- This would be my first time embarking on a multi day canoe trip and I immediately fell in love. For the next five days I travel through the heart of Algonquin around the Big Trout Loop where I would see wild moose, perfect sunsets and the stunning countryside. This trip was almost perfect even with the heavy rain on day one. This has quickly become one of my favourite past times and I can’t wait for the adventures to come!!

“Stop staring at me” literally laughed out loud. I watched the original videos but I’m watching this full one. Love the extra footage. I could watch you all day. Great job Jake!
Hahah it does feel like someone is staring at you when the cameras on😂 really appreciate you watching the videos and glad to hear you enjoy them. Thank you for the support👊🏻🙏🏻
@@castawaytv I’ll support you always.
Another great video. Keep ‘em coming pls.
Thank you!! Will do👍🏻👊🏻
great tour guide. this is the loop many of us have done (me a few times 50 years ago), but your living it in the raw like this was a wonderful reminder of how calming this self-reliance and enduring the elements can be.
Hey Robin just seen your other comment!! Really appreciate the support and glad you came along the journey with me! When I remade this edit it brought back into the trip and that calm as well. Can’t wait to get back out there🛶🏕
You really remind me of a younger Xander Budnick. You show lots of promise for some great future videos. Keep up the great work!
Thank you! Really appreciate the compliment!!
Great video thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching! Appreciate it👍🏻
Awesome video! Really fun to see the adventure, I know the area well, so fun to see!! Really great, can’t wait to see more!
Also I loved the end reflection about the mission involved, great way to put it.
Thanks man, glad you enjoyed the video! Also appreciate you watching to the end 🙏🏻👍🏻 this trip felt like it shifted my life course. Can’t wait for the adventures ahead!
@@castawaytv That's amazing, I love hearing that, and agree that it's amazing how much tripping and being out in nature really can help your whole damn life, it's fascinating and magical!
Kawartha Highlands this year. 7 days alone. Be warned the portages are gruelling uphill battles.
I will definitely be checking out Kawartha Highlands this year. I was actually just a few minutes from there at some crownland for an overnight hike in.
Good to know! I have 2 trips already planned there for this year haha
@@MrRockstarChuck don’t underestimate. Prepare for the worst and you’ll be fine.
You have some pretty good talent for doing these videos…. Keep up the good work and your channel will grow really well, New subscriber 🇨🇦👍🍻
Thank you, really appreciate the encouragement!!
Awesome video - crisp and great storytelling... QQ - for your selfie shots at camp are you using the GoPro or your DSLR?
Thank you, really appreciate it!! And the dslr was used for almost everything when it wasn’t raining. I had a secondary camera with long lens on to capture any wildlife moments I got blessed with. Maybe I little overkill but I didn’t want to miss those moments haha
What month?
This was end of august!
@@castawaytv wow, seemed pretty empty for August. We're going May 12. Can't imagine how empty it will be then
I need to book a trip here soon. There was quite a few paddlers I met along the way. I left on a Monday and it wasn’t crazy but coming back on the Friday I couldn’t believe how busy that first portage was!
That tree with the Trail marker tape on it was on the Tom Thompson to Ink Lake Portage. I did that Portage with my three kids for their first canoe trip, long story short they don't want to go back to McIntosh Lake. Ever.
Hahah that portage had me questioning things but the sunset made it worth it! It was quite the portage.
