    One thing to keep in mind for new shooters: no one cares how slow you go, as long as you are safe. Be slow and careful during make ready. Be slower and careful during unload and show clear. Don't get ahead of the range officer during unload and show clear -- there is no prize for fastest unload and show clear. Take your time. Be careful. Have fun.
    If you do get disqualified, be a good sport and accept it gracefully. It happens, even to very good, safe shooters.

It's intimidating to get into but I believe universally most folks will find a very welcoming, enthusiastic and knowledible regiment of shooters. Watching this video will help new shooters with confidence of exactly what to expect prior to day one. And if there is any concern beyond this video, I would encourage them to go to a match as a spectator. They will see that not everybody is an amazing marksman. But everybody IS having a great time. Yes they are cheap and can mitigate a lot of the force, but having active ear pro that seals to your head is much better for the longevity of your hearing. Spend the dosh on the ear pro, your grandkids will thank you for it.

    • @TheHumbleMarksman
      @TheHumbleMarksman Год назад +1

      Of the divisions I listed - I'd try them for flavor. Then pick one and begin to learn more about the game.
      I wouldn't suggest leading off with Open unless you have tons of disposable income and can afford someone to make you 38 SC ammo. It's by far the most punishing of a weak reloading game - if you're making your own ammo you NEED solid process to make the things be reliable.
      Carry Optics is a great way to learn a lot about the game.
      Also - I just got my M card in Open now - so pretty pumped to be making progress there - but a long way from being a threat in M Class.
