sound no longer exist. Thank you!!
Thank you so much! It sounded like it was lower on my car and was getting worse by the day. Finally figured out it was the a-pillar. Nice video!
Dude, you just saved me a huge headache with my 23 Integra. I was hearing something on the passenger side rattle every time my rpm hit around 3k or i drove over bumps.
I'll try this fix next weekend and see if that solves it. I bet it's the same process to remove in mine.
Liked, appreciated and subscribed!
I recently purchased a 2018 honda civic lx and its also just started making the rattling noise after driving on uneven roads. I pushed the A pillar trim in more and the sound would disappear for a while and it comes back! I guess this is the honda quality now..
Sweet! Thanks for fiddling! I have the same sound on the passenger A pillar in my EX but it only shows up in the cold of winter.
Jason Price Mine was the same way - noisier in winter.
Thanks for sharing this video bro! This helps a lot.
Worked like a charm, thankyou
+1 worked for me. Thanks for the video!
Thank you sir. was driving me nuts.
Thank you Brian
Thanks for this hacks... Have had the same annoying rattling sound with my 2019 civic sport..
Thanks!
Thank you. Cheers 👍
I bet this is the same as the a pillar rattles in my hatchback...thanks for this! Gonna give it a go for sure
My son has a 2018 hatchback with no rattles. My daughter has a 2019 hatchback with no rattles. I guess I was just luck! :) Or maybe, they play the music louder than I do!
My 2019 civic type r has the same rattles
@@dl9775 This works on the Type R and the Hatchback as well. My son has a 2018 Hatch Sport.
been getting on my nerves as well, took it to dealership twice and they never fixed the issue, I explained to them what was causing it and let them drive it to hear it. Hickory NC Honda service center don't know what they're doing. Ended up fixing this myself
Same with Honda in canada. They know the issue but don't fix it
Thank you so much for this video! Never knew there were bolts behind those on the pillars.
One question, did you disconnect the battery before taking it apart? I don't want an airbag blasting me in the face lol
I did not disconnect the battery. No airbag worries with this repair.
@@brianaustin1328 thanks dude, I'll probably be fixing mine this weekend. Have a good one and stay safe out there
@@tilghman123 you, too. Good luck!
I drive 8 gen but that is cool to KNOW thanks
Stop tapping! Thanks for the info.
Thank you for the video as have this on my type r , so annoying! Was planning on just cutting some sponge and sticking it on the underside of the plastic pillar? Did you need remove the battery?
I did not remove the battery. There is no need as you are not touching any of the airbag assembly.
@@brianaustin1328 thanks Brian. Just need to get a trim tool and this is on my to do list!
2019 civic lx same issue thanks
What's the size on those pads same issue with my 2017 si also the garbage roads around here are just ripping apart the suspension and clutch. so munch $$$ wasted on just paying for the car alone its good thing I love the 10th gens so much and the aftermarket is boss
They are small, about 1/2 inch circles.
my family has 3 civics (EX Si Type R) and they all rattle like crazy. love the cars but the rattle are prettying annoying. considering getting rid of them :|
Man I bought this car, I regret buying it and I hate those rattles sounds it makes 🤯
They are all easily fixed.
i do not know why these new 10th gen civics have not as good fit and finish as the older civics.
How do you like the clutch in the si? I can’t stand it in my 18 si!
If feels light, but it is livable. It took me longer to get used to the turbo. It doesn't like to be revved out like my older Si Civics.
I just removed the pillar cover and it looked way different than yours 😂 I have the Canadian version 19 civic sport sedan. It didn’t have a connector box or anything like that on the right side, the airbag was connected to the frame with a harness at the bottom. Anyways I put some felt pads on random spots and placed the cover back in it’s place really tight. The rattle is gone . Btw I took my car twice to the dealership and they were unable to fix it
Stop the Hammering
This might be a stupid ass question, but did you disconnect the battery before doing this so there was no risk of the airbag going off?
