    I can think of 1,000 things that a really big bucket could be used for, starting with collecting firewood cut to size where the trees are felled. Also mucking out cowsheds and like the man said, moving stuff around the farm. Carrying a chainsaw, fuel, spare chains, tools, lifting chains and wire rope gets to be a PITA really quickly - and I end up putting all that stuff in the front bucket - tractors almost never have a place for carrying large tools and other stuff!

    • @StoneyRidgeFarmer
      @StoneyRidgeFarmer  Год назад +3

      I agree...firewood especially!

      @@StoneyRidgeFarmer It's like this - so you've cut up a birch for firewood and need to get the pieces to the woodshed for splitting. Backing a trailer in there is fiddly and slow and one has to get out and move all those logs. If they are already in a bucket, you can drive up and tip the lot into the exact place where they are supposed to be. And no need to hitch up a trailer and then park and unhitch the thing. It's always better to have stuff on the front of a tractor because that's where I am looking and where I am going - I just wish someone would make a mower/topper that fitted on the front (OK, I know - no PTO drives, but even the self-powered mowers are built only for towing.)

    That land leveler is interestng. I was just thinking making soem box blade rippers just like that, using a thin rippers as a weak subsoiler so I can rip through grass for some areas I want to level.
    I wish we had more of the multifunction buckets over here. I hear they are darn near standard on UK tractors, but here we opt for separate buckets and grapples.

    Why aren't you making as 0:26 many videos as you used to

    • @StoneyRidgeFarmer
      @StoneyRidgeFarmer  Год назад

      I'm making 3 vids per week v/s 4 vids per week in most cases....it takes a ton of time and work to create this content and lately, across the board, views have been down due to the mind melting TikTok craze. I don't wanna make short videos....I enjoy teaching and having a "show" vs a "clip" of some kinda mess to show folks. Views are down so why work twice as hard and get 1/4 of the results.....I havn't had a week off from this in 8 years brother...it's tough!
