5 Days in Algonquin Searching for Early Spring Brook Trout

It’s been a while since I’ve been to Algonquin and this time around I wanted to plan a loop focused on chasing Algonquins finest brook trout and possibly even some lakers. My first day would consist of mainly travel as I would paddle, portage and take a few wrong turns on my way to the first Brook Trout lake of the trip. I would have to wait until the next day to wet my line due to the fish sanctuary in Algonquin but this day was still full as I would find some pictographs, waterfalls and close out the day to a beautiful sunset. The fish were surfacing just as as the sun met the trees so I knew this trip was going to be one I would never forget!

Brook trout would similar to rainbow trout if you’ve had that or even salmon. It is delicious! And thank you 😊
