This is using update 3.24.1, the Buccaneer is priced at $110 on the pledge store, but you can also obtain it in game for 1,663,200 aUEC.
This is the ship you get when you pledge for this ship or if you get it in game.
This review is of the STOCK ship.
This review is just my OPINION.
These reviews are typically around 15 minutes more or less if you don't count the intro with ship showcase and the end screens.

I love the fact that the ship looks like it is was assembled in a scrap yard and literally held together with a wing and a prayer!
I lost a wing and engine on my bucc in atmo fighting, and still managed to win the fight. Then i managed to get all the way to a station to repair it. Took like an hour and was dofficult but totally worth it.

Drake, it maybe built using duck tape, bailing wire & zip ties but it will somehow get you home usually :)
Had a similar thing happen to me. Killed my bounty target and landed next to the ship ( enemy ship had soft death and I wanted to loot the corpse. You can find decent helmets that way). Just as I opened the ship door I heard laser fire near me. I turned around to see a NPC cutlass black peppering my bucc. I ran to my bucc fired up my engines and tried to gain distance from the cutty but ended up losing my right wing and engine. Still managed to kill the cutty and fly to a repair station afterward. It was a fantastic experience. 10/10 would recommend the Drake Buccaneer

Nerf is probably justified. But wish they buff its capacitors to counter the nerf.
My fav part of the low combat part is watching this ship obliterating the hills with each missing shot

The buc was my first FAV ship in the game. "Bucket-o-Bolts" fun all day!

Drake is the Mopar of the Spaceship world and the Buccaneer is the Plymouth Cuda of outer space!
Don't forget the trusty old Slant Six, it's not fast / powerful but it will always get you there.

@@patches6309 I can understand the frustration about the game, crashing, bugs and optimizing issues. Also there is not much to do in the game so far. I have older PC and trying to play the game is a struggle!

My first contact with the buccaneer was strange. i got it as a loaner for my corsair, it always scrolled away contemptuously in the list. then after a bad party with friends, very drunk, i thought i would play a few rounds of hrt`s with the buccaneer. it impressed me so much that i bought the ship the same morning in the pledge store. great piece, although the 4 gatling flew out with the first upgrade and was replaced by an ad4b, an atlas qdrive and other missiles, but it's my favorite light fighter in pve. i never do pvp, but if i did i'd rather take an f7c mk2 for it. it's great for pve, durable, can really dish it out and it's fast. Optics...Drake is not bought for its looks but for its capabilities!

@@CMDR_MURR This should not be an insult to drake fans, but you have to admit that drake design does not appeal to everyone, but that their ships can do something is beyond question. i like the vulture, the corsair, the cutlass series and the cutter. because they can do a lot, but in my opinion they are not pretty. 🙂

Best Interceptor in the game. 5 guns duct-taped to a big ole pair of engines and a cockpit that looks like it belongs on a space helicopter, and I LOVE it. I just wish it had more paints available for it, including one for the UEE Navy, because why tf not.

Hell yeah! Another great video! I just bought my bucc with in game cash and it feels great. Already have new weapons and components in mind for it.
UPDATE: can confirm that the buccaneer can fly with only one engine and wing. This ship can take a beating.

this ship feels almost like the light fighter version of the inferno with the punch this packs :)

My favorite light fighter. I am ok with its nerf.
This ship is a pure dog fighter and not a missile ship so there would really be no need to add more missiles to it. Instead maybe increase the power system (for energy weapons) and/or increase the ammo capacity for ballistic weapons so it can hang in the fight longer.
i managed to get the Buccaneer for free when I ship upgraded to the Freelancer Max. I actually prefer the Buccaneer over the Arrow.

Almost feels illegal that one of these comes with the Corsair and the dummy amount of firepower you can put on that thing.

Ahh.. The buccaneer. IMO, not worth the pledge store price at the moment. Very nice light/med fighter though. Good amount of DPS and HP/Shield.
Seems to be a better in-atmosphere fighter. Is it possible to add beam weapons?
I didn't think he was very handsome but with this skin he's even uglier ^^
Otherwise, what I love about science fiction is the fact that it plunges us into universes that show us what our future could be like...and the big ships, let's be clear: I've always loved works that feature big space battleships fighting in ways that aren't very realistic, like floating ships.

Which makes no sense because the whole purpose of the ship goes out of the window
so far we only know they're halving the shield, which shouldnt matter anyway since its in a boom n zoom interceptor not a brawler
