Yeah, the icon alone doesn't bother me much, but supposedly (I haven't been in the game yet), it likes to flash. That will annoy me. I really hope for a mod to just stop it lighting up.
My mailbox options disappeared after this update. All I have now is get mail or pay bills. No more voting, can't publish books, can't license songs. Idk but it feels like anytime they fix something it just triggers something else to break. I did a test and started a new game to see, turns out as soon as a sim becomes a spell caster and learns spells\potions that is what is triggering the mailbox to break.
When the base game remains broken, the webs of bugs and glitches will form everywhere else. Sims 4 needs to be scrapped and reworked. But they aren’t going to do that because it will cost them. Plus they will lose players because no one is going to spend another grand on packs to replace it all.
I am autistic and literally can't play, that pulsing just won't let me pay attention to anything else and triggers my anxiety... it is what it is I guess. Luckily I have other things I can play. Guarenteed though with so many others coming out, Sims 5 will not be on my wishlist.
Yeah. Speaking on behalf of the autistic simmers union, the pulsating cart was a bad idea. Plus, I have heard that there was an emergency fix it patch that came out today. Hope this fixes the social problem.
I don’t know that it will cause any medical issues for me, but I know that as long as it’s blinking/pulsing/lighting up, I will not be able to ignore it (which obviously is the point), and if I can’t ignore it, I can’t concentrate on playing and if I can’t concentrate on playing there is no point to playing. And if I’m not playing there is absolutely no reason for me to spend money on new packs, so I am assuming that the point of this is that someone at EA doesn’t like making money.
The problem with the Social Menu has occurred in my game. One of the two Sims I have played with this occurring is an Astronaut and her husband is Level 9 as a Scientist. Maybe this only occurs with Sims who are connected to off-lot-careers such as Detective, Doctor, and Scientist? I don't know but I do miss the interactions available in the social structure that was re-vamped not so long ago.
Just went into my game after the update and my Sims can’t interact with each other,Can’t knit, or play the guitar or do just about anything I think it’s time for a class action lawsuit for our money back at this point!
I am glad the game is fixed for some people. I am still having the save bug, I can not download from the gallery and walls are invisible when I try to build. Also I can't place lights or windows. I am frustrated. Thank you for another great update!
Im fruious over the ad button. It's one thing to add it, but to make it flash during gameplay? Oh no, f that. That will drive me up a wall and cause me so much stress while playing. I wouldn't call it a sensory issue for me, but it would definitely trigger anxiety
yeah sims 3 was the worst for that I don't miss sims 3 at all I hope it doesn't turn into that where they show things in buy mode before the stuff you have.
I had the Pie Menu bug where my sim could not click on themselves or any other sim. After some googling, I found a workaround. Apparently sims with a Singing Skill of more than 5 right now will not have working pie menus. I used the cheat console to turn my sims singing skill down to 4 (was 7) and bam. That worked... so RIP singing sims!
Woah! I had this issue. I had thought it was a mod or cc. So after weeks of digging around I gave up and just deleted the entire game, saves and all. And haven't came back since atleast not on my own computer.
@@Sumser0913 Oh wow!! I just got this issue yesterday with the update. I removed all mods, cleared cache, repaired my game.. the lot. I had given up for the night, then saw this video and revised my google searching and found the thread I did about the singing skill. So strange and random!
Apparently the same issue exists with the guitar and violin skills. How random. But they all tie into music…can’t help but wonder if this is giving away that they’re working on a bands expansion pack 👀

I think Sims 5 is going to be a dead series soon. With the rumors that project rene is multiplayer only and only lets you design an apartment and the forced ads in Sims 4 now. I don't see how the series will be able to compete against the major competing games like Life by You and Paralives coming out.
That mod thing, I get that exception all the time it will say something like couldn’t complete action “none”. No sim is associated with it or mod is flagged as broken. So I just clear it and clear caches and play my game. It doesn’t really mess up the game but I will lag a bit.
@@reading1713 nope. The BE reports do say what it’s attached to. The MCCC report is the same way. I chalked it up to being a phantom since nothing was happening. Most reports will tell you if a sim is attached or a particular animation isn’t working as expected. With this bug, nothing is attributed to it.
After this update, my sims REFUSE to follow any commands except walking to specific spots. They will not use the bathroom, go to bed, bathe, clean up…. So now they’re all miserable for no reason at all
I've seen others here mention the mailbox options were gone, I have that too and it's not related to Spellcasters for me. But when I went to become a Spellcaster I found out that just letting the cursor go over brooms in Sims inventory force closes the game. Not even clicking just putting the mouse over it and game goes poof.
HOPE the Sims 4 team FINDS a way to FIX the flashing in this update. Thats goung to ANNOY ME IF they DON'T. Do this team even take the time to CHECK thier updates ?? Just a thought. This is bad update thing is getting crazy. So again I HOPE they TRY to FIX this bug Issue. The game is broken as it is. Can this just PLEASE STOP allready. What about Sims moving out your favorite Sims are moving out, and then when you go back to get them, they're gone or play with them, they're gone good thing I have saved them in the gallery because I have to place them in the world all over again. That needs to be fixed and I have that button check so they shouldn't be doing that.
I'm having 2 new issues ... I couldn't replace my burned stove (but I could replace the burned counter) and I'm having trouble dragging items that should be movable (cooked food, books, etc.)
smells like they are going to start selling individual content. like a new sims store. they're claiming this is a "test" I'm betting that within a year we will have a new sims store with like individual hairs, or shoes, or make up, or whatever. if that button is going to blink at me every time i try to play my game because i refuse to buy bust the dust or modern menswear, then i'm going to be very upset.
I didn't notice the cart thing because I am too distracted by the fact that I don't have any menu when trying to click on a sim. Either the one I am playing or any other sim. Can't talk to anyone or anything like change clothes etc. At first I thought it was a mod update I had just downloaded but when I disable the mods it's still a problem. I even ran the repair but it didn't work.
I like these bug fixes. I do hope the gurus turn off the pulsing feature on the shopping cart icon. That animation isn't needed. And yes, we could do away with that icon unless there're simmers who don't know how to buy packs any other way.
How can you get motion sickness or vision problems from a button, but not anything else already present in the game? Tons of things move, change size, glow etc at some point. Doesn't make sense to me. Sounds like a stretch. I do want them to get rid of the button but not because people are claiming to be affected by it. Its just a totally unnecessary and tacky addition to the game.
because it's in the periphery so the eye strains to see it and causes ur eyes to readjust when ur not trying to, causes migraines for me and eye irritation kinda
I think some simmer are just overreacting to be honest. That shopping cart icon blinking is not better than that register icon, flashing in the game and its been doing it for years. Im glad I dont have it in my game.

I turn my ea app to offline before every update until mods are updated, but with the new pulsing button, I don’t think I’ll be updating anytime soon.

I don't even own Realm of Magic, and I'm having the same issue with the mailbox. So can't just be the spellcaster thing that's causing it.

The button is enough for me to never buy a pack again in the sims 4. We need to set a sign. The only thing they care is money...
Potential work around for the pie menue issue, though incredibly annoying in practice, is to use MCCC's option to command a Sim

The house selection screen already pulsates and I hate it. It's definitely a sensory issue.

There's a comment above saying level 5+ singing skill seems to be causing this. Is your sim a singer? Try to cheat the skill down.
