@@williamhermanson9753 Who are the best for you? Nightwish? I love Nightwish, but they don't have masterpieces like Consign To Oblivion, Kingdom Of Heaven and The Holographic Principle. The only song that come close to Epica is The Greatest Show On Earth!
I gotta agree with you about early Epica being great. Sadly they fell off super hard after Design Your Universe. Probably best right now at the moment for me is Blind Guardian and Fleshgod Apocalypse. I liked Kamelot (before Roys departure), Eluveitie (before Annas departure) and Wintersun when Jari wasn't crazy.

Hablar de Epica es como siempre que se habla de una banda, hablar de su cara más visible. Lo fue Robert Plant de Led Zeppelin, Ian Anderson de Jehtro Tull, Ian Gillan de Deep Purple, Mick Jagger, Steven Tyler de Aerosmith, Peter Gabriel de Génesis o Freddy Mercury de Queen por citar algunos.
En Nightwish ocurrió lo mismo con Tarja, y en After Forever, lo que llamaba la atención, mucho antes que Nightwish, era esa voz lírica, con arreglos increíbles. Juro que al principio creí que se trataba de una señora, soprano. Por entonces no había muchos videos, todo se percibía a través de la música.
Pero detrás de esos grandes cantantes, había en cada caso, un arquitecto musical, que era quien le daba el toque personal para que ese cantante representara toda la obra.
Y Epica no fue la excepción. Simone comenzó siendo casi una niña. Pero Marc, ya venía de una experiencia casi fundacional. En mi opinión personal, After Forever fue la piedra basal sobre la que se edifico el gothic metal, o gothic rock, y del que surgieron todas sus ramificaciones. Sin ellos hoy Dimmu Borgir no existiría, ni Xandria, ni Therion mucho menos.
Cuando After Forever se disuelve, Floor y Marc toman distintos caminos. Marc armó Epica y Floor Revamp.
Por lo tanto, toda esta vuelta, es para reconocer el genio creativo de Marc, apuntalado por Coen, tanto en After Forever como en Epica. De hecho Forlorn Hope ya vislumbraba la proyección de Marc.
Simone es una cantante tan maravillosa como ecléctica, tan estetica como su presencia. Ella es Epica. Y por supuesto se lleva todas las miradas y los aplausos, cómo Alissa White-Gluz, porque además son mujeres muy, muy hermosas.
Pero en este caso creo que es justo reconocer a Marc como el alma de Épica. Sin el, todo ese despliegue sinfónico que caracteriza a Epica hubiera sido imposible.
Es como imaginar a Pink Floyd sin David Gilmour.

errou e muito não é a melhor do gênero é a melhor banda de metal que surgiu nesse século por ter muita filosofia nas composições e misturar isso com ciência,espritualidade e ainda fazer criticas sociais e sem contar as baladas poéticas e reflexivas entre outras coisas.

Si hubiera sido con el audio en vivo, podría decir que por primera vez me gusta algo en vivo de Epica, por que en otros vídeos del tour actual, se nota que Simone ah mejorado harto su voz, pero aún así me gusto este video, bien hecho Epica :)
