My birthday is tomorrow so my next video might be a few days away! Make sure all you awesome people enter into the giveaway and hope you enjoy the video!
Harbingers high EM isn't a bad thing. It just loudly announces to your enemies that you've arrived and they have a small window of opportunity to flee before you obliterate them :) Note that this is the only Vanguard ship that features size 3 hardpoints on the manned turret, all other variants are size 2. So if you regularly fly with a gunner buddy then this is the one to have, but yes change out the rocket pods for some laser repeaters. For those reading this during Pirate Week, the "solar winds" skin for this ship looks amazing too, worth grabbing. Great review, safe to say I really love the Harbinger.
Yeah I love it, so much versatile firepower and combat applications. But it's a magnet for enemies and gets swarmed easily and then it's in trouble cause it has bad shields and hull for its size and slow speed.
Mines the Warden definitely. Been a proud concept backer of the Warden since day 1 and it was in fact my first ship. would love an updated video review of it next.
Have a happy birthday tomorrow! Love the torpedoes on this thing. If they somehow don't take out the target, you've got those big cannons to finish em off.
First of all, happy birthday and may you have many more of those in the decades to come! 🙂 I used to have the Aegis Vanguard Warden, bought with aUEC in 3.21. Unfortunately it disappeared from my fleet when 3.23 arrived. And now it's gone up so much in price that I can't afford it for a long time while slowly saving up for it again. I really loved my Warden back then and just hope I can someday add it to my fleet again.
As a long term backer I really like your channel and your great videos and formats. Beside this you forgot to mention two cool things around the Vanguard series ;-) 1. The Vanguard series is meant to be modular. The living module in the middle can be exchangend (in the future) with the Sentinel, the Hoplite and the Warden module. Not 100% sure if this still is the plan but in the past you could buy those modules separte in ship sales. 2. The living module will work (in the future) as a giant escape pod for the crew. Thats because it's main profile is that of a deep space or long range fighter and the crew must therefore survive for a long time (sometimes days or weeks) until a possible rescue. Both functionalities are indicated in the design: where the module is, you can see the large ejection hatch on the belly of the Vanguard.
bro what? are you a psychic? i just got interested in the vanguard series, and i go to youtube and your vid was right there on my recommended just posted an hour ago
Happy birthday man! Love your videos and hope you keep doing this for a long long time. Also I really hope the harbinger gets in a better spot soon such a fun shift but there's so ml many other ships that are stronger but much cheaper
Great video! The Vanguard Warden variant is my favorite, with the Sentinel a close second. I find I have better torpedo boat options then the Harbinger variant - I prefer a Gladiator for when I want to use size 5 torpedoes.
the harbinger is one of my favourites, the extra hitpoints when going to bounty mission is usually helpful for a less skilled pilot :) and the interior has some rooms for loot from ships or from bunkers.
Love your videos formats! With all of these reviews, curious if you could post a locked Google sheet of different KPIs and your ratings on these ships to view at a high level. Regardless, looking forward to your next video! Keep it up 👍
My first time *ever* killing a Hammerhead solo was in this exact ship. Back when it was a bit different about 2 years ago. It flies like a dream and has some really good firepower.
Warden was always my prefered PVE ship and still is, none the less i added a Harbinger last year and its great for heavier target or short mission while i pref the sustainability of the Warden with lasers for events and general play. I just feel so safe flying a Vanguard and it lets me get to where i want.
I have a genuine question. There was a button open door under the enginneering station a bug ? a storage ? engineering component ? at 5:26 (please don't roast me on what it might be)
I struggle to decide between the harbinger and the warden. On paper it’s the Harb, hands down. It not only has the added torps, but it also has size 3 turrets. I feel a lot of people underestimate the power of a fully crewed warden. That turret is extremely well positioned.
I'm debating if I get an opportunity to buy either of them, which one would I get? Which do you prefer and why? 😁 the F8 looks great, but I want something for PvE and the possibility to protect my friends. Zero interest in PvP by itself. Which should I buy? 😅 (I'm lost lol)
I melted this and decided to go with the Scorpius and Lightning. It just feels so hard to hit ships with, I couldn’t stand taking it out for Bounties. But I’ve switched back and forth between all the heavy fighters so it’s probably better just hate the mobility so much
all i want is a valkyrie with the turrets set to forward fire. and maybe a shiny metal finish. it would be a ship i would fly till the end of the universe. always my first buy on every reset
The Harbinger is very much my favorite Vanguard variant. I think most players prefer the Sentinel and its potential EM gameplay, but I prefer the Harbinger's ability to hit hard with guns and those size 5 torps. I think it's also the only ship that comes stock with Jericho rocket launchers besides the Mustang Delta. Not too many players like the Jericho rockets because they are dumb fire, but I find them very effective vs ground targets, and if you're skilled at leading your target without a pip they can be effective ship-to-ship as well.
I really love the idea behind the Vanguard and think they are one of the best in game for all around use. However, looking from it up top with its big bird-like torso and its tiny flappy wings i can't see it without thinking about penguins XDDDD Can't wait for the heavy Mirai which could be a big contender for this roll as well
Great ship love it with the solar winds paint. My problem is the price compared to other ships… maybe it will be better one day. Also the gun velocity is slow so you have to really lead your target more than other ships. I love it and I hate it. Hope it gets buffed with engineering
well, the Harbinger is the only ship that might tempt me out of my Warden. I will probably have to get one eventually. that bigger turret... but I REALLY love my Warden. and I have the perfect name picked out for it. Which is really the only thing holding me back from the upgrade TODAY. (I'm sitting on a CCU)
@@EvenLease44 Coming to a rolling stop feels like enough for me to look into the smaller wheeled craft, sounds like a fun way to land if horizontal landings are possible.
I like the Vanguard’s a lot, am saving up for one but they are extremely expensive if you saving in South African Rands, what would you say is the best variant to buy with real money Mr. Evenlease?🙏🏻
Hey man I enjoy your videos. I am curious how you gave the harbinger a 9/10 but the C8R Pisces Rescue a 10/10 kinda odd. But thats just my opinion. Thanks for the videos i do enjoy them.
@EvenLease44 Okay, then the C8R should be way lower in rank because there is a cutless red, which is a much better ship and would play that role significantly better.
Engine damage and wing damage when hit is also a very big downside to this ship ... while PVE might be no problem, PVP is another game entirely, and you'll often find yourself in a death spiral from a missing side, engine or wing.
Rating a ship's DPS by its stock loadout is just stupid. By that logic the connies have bad DPS in comparison to the competition when actually they don't.
I rate the ship as they come when you buy them, rating them any other way would be impossible due to the many variations. Upgrades are based on the owner.
@@EvenLease44I think that's a fair point, but I have wondered if you could at least comment on how close the ships stock loadout matches the general current meta

this is what i REALLY love about this ship among many things. it really LOOKS like it was made to hunt, search and destroy.
The size 5 torpedoes and the size 3 turret weapons on this are great. Easily the best Vangaurd

My favorite combat ship in the ‘verse.
Reminds me of a WW2 de Haviland Mosquito fighter-bomber.

My most melted and rebought ship
just embrace it. i have them all except the hoplite which im really struggling to justify buying. i love them all.
I have been trying to decide between this one and the Scorpius. Nice review has put my drive to earn cash in game towards this ship!
the harbinger is one of my favourites, the extra hitpoints when going to bounty mission is usually helpful for a less skilled pilot :) and the interior has some rooms for loot from ships or from bunkers.
Been trying to save up enough aUEC to pick one of these up. Excellent review as always o7
If I’m going to fly a Vanguard at all, it’s definitely going to be the Harbinger. Great review.

I upgrade my PC in a few days and will be able to play star citizen soon! This is my favorite ship that convinced me to buy the game!
Which ship and what components did you end up with for your PC? 😁 welcome to the verse!
Got to try this for a few days when someone gave lots of auec before a wipe. What a beast of a ship, i love it. Hope to get one one day

The harbinger for me, letting those torps off and see him land and marmalize a ship never gets old

Looks like a server area for the engineering station.
I dont know much about the flight model of this ship but man it's so cool

One of my favourite ships, not meta, but for PVE it is a real gem
It's a great ship, but that underslung weapon looks ridiculous to me.
It should be pushed up and into the chassis.
I agree so badly. That underslung weapon looks like a Decepticon posing as a gun attached to the ship.
Only i did not find the storage in ship yet :) so i put my stuff to bath :) so the bath is clean wide and working well :p

One of my favorite ships. Both in looks and utility. Just wish they would inset the massive nose gun instead of it just hanging off the front so far.
Warden fan myself, but I do want that Torpedo module once... Modules are a thing

Used to be my favorite ship, lost it to a patch and never rebought it in game
Nice video. Im thinking about getting this one, or the Ares Ion. Is it possible to chancge alle the guns of this ship into laser guns?
Yes you can absolutely swap out all the weapons on the ship to lasers, probably the better choice than ares.
that EM is craaaazy for a ship running all ballistics, i wonder how far you can drop that down with stealth components.
Also happy birthday!
Do we know if you will ever be able to reload the torps internally at that engineer station?
@@RubyMedic I assume given the size you’ll only be able to load them from underneath with the bay door open.

Do the nose guns have gimbles yet?

No but it's still beautiful

Would you do a rivieuw over Vanguard warden?
Wait... how do you have the wings out while landed? Did they separate wings and gear? Awesome if so.

That's one of those ships that seem worthless now that they made cargo require a container.
