I can see some videos, even those in Double Alpha yt channel showing scratches (lines) on the trigfer guard where the retention roller contacts. I wonder if that's the case for everyone? Does it really scratch that bad?
I was using BSG holster for 2Gun until my X5 LEGION came out while running . So I reverted back to what I know and love . Blackhawk T-Series L2C Overt . That's the same Holster I used on my Glocks / Shadow Systems . I've been using them since they came out and I've never had any issues .. I'm for sure gonna take hard look at this HOLSTER. I love the T-Series but I'd like to get something more suitable for Comps . That roller is ingenious for sure..

Nice quick review David! I m looking at this holster for uspsa but wanted to check if it will fit on the safariland ELS belt as they said it only fits on a 1.5” belt and the Safariland is 1.75” but my DAA race master-X fits….thank you!
Guinea pig here. The glock 34 MAX holster works great, but my glock can rock forwards and sideways about the retention wheels making it a bit noisy when moving about. Some foam tape in key areas helped a lot though...
@@coolgr3y997 tightening everything still lets the gun see saw a little. Thinking it may be a feature to help with the draw? Barrel on a 34 just barely pokes out from the bottom.
Bought one… the G34 does in fact have about a quarter inch of play rocking back and forth. Definitely not ideal and somewhat annoying, it still functions great.

Initial impression is I'm not crazy about the locking knob/lever (I need two hands to lock it and it's a bit low to be a natural/easy reach for me) and the gun is allowed a lot of movement even when it's locked into the holster. Otherwise it's secure enough, rigid enough, and adjustable enough.🤷🏻♂️
I was curious about this when I saw the initial prod emails. Interesting ideas, wondering if eventually they'll also make adapters to allow for mounting to like the BOSS hanger or Safariland type mounts.
I have a Ghost Thunder and really like it, but I can already see wear marks starting on my Shadow 2 from just a few months of shooting and a lot of dryfire. This Max holster may be worth a try, I'm not eager about the locking mechanism that a Hydra P would have. Slightly conserned about the ball joint though. I like to smash my hand pretty hard against the backstrap on the draw. Did you have any problems with it coming loose?
Assuming you have had a bit more time with it, how do you find it compared to the alpha-x now? A friend and I just got the insert for the x5 as well as the gun. My insert has arrived but not the gun. He has both and was surprised how easy it is for the trigger to activate if you dont put the gun in properly. For instance its almost impossible for that to happen with my S2.
@@TheHumbleMarksman The x5 trigger on alphax. The context is that ro's here were given a note to look out and possibly check these holsters because you could engage the trigger if being stupid. A silly argument as we can all demonstrate how to activate your trigger holstering in kydex if you are neglegent. But the situation does arise that even though I am careful, have been using this holster on my S2 for years (that doesnt have this issue) I could get checked for this holster and X5 and if he can try and insert it at an off angle and activate the trigger then i am looking for a different holster. Its silly but the situation I am stuck with.
After my first competition at the beginning of July, I immediately learned that I need a legit competition style holster for my Canik Mete SFX. Any advice would be appreciated. Great content as always, much love from Texas!
Regular P over P+ - but - it depends - if you want a locking holster or not. Hanger is a bit better on max but I personally like a locking holster - they are both great
the footprint of optic is the big difference. The R3Max is - in my opinion - the best competition optic right now. If you're OK with SRO then the legion is fine.
I have a Ghost Hydra P+ for my Shadow 2 Orange with a Tevosport gas pedal/thumblock for CO. If DAA made this with a cut out to implement the gas pedal, I'd be for it.
Would be much better to make this holster that allows a weapon mounted light, surefire x 300 , this would be a model for daily carry , but with same principle

@@TheHumbleMarksman well yes, but guns here in Norway are about 3 times the price of what it is in the us. So therefore i sadly do care for the finish. I just wish there was some type of liner in the holster after paying 200$ for it. So I don’t ruin the finish on my almost 3000$ shadow 2..
Your finish will be ruined by holstering and unholstering - there has to be retention somewhere on the holster where it contact acts the gun. CZ frames are notoriously inconsistent since they're manually buffed. I'm not aware of any holster that doesn't impact finish somehow someway.Possibly skeletonized race holsters are the only ones, but even then - at rest it's going to rattle in the holster and the trigger guard will show some finish wear.
Ohh thats sad to hear. Does it scratch due to the ball roller? I want to buy. Same situation in my country a shadow 2 blue is worth 3000USD. While I understand that scratches are part of using the gun, i wouldnt want to scratch it in the first pull 😂. It should last at least months or a year so I would just repaint cerakote every year.
Wow… maybe this is the only double alpha product that isnt a huge piece of overpriced crap (given build quality and durability). And yes that includes the alpha X, thats just an acceptable level of crap that works well enough so people dont complain…

I just purchased this holster along with the Xip mag pouches. Where is the best place to use loctite?
Hate ball joints. Usually strip out in my experience and for others I know. And funnily enough, Shadow 2 holsters fit Jerichos very well.

I like OWB, but something that pushes away from the body would only interest me in a battle belt.

It’s the same design ball joint as the alpha X - I haven’t had issues with my alpha X

I'm curious on the longterm of the rollers when they start to get debris into them. Mostly because I'm too lazy to try and clean out a holster.
Those rollers have enough clearance around them to allow any debris to fall right out.
which one would you stick with for CO, DDA MAX or Ghost Hydra p+?
Depends if you like manually locking holsters - the max is really secure and is my pick if you are OK without a lock

i dont think that is really possible..since the rollers roll over the trigger guard. you would have the light in the way.
