But you are 100% accurate. The only thing to add is the EMP is always off that requires manual activation and it doesnt disable anything, I cant even disable a S1 ship.
I agree with you 100%, vanguard was my favorite ship and the first one I actually purchased with cash but when 3.23 hit I had to sell it I just go back to a cutty black because the speed of the size two weapons was so slow on vanguards compared to all other weapons on other ships. I hope they update the speed of the weapons soon on the vanguards.
@@dietersdiy2304 dude the Gvsr repeaters are just copy pasted attrition S2 stats, we have no high velocity weapons for the vanguards bespoke guns and it sucks!
As of 4.0 the Vanguards don't even have a long range anymore, and emps don't work. After the severe QT fuel nerfs, almost every ship is now port-bound, and has to refuel before every jump. Good luck getting around larger systems like Pyro.
@@Crooked_Will Is not a joke. Most fighters now have .5 scu of fuel, which is enough to go from Microtech to Hurston, but not back. The Vanguards get 1.2 scu, which might allow a return trip to some places, but not all. In Pyro, that won't even get you to one destination, you'll have to chart your maps from one gas station to the next. Hooray, fun.
@@Crooked_Will it's still just distortion damage tho so you have to fall back on the old take the shields down first. I don't even know if the EMP can shut ships down anymore. It doesn't stack any more I think so above a certain size I don't think you have any hope of shutting someone down
@@Twidgyt emp can shut small ships down, and disto stacks to the point of power plant shutdown, but nothing else is effected really. To be honest, I’ve been flying the harb when I fly vanguards at all mainly. Those S5 torps are good for crippling larger ships, and it’s turret being 2S3 puts it above the warden.
3.23 absoutely neutered the vanguard... was my favorite ship, but it's almost totally useless now. The 4 nose guns are not on gimbals and with an atrocious turn rate you'll never hit anything. Also they removed any fixed weapon assist. No gimbals, no assist, the vanguard sucks now.

Sentinel has half the hull hp as the other variants so it cannot stand up for itself anymore Sentinel was never supposed to be the front line fighter, it's ewar while the others out in the real work Also don't compare to the f7 mk2, it's utterly busted and makes any ship look bad

Sentinel is hard to balance due to the EMP and the greater agility (compared to the Warden).

Right now I'm just enjoying the Warden's default weapons group and not having to dedicate one just for the EMP. We need more than two

Why is it that NPC vanguards always seem indescructible though? Can't just be bad server performance that makes them so tanky.
