The save corruption is driving me crazy. I can't play with my favorite saves anymore. Some lots crash my game when i try to travel there, build, or remove them. It doesn't matter if i roll back my saves; the corruption is back after a while. This broken game, piss me off !

I made a lot of excuses for this pack and I can admit, I take it all back, it’s a mess. I can’t believe they are staying tight lipped and not responding at all to For Rent’s clear problems.
also, damn, the last couple of EPs had really bad bugs on release. high school with aging bug, growing together with the teeth, now this with for rent. horse ranch seems to be ok, but that's barely an EP so doesn't count 🙃

One of the WORST bugs are tenant taking the items or selling the items in the shared spaces when leaving/moving, ( giving them way more money). I had a sim with 3000 simoleons leave her apartment with 34k because she took ALL of the shared space items.
Swear I spend more time waiting for patches to fix unplayable bugs than I do playing the game. I get the save corruption thing might be hard to fix, but there is NO EXCUSE for not fixing things like landlords literally doing nothing to fix some maintenance events or NPCs not spawning if you have fame turned off.
My sister doesn't have "For Rent" and she got infinite loading so it was the pre-release patch that did it to her. She also hadn't gotten Eco-lifestyle at release and got the fire toilet glitch.
yeah people haven’t realized that everything started with the pre release patch for a lot. I had infinite loading screens since then,too. A lot of people probably didn’t play during these 2 or so days so they haven’t realized.
The save corruption totally messed up a legacy game I’d been playing for 3 years now I’m so bummed about it- Was able to recover but it was a save after I made huge progress in my save so I’m leaving it untouched until I’m not angry when I think about having to do all that over again
You know this makes me glad I haven't played TS4 in over a month! I guess I pick good times to take a break lol. Can't say I'm all that surprised with all the bugs and such, it's EA ya'll should be used to low quality garbage by now.
I went to House Flipper 2 for another building game. Now I have bugs waiting to be fixed in their's too. It also makes me appreciate the undo function of the sims.

The only problem I’ve had with for rent is I can’t seem to figure out how to keep the renters out of my sims home unit. It’s not a shared space but they will just walk in unless I lock the doors. And I can’t seem to set the front door as front door anymore.
I don’t even have for rent but recently got, get together (literally just for the dancing skill lol) after the December update my game was so laggy/buggy and when I finally sorted out my CC and fixed it… it automatically updated for the January patch & now my game is back to shit
I cant even play anymore, my game froze when i was trying to save this week, never had any issues before, since then if I try to play its laggy and if i try to save it freezes. So annoyed, I've avoided the last few packs, including for rent because i didnt want to bring issues to my game but I've got them anyways 😢
Did NOT know about this patch update. But also GLAD I didn't get to DO it. I am DONE with ANY and ALL patches They have done nothing but Destroy my game even MORE than it is allready. Also I did NOT get the for rent pack either and NOT goung to especially after seeing and hearing just how BROKE the exspansion pack is. So ty but NO ty. EA will NOT be getting MY money for this pack. I think this issue is much bigger for them to solve right now and they would have made it worse if they did anything today. I don’t even have the renters pack and I’m having the same issues. My sims are basically trapped at home and can’t travel anywhere but vacation worlds, or the hospital. I can’t save any builds if I already played the family in live mode during that session. I had this toddler show up at the entrance of the property starving with no diaper changes. He was homeless so after 2weeks I just had my sims adopt him. The game is totally bananas right now. The teapot from the wedding pack keeps vanishing every time I exit the game.
BTW I would LOVE to say. I'd love for a ren-fair pack. Renaissance fair pack so we can cosplay our sims as medieval characters and have a potion mixing workbench for our characters to do alchemy! It could also be used with the magic pack to make those potions as well. We'll have more potions and have a new system! :o
So far, no issues, no corrupts (better knock on wood), I did yeet the entire rental lots on Tomarang and build vacation homes, but damn. THAT is a major issue tho. They better be working their asses off on it.
The bug I have had for a while now is that my Sims can't ask for a gift from Father Winter when he comes to the house. He puts presents down in the pile, the sims can give him a gift but not ask him for one. They had in the past been able to do this as soon as they say hello.
Dude I'm not joking I don't have For Rent and the update STILL broke my game. I can't even SAVE anymore without the game crashing my whole laptop! Let alone the cc vanished that was made last week, I can't even change eye colors in create a sim from base game colors. Is anyone on the same boat?
I'm getting bugs where my sims can't tend their gardens and are just stuck in a loop. And also I have the bug where the holidays in seasons are not showing for everyone. Two major pieces of game play:(
.... the proper resolution... siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiigh... seriously? that's their concern? they need to fix the apartments x.x sims in my save can't afford ones built. 4+ mil per apartment. had built some nice but simple apartments for a gen for not so berry and had that happen. and i know i'm not the only one having that glitch. and the game corruption issues, those seriously worry me. i've already had sims get stuck and refuse to move - after an item was struck by lightning outside the house
It’s great! Combining that with the TOOL mod and a bus shelter from the High School Years debug objects, I’ve essentially made the closest thing to a functional bus stop without having any busses pulling up
disappointing is right! i still cant make my own residential rentals without my game crashing and trying to load one of my haunted houses ends up with a never ending loading screen and i don't have a a apartment that over the 6 unit limit.... ugh i don't know why my game is so broken! i just want to play! why is it so hard! :(

It is. I think people without for rent is not having this problem. I didnt update my game yet so I am not sure but I think is rental system bug the game because it create new "lots".
It's the game. I have For Rent and I'm not having this happen. I had to do a fresh install and I'm diligently working on a new file. It's fine. Nothing's wrong with it. Nothing's corrupted. No errors. Even with countless mods, it's fine. I tried a new file, it's still fine and no errors or corruption. So there's something deeply wrong with the code and it needs a fix. Not surprised, of course. Get to Work is STILL broken.
I surprised I haven't ran much issues with the For Rent features on Xbox One. But that is likely because I haven't built enough space in my lot to make a second unit. Bye the way, I am using the same save that I played the Home Chef Hustle on with a Rags to Riches Scenario. It's going fine so far. The Discovery Quests did help.
Between them not acknowledging the save breaking For Rent bugs and them hiding comments on their twitter I just don't what to expect about the future of this franchise.
I wish they would fix the lipstick/lipgloss having no shine it’s been gone for the last several releases!😩I think I’m the only one who noticed since the color is still there but not the shine.😣
It's ashame that TS4 is filled with glitches every time a new pack comes out. It makes me (and probably others) think twice about wanting to play TS5 and expect similar problems.
I also had problems with my save file and I play on xbox so total vanilla and I was shocked and worried about my save file. I still have problems with endless loading screens sometimes and my sims and all sims around my household stuck and cant be freed by cheat when I play on rental lots. So for rent is absolutely unplayable for me. But I recognized it after the jewerly stuff pack. And since they startes working on the gallery many of the simmers I followed disappeard, and I cant add them to my follow list and others are shown as anonymus. And I cant even report all this because I am not able to open new cases and I dont know why. In the past I bought packs I wanted even if simmers warned about them that they are broken because I thought it wouldnt likely happen to me as a vanilla console player. And now that it hid me with for rent/the jewel stuff pack I stopped buying packs completely until they fix my game. And I play this franchise since the first sims game and played sim city and freeplay and mobile and put a few thousand in all this games. But its over now. It is obvious ea gives af about the loyal base game but is only interested in random players

I can't play for more than 15 minutes without the game crashing and I've only been playing in San Myshuno (Not a single lot has been changed to a rental and the for rent pack is STILL messing up my saves!) I've got a massive save with a bunch of edited townies and buildings and added holidays and I'm gonna have to re-do ALL of it. It's so upsetting 😭
I lost my three year old save the other night all because I tried to switch back a residential rental to an ordinary residential in Newcrest. My game froze. It loaded again but Newcrest wouldn't load. Then never ending loading screens when entering Manage Worlds no matter which world I tried to load. Then the game just completely crashed. I did a complete factory reset, renaming the Sims 4 folder and starting again. I managed to save the Sims I love but I still lost so much. My game was running perfectly fine before the For Rent patch. Upsetting.
I'm assuming that problems appear only when more than 6 units residential rentals are placed? they really should roll out an emergency patch. at least temporarily disabling the cheat that allows more units. just like they did with the teeth issue last year
They really need to fix infants as well. You simply cannot be a landlord with an infant in your household, unless you bring the infant with you every time you visit a rental unit. :(
Goth Galore just looks like stuff they left out of the grunge pack, doesn't look that gothy at all? I expected some long skirts and corsets and one of those lace umbrellas. The castle stuff looks cute though.
Hopefully they’ll get the for rent bug fixed but I wouldn’t be surprised if they just let it go and told people not to build lots with limit cheat anymore.
It's happening to people who stay within the limits too, as he says going over the limit just makes it more likely. I haven't gone over the limit on any lot but funky things have been happening
-I wonder if for those who 'save as' often and especially before quitting, if this is an issue (I have a vanilla save file with no mods and don't use cheats for when I get a new pack until the initial bugs are worked out, then re download mods an then play my proper saves).
I'm ok with the kits I love the goth one and the castle one may be interesting to use IF WE HAVE MORE LARGE ESTATES... but yeah if they aren't gonna fix bugs n stuff effectively, I'm gonna be sad. My sim is still t-posing.
The goth one is good to add more to vampire homes. I dunno where the medieval stuff will fit (it might for period style game players) but I still hold onto hope for some steampunk and futuristic stuff - just not as a kit! Hopefully your sims gets debugged soon
EA Fix the Bugs. I didn't pre-order the rent pack cause they seemed sketchy. still haven't bought it. I won't be buying until I get to hear it is fixed or I am not interested.

It’s not. I’ve now run into the same issue even after placing a 4 unit apartment in a save with no residential rentals besides the two that are already in Tomarang. And some are getting it even without For Rent
@@Polopony20. I am sorry to hear that. But the only issue I had was for a mod that corrupted my mailbox after the patch. In my new saves I have no issues so far. I dont own for rent but the path was fine.

I noticed theres a glitch where it doesnt recognize what traits youve bought already with your aspiration points.
Yes! I have this too. Its annoying to have to check out the sim's traits carefully so you don't waste points buying them again :(
I have that glitch too, I almost forgot about it. I have to be super careful and read 3x times what traits my sim has in order to nor waist points >:(

Aw man, that is the worst. You kind of lose all motivation to play that save anymore.
I really hope the maybe fix for lot corruption also fixed not being able to save in build mode. Why is Sims just ignoring us??

I experienced that too but even locking my doors hasn't helped they would still randomize show up in the house.

Surely the bug fixes can't be that far behind right? I know that bug fixes take some time but surely a save corruption should be top priority to fix.

I am having the same problem when saving, I thought it was my CCs after I saw your video and realized that is a game issue.

I saw that if you turn on fame it will fix your can’t travel problem and it worked for me.

Wow! I had hoped for some attempt to fix the for rent issues. The bugfixes mostly seem very trivial. I haven't encountered any of them in my game.

QUESTION: Did you ever have your terrain turn rainbow colors with question marks and if so, were you able to fix it?

-I wonder if for those who 'save as' often and especially before quitting, if this is an issue (I have a vanilla save file with no mods and don't use cheats for when I get a new pack until the initial bugs are worked out, then re download mods an then play my proper saves).
I'm ok with the kits I love the goth one and the castle one may be interesting to use IF WE HAVE MORE LARGE ESTATES... but yeah if they aren't gonna fix bugs n stuff effectively, I'm gonna be sad. My sim is still t-posing.
The goth one is good to add more to vampire homes. I dunno where the medieval stuff will fit (it might for period style game players) but I still hold onto hope for some steampunk and futuristic stuff - just not as a kit! Hopefully your sims gets debugged soon

I didn't pre-order the rent pack cause they seemed sketchy. still haven't bought it.
I won't be buying until I get to hear it is fixed or I am not interested.

Wait a minute. We're getting save corruptions? I haven't opened my game after the for rent update last year. Perhaps it would be best to wait till theres a fix for that.
the for rent has so many bugs that it's borderline unplayable.
I didn't bother to buy for rent. It looked so cool but I'm seriously sick of broken games.
I has to throw my hands up in the air when I saw the For Rent one. I still have units showing the 4 billion dollars thing.
The only error I had encountered here was the power company one.

It’s not. I’ve now run into the same issue even after placing a 4 unit apartment in a save with no residential rentals besides the two that are already in Tomarang. And some are getting it even without For Rent
They fixed these useless lag but we can’t play anymore

@@Polopony20. I am sorry to hear that. But the only issue I had was for a mod that corrupted my mailbox after the patch. In my new saves I have no issues so far. I dont own for rent but the path was fine.
