I’m sitting on a boat right now; last day of a trip from Chattanooga to Nashville. I’ve never been more disappointed by a vacation. The service, and just plain friendliness of the staff was abysmal… just trying to get a cup of coffee in the morning was always an adventure. Disorganized to a point where I thought this must be the first time they’ve run the cruise. By comparison, my spouse took the New England cruise and said everything was first class, amazing food and service, etc. She is disappointed, and even somewhat embarrassed because this is my first cruise. Never again. I never wanted to go a cruise anyway, and American Cruise did nothing to convince me I was wrong.
That's interesting. My experiences with ACL have been very good, especially the friendliness and the level of service provided by the American crew members. It sounds like your wife confirms that the type of service I've experienced is more typical for ACL than what you've experienced this week. I'm sorry to hear that it didn't work out better for you.
My wife and I cruised the Columbia and Snake rivers with American Cruise Lines in early April of 2024 and loved it. We signed up for another cruise in Alaska with American Cruise Lines next year.❤
That's a smart move to book another while you're onboard. It gets you the lowest price they ever offer. I'm jealous that you'll get to go to Alaska with ACL. That's one cruise I haven't done with ACL yet.
Ok also is it OK that I call you mr. zimerlind. The reason why is because in one of your videos you said that your real last name is a German and it is and that it was zimerlind (I hope I spelled it, right)
The Columbia River cruise was one of my favorites. I also really enjoyed the cruise out of Nashville, Tennessee, because it included a show at the Grand Ole Opry.
This YT channel "Jim Zim" should be about cruises and a second channel "Jim Zim's Trains" should be about your model trains, the YT algorithm would like that.
I should have elaborated. Assuming that you're an American citizen (which is what 99% of their passengers are) you don't need a passport because all ACL cruises are within the United States.
We are one of the entertainers for ACL and honored to be part this amazing organization!
Your videos have definitely put American Cruise Lines on my bucket list.
I love it Jim, especially your model train vids

Which ship were you on? We were on the West... were we cruising together?
I was on one of the modern river boats.

Nice video!
Hey, mr. Zimmerlin are your top five favorite locomotives in your collection still your favorite or did you update your favorites?
Still the same. And my favorite ice cream flavor hasn't changed in the last 50 years either. ha ha

My last name is spelled Zimmerlin... but everyone just calls me Jim Zim and that's what I like to be called.
What was your favorite American Cruise Line cruise? My wife and I want to do one next year. Its nice they allow drones

@@JimZim Thanks Jim
You need to clear that, with the cruiseline.
I think Jim has a "working" relationship with the cruise line, and does some of there promotional recordings

You say no passport is necessary? How is this possible??
I should have elaborated.

the RUclips algorithm is hurting your channel...
That is for sure.
