Wonderful videos of American Cruise Lines ships and cruises. I've watched several of them. Just love the aerial views from your drone. These ships and cruises look amazing. I will definitely give ACL a try!
Thanks Jim, it is nice to see the layout of the new Eagle. My wife and I have done 4 cruises with ACL and after seeing your video, I think our 5th will be on this ship. Oh, and I'm a drone pilot too but just recreational.
I agree with you about the entertainment lounge. Stage should be up front and an are for dancing is needed. I love your videos and hope to meet you one day on one of the cruises
Excellent video. This ship is definitely an improvement over the outdated Independence I just cruised on along the coast of Maine. I will be interested to see the cabins. ( You have a great voice for the voice-over!)
Thank You, awesome! This week The Eagle is now in week 4 of 4 of the Great Rivers of Florida. They'll be here in Green Cove Springs again on Tue. Mar. 5th.
This is the full tour of American Eagle, the first of the next generation of cruise ships of American Cruise Lines, as the ship does a cruise along the coast of Maine!
I’ve been on two cruise with American and have booked this ship for a NY Eve cruise and another cruise on the American Jazz next May. Everything is super convenient and there are many bathrooms in close proximity to dining, etc.
I had high hopes for a new build from American but this still retains the look of an upscale retirement community with the flair of a moderately priced hotel. Beige, blue and tan appear to be the dominant colors throughout, paired with a far too minimalist approach to interior design. Yes, these cruises tend to skew older but for those who are traveling and in their 70's, this is a generation that was raised on the music of Motown, the Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Who and other bands and artists of that era. What appealed to their parents generation doesn't necessarily appeal to them, though there seems to be a mindset that anyone over 70 belongs to the generation's that preceded them.
Very nice! How suitable would this type of ship be for doing St. Lawrence Seaway and Great Lakes cruises? Like the Pearl Mist does for ACL's Pearl Seas Cruises?
100% suitable. Since there are 11 more ships coming, and they'll be basically just like this... you could very well see the day when one of them will be on the Great Lakes and/or in the St. Lawrence Seaway.
You can get a tour of a regular balcony cabin at ruclips.net/video/QQpMp0zqPMk/видео.html and a tour of two different types of suites at ruclips.net/video/2aquRq_SKjA/видео.html Check it out.
Yeah, big difference, right?!?! Going from one extreme to the other! The thing is that I like all cruise ships. Every cruise I've ever been on, even the worst one (which was MSC) had some good things about it... and overall, I enjoyed every one of the cruises, even the one I enjoyed the least. So, big ship or small ship, I like them all. Each one has unique things about it that you can't get on the other ships. The thing I have really come to appreciate about American Cruise Lines is the casual, easy-going style... and the fact that they treat you like an adult. When I think about all the security on a mega ship... the security officers to break up drunken fights... the x-ray machines to make sure you don't bring aboard weapons (or God forbid, your own alcohol!)... it's so completely unlike that on ACL. They trust you. It's all affluent adults aboard. Nothing bad is going to happen... so, no one's uptight about anything. I really like it. And I especially like that I can pack the exact same comfortable clothes that I wear at home in my day-to-day life. I don't need to pack anything the least bit formal. I hate having to bring "nice clothes" for dinner on some of the big lines. But then again, I'm really looking forward to Icon Of The Seas... because I love cruise ships, and I love the idea of "if some cruise line had a ton of money and decided to build the ultimate cruise ship to out-do all other cruise ships, what would it be like?" I can't wait to see it a few months from now!
I might not be making any more Thomas & Friends videos. Or if I do, it will only be a few more, and rarely. RUclips changed how they pay video creators for that type of video. It's really not worth all the trouble to set up all the tracks and to make a Thomas video any longer. It used to be a much better deal. Sorry to have to share that bad news. Of course, all the Thomas videos that I've already made are always there for you to watch and enjoy. They won't be going away, or anything like that! Have you seen all 28 Thomas & Friends videos that I've made? You can find them all at ruclips.net/p/PLkO-vjewtPbdPaeytrqCFqamtRpvJ68_U
There's no rule that says kids can't be on the ship, but it's rare for kids to go on this type of cruise. Sometimes grandparents will bring their adult children and the grandchildren on one of these cruises, but it's rare. Generally, the age of the passengers is 50+
Do the river boats have a sauna/ steam room ? They don’t take up much space and possibly a better option rather than the underused study area ? Sauna / steam / spa are great places to meet fellow passengers and unwind.
I do really like your idea... But you'd be surprised at how often, on a ship full of senior citizens, someone wants to use a computer that has a printer attached to it. But yeah, if I were in charge with ship design, I'd definitely be looking in to the feasibility of putting a sauna in a space like that. That's a good idea you had.
@@JimZim it’s the first thing I check out on holiday. Nothing better than a steam / sauna / cool shower 🚿 before dinner. Really makes the evening more enjoyable. A nice way to pass that empty hour before dinner. Great informal meeting place too.
I'm not sure if I have. The easiest way to get a definitive answer on whether mobility scooters are allowed or not is to call American Cruise Lines directly at 1-800-460-4518. They would definitely be able to tell you.
Yes they are ADA compliant. Many people with disabilities of all kinds on their cruises. But also lots of excursions for people who love ti kayak, raft or horseback ride. Awesome
We both like Cocker Spaniels and we both like cruising... but other than that, no. We're not related or neighbors or anything like that... if that's what you're wondering. I recommend her because she has done a great job of arranging all my cruises. She and I have actually never even met in person! We met on an online forum for Cocker Spaniel owners, and our relationship exists 100% by email, telephone, and text! We were going to get our families together for an Alaska cruise, but the pandemic wiped out cruising that year. One of these days we'll get together on a cruise ship somewhere!
Nope, they don't. Not even the European river boats. They have to stay small, to fit on the river... and then have to be as light as possible so that they don't ride low in the water. Some places on the river aren't very deep!
The cruise I did was along the coast of Maine for 8 days. But as the days turn cooler in the northeast, the ship will work its way down the Atlantic coast, and spend the winter cruising along the Florida coastline. Then next Spring, once the weather starts to warm up again, the ship will work its way back up the coast to Maine again.
I'm surprised that no one has asked that until now! I figured someone eventually would! There was a passenger on the cruise who I noticed several times previously gave $2 bills as tips to crew members. I assume that's what that was. He was probably in the group that toured the pilothouse at the same time I did.

I'm glad you've enjoyed them. Thanks for leaving the comment!
I just love these videos. You make everything so appealing.
The drone shots are spectacular ❤
Glad you like them! The drone shots are definitely my favorites to shoot.
Thanks Jim, it is nice to see the layout of the new Eagle. My wife and I have done 4 cruises with ACL and after seeing your video, I think our 5th will be on this ship. Oh, and I'm a drone pilot too but just recreational.
I got an interview with your guys today wish me luck. I can't wait to be aboard this beautiful vessel.
Me too.. howd it goo
I agree with you about the entertainment lounge. Stage should be up front and an are for dancing is needed. I love your videos and hope to meet you one day on one of the cruises
Yes, hope they change that.
We're booked on this ship late 2024 and appreciate your indepth reviews - can't wait for the next ones!
we're here right now. We love it ❤
Excellent video. This ship is definitely an improvement over the outdated Independence I just cruised on along the coast of Maine. I will be interested to see the cabins. ( You have a great voice for the voice-over!)
I’ll be on the Glory next May and Eagle in July - can’t wait to see in person! Thanks, Jim!
Great video! Can’t wait until we enjoy the cruise on the Eagle ourselves in 3 days!!
Thank You, awesome! This week The Eagle is now in week 4 of 4 of the Great Rivers of Florida. They'll be here in Green Cove Springs again on Tue. Mar. 5th.
Very good video, thank you so much for doing this! Can't wait for our trip!

Great job in these videos! Beautiful ships!
Looks amazing, I do agree with the performance area.
It would be difficult to take a bathroom break without being conspicuous.
I’ve been on two cruise with American and have booked this ship for a NY Eve cruise and another cruise on the American Jazz next May. Everything is super convenient and there are many bathrooms in close proximity to dining, etc.
Thank you for another enjoyable video. Erin Teichman

I liked the interior design of the ship, and the comments I heard from other passengers were quite positive, too.
Loved the video, great info. Looking forward to more.
As usual - great job on this video!
Very nice!

Check it out.
Just saw it departing from Savannah!
The catamaran is a hull design, not a bow design. The “bow” is merely the front of any type of hull.
Thanks.
Thats a very nice sized ship. I wonder how this will compare to Icon of the Seas for you!

Thanks, William! I appreciate it!
Can you please go back to the G scale, Thomas videos? I love those please
Well, you will have to wait until Jim Zim gets back to making videos of G scale model trains from Bachmann, LGB, MTH Electric Trains and Piko!

Very nice indeed and just what we’re looking for but how ADA compliant and accessible is American Cruise lines and these new class of ships
100%.
I've definitely seen wheelchair-bound folks on these ships. They seem to get along just fine.
@@JimZim follow up question what about mobility scooters on board the ships have you seen passengers using mobility scooters?
I'm not sure if I have. The easiest way to get a definitive answer on whether mobility scooters are allowed or not is to call American Cruise Lines directly at 1-800-460-4518. They would definitely be able to tell you.

Does it run into bridges?
You've confused a passenger ship with a cargo ship.
Hope they have a full compliment medical staff and clinic on this boat. No disrespect, but everybody else n this looks like 70 to 80+ years old
It's an Inland passenger vessel, if there is an issue they will call local EMS.
It’s definitely not one I would go on.
Lots of retirees. Or for the party late crowd. Love it!

No room tour?
The room tour is in a separate video. You'll find it here: ruclips.net/video/QQpMp0zqPMk/видео.html
The rooms are mush larger than most cruise ships. King size beds and full size bathrooms with full size showers.
You didn't show the rooms....duh.
What a bad bridge design
