  • In this video you will get a full cabin tour of the most common type of stateroom on American Eagle... the new ship from American Cruise Lines, and the first in a series of 12 Eagle-class vessels from ACL.
    I'll give you a full tour of a Veranda Suite... which is what American Cruise Lines calls the balcony cabins on the 3rd floor of the ship. You'll see everything this cabin has to offer... including the bed, closet, nightstands, desk, storage shelves, chairs, bathroom, electrical outlets, and balcony.
    These cabins are typically priced about $2000 more than a 2nd floor cabin for an 8-day cruise... and since they're described as Veranda Suites and the 2nd floor cabins are not, people naturally assume that the 3rd floor cabins are better, and worth paying the extra money for. But in reality, the cabins on the 2nd floor of the ship are essentially identical to the cabins on the 3rd floor... and the location of the cabins on the 2nd floor is actually better! You only have to walk up one flight of stairs to get to them, instead of two flights to get to the third floor... and the 2nd floor cabins are on the same level as the lounge where cocktail hour and all the entertainment happens. So, once you've watched this video, you'll know the secret that can save you $2000 on a cruise on any of the Eagle-class ships with American Cruise Lines.
    By the way, I learned this secret from my travel agent, Caitlin Gallagher... and it's a perfect example of the benefits of having a travel agent book your cruise instead of booking it yourself, directly with the cruise line. Any normal person would assume that a "Veranda Suite" that costs $2000 more than a standard cabin must be better... but an experienced travel agent like Caitlin, who is a certified travel advisor with American Cruise Lines and almost all the other major cruise lines, knows things that like this that can save you money and help ensure that you have a great vacation. It’s unbelievable you do all the scripting/ filming/ editing and drone footage.
    Just one person where regular TV stations use huge crews in pre production / filming and post production. They would take over the entire ship with usual Television filming demands.
    I bet the ships crew hardly noticed you were there? What a find you must be for them saving them at least a $100k for the same quality product. Well done 👏🏻

    Thanks Jim. Those look like bathrobes in the closet. Good to know. I was hoping to see inside the Grand suite, as that's where we'll be this Christmas. Was wondering if there is a make-up mirror in the bathroom, and if the coffee machine is a keurig or something else in the Grand Suite--the stock photo looks different. We're all different, and we'll definitely want to take a look at the Sky Suite & Veranda for next time, as well.

    Love the videos. But I use the drawers on previous cruises. Hoping they will get the drawers by the time we sail in April 2024.

    Jim, great video! How was the noise level in room 311 next to elevators, we are booked in that room for a cruise this year? Thank you

      It was not a problem. You'll enjoy the room, and the cruise.

    Hi Jim, is the ship quiet at night? Do you hear the motors or have any movement to keep the passengers awake?

    • @JimZim
      @JimZim  9 месяцев назад +1

      I didn't hear any noise at night. Of course, the closer you are to the back of the ship... the more likely you are to hear the noise of the engines. My cabin was mid-ship, which is an ideal location.

    Is there enough room to push luggage under the beds after emptied?

    • @JimZim
      @JimZim  7 месяцев назад +1

      Yes, as long as you open up the luggage so that it lies flat. In other words, unzip the suitcase and spread it open before sliding it under the bed.
