Thank you very much for this really nice comment. Hope you and your lab make it to WCPP. Its probably my favourite place to paddle. Amazing park and area to canoe through.
This is an interesting example of how the built environment (the 3 cabins) adds to the experience of a remote, wild place. In the US, the philosophy has been to eliminate signs of the modern hand but I think they add touch points to the history of a place. Recently, I think the National Park Service has reconsidered their old position. Terrific video. Thank you.
Thanks James. That’s interesting to hear. I wish that our park staff had saved the first could of cabins. I agree that building like this can certainly add to the experience and does not take away from the park in any way. Thanks very much for the comment.
Painful beauty combines with yearning for past people and special times. Watched a black bear amble up above along the cliff edge across the water at Cliff Lake while swimming. Thanks Clem. Thanks Marie.
Feels like winter doesn’t want to let go down here in South Western Ontario. This was a nice way to think canoeing is not far away. Great video. Claire De Lune was a nice touch during the aurora.
Wow 👌 those pictures you captured of the northern lights was just magical. I think you Canadians have the most beautiful night sky between the thousands of stars sparkling to the northern lights dancing...it's like heaven on earth. Keenan, your video brought back some great memories. About 15 years ago I spent time clearing portage trails in that part of the park with the Wabakimi Project. You definitely captured the beauty and solitude of the area. Bravo!
Thank you very much. This was a fun video to put together. Appreciate the feedback on the edit ✍️ 🛶. Definitely feel very lucky to be able to canoe across parks like this. Thanks again.

I just learned about Wabakimi about an hour ago, and I’m not going to forget it any time soon. You did a wonderful job of documenting your trip. Wabakimi is absolutely on the bucket list and it’s because of you. Keep it up!
I live in Victoria, BC so don't get to see the northern lights now, but saw them many nights in northern Alberta, especially in the winter; they are indeed awesome
Thanks Tami. We’ve got a lot of new adventures coming down the line! We’re heading out for a few days tomorrow so we should have a new video out soon. 🎥 🛶
Compelling scenery, solitude on a grand scale, wildlife and celestial spectacles - what more could you ask for? Another engrossing and deeply satisfying recount of an adventurous journey! Too many unique scenes to comment on them all, but one that particularly caught my eye was green treed glade briefly seen during the portage into Whitewater Lake; a visual stunner! I can see myself stopping for at least 1/2 hour there to soak it up and take a few dozen photos! Of course the warm sunsets, strikingly bold aurora, and the calm reverent exploration of the pictographs on Cliff Lake were also memorable.... I could go on... I don't know anyone else making films like this!! 🙌🙌🙌
Ron, you always leave some of the nicest comments we receive. I think you could spend a lifetime taking pictures in that incredible park. Appreciate your comments about the video very very much. Thank you.
We got very lucky this summer. I saw one this summer in Wabakimi and another on our trip to Woodland Caribou provincial park. Amazing animal. Hope you get to see one soon.

This might be my new favourite canoe camping videos on RUclips. Absolutely amazing spectacle of what a canoe trip should and can be. Thank you for sharing the northern lights. I have never seen them in person so this was a very special video. Cheers Keenan!
Well that’s a pretty nice comment to receive. Thank you very much for the message. Hope you get the opportunity to see the northern light someday. They are spectacular.
Keenan, your video brought back some great memories. About 15 years ago I spent time clearing portage trails in that part of the park with the Wabakimi Project. You definitely captured the beauty and solitude of the area. Bravo!
Well thank you Walt for your work cleaning those trails. Really appreciate the comment and your work clearing those portages.

I live in Victoria, BC so don't get to see the northern lights now, but saw them many nights in northern Alberta, especially in the winter; they are indeed awesome

What an amazing trip. I had no idea how many of Wabakimi's highlights were relatively accessible. You've inspired me to start planning my own!
Thanks Brendan. Hope you plan an amazing trip. It’s quite the park to explore. 🛶
Thank you.
You've made seeing a caribou in the woods a bucket list thing! Wow. So lucky.
We got very lucky this summer. I saw one this summer in Wabakimi and another on our trip to Woodland Caribou provincial park. Amazing animal. Hope you get to see one soon.
