Replacing a Hayter 48 Drive Cable.. Dump Find Mower

- Hi and welcome to Micks Mowers
In this Video I will be showing you how I and how easy it is to change a drive cable on a hayter 48.. this is also the same on a hayter 56 side drive model. this mower was saved from the dump / top so in doing so keeps it out of landfill . a new cable is around £20 so nice and cheap. if this is all that's wrong with the mower it will be up and running in no time at all..

Would you be able to show cable connections on a Hayter 48 490g if you come across one please?
I have one Im trying to get going for my son. Far from being an expert. It seems that the choke part has no connections to it to actually make it choke? Black plastic crescent shaped thing under top cover just very flappy. Thin metal its sits over doesn't move no matter what handle you press/move.
If you come across one it would be appreciated. Thank You.

Hi Mick, Thank for the video. Im trying to find a blade brake cable for a Hayter Harrier 41 319R. Please could you tell me where I can get the cable as I am not sure if they are universal to Hayter machines?

2001 Low hours vgc Hayter`48. Poor traction on anything other that level ground. New belt & cables haven`t improved it. Is it worth fitting a non standard notched belt to improve the torque/drive? If so, do any other Hayters use the same sized belt so I can order one that fits. Many thanks Mick.

Hi Mick, my Harrier 480C runs forward and the rear roller turns without the drive bar being pushed forward, what happening there?
May need a cable adjustment mate

That's what i love about your videos you don't hide nothing nice fix i have won two mowers on eBay today a masport rotoroller with a Briggs quantum engine and a mountfield with rear roller and quantum engine for 14.50 olny thing is no grass boxes 👍👍👍👍
Yeah that's the problem.. you don't always get the grass boxes
I love the Harrier 48 and 56, they do a lovely job and are bomb proof!
That's a sound bit of advice regarding the correct model number and new cables, there's so many variants of the harrier and if you get the wrong cable it just won't fit! It might be a good idea to do a shorts video on locating the model number for most of Hayters machines as the correct model code is key to getting the correct parts.
