So much to love about this video. As ever, you bring the peace of nature to us. I admire how you honor your wife, but the best part for me is how you observe and encourage your followers to do the same. Many thanks Max and Thais
Thank you Maxim and Thais, for another amazing video. Thank you for your knowledge on nature and geology that you shared with us, as you bravely cruised Lake Superior. Thank you for your excellent photography and videography, and thank you for sharing your family history and sadness at the loss of your grandfather. All the best to you both in your future adventures.
Thank you guys for wonderful journey. Thank your parents and grandparents for raising such a beautiful person as you are. God bless your grandpa soul. Big greetings from Ukraine.
Ah Max thanks for taking us along on this journey and heartfelt sadness at the loss of your grandfather. Glad you got to see him one last time. He must have been one special human! Your footage as always brings me to the places I long to be away from the everyday hustle. Frolicking otters, the ever ethereal loons that I love so much and all the wildlife, Superior’s breathtaking magnificence…so special. And your Thais certainly can fish 😉💕 It’s good to see you back out where you belong👊🏻Thank you Max! B P.S. As we lurch towards tomorrow’s election your work has been such a welcome interlude from all the madness here in the States…
Hi Max what an absolutely stunningly beautiful video you out did yourself and no other you tuber can even come close to the beauty you captured. Loved the historical info very very much .. I’ll never look at rock the same. Being a birder I appreciate the lovely shots of the birds thank you. Having your Mrs along was very nice indeed. I’m your number one fan 😊
Ok so this one was incredible. Thais sighting - she has awesome energy. Excellent wildlife. Unbelievable views. Extensive geology nerd-outs. Loving tribute to your grandfather. You bring a level of thoughtfulness and existential inquiry to your videos that is unmatched and very appreciated. This was a masterpiece.
First time watching. Had to subscribe. Beautiful footage! I especially enjoyed you sharing about your grandfather and you being stuck in the city. Keep getting out and thank you for taking us with. It’s cool your grandpa lived to be 94! Appears you are named after him? Great job! Greetings from west Michigan!
What a great trip, and I am grateful for you sharing this. My condolences to you and your family. I am able to presume that your confidence in this adventure stems from your Grandfather's influence upon you. 🙏 ⚓ ☀
Thank you and your lovely wife for sharing this incredibly beautiful canoe trip with us. At a time of loss of someone like your grandfather, what an honorable way to remember him.
Max! It had been a while! You know, it struck me while watching this one that you don't appear as a guy in nature, camping, fishing, what have you. You really appear to be one with it, and it's what sets you apart from the rest, in my opinion. Your videography skills do nature such justice and the music that you set it to, which I know is yours, is the most perfectly peaceful accompaniment. Love when Thais joins you, she appears to have the same respect and reverence for the beautiful outdoors. My condolences on the loss of your dad, I appreciate that you and Xander shared a bit of him with us on your adventures. I'm already looking forward to experiencing your next excursion...
Oh my! This was absolutely stunning! Thankyou so much for sharing it. At times the beauty made tear up!My soul soaked in the tranquillity and grounded me! I loved the transition from island to moon and sunset to moonrise very very nice. Your capture in each scene is truly masterful. I love how Tyeize can speak without words by her funny little looks. And your minimal narration allows the quietness to seamlessly flow. What a gift to those of us that can't get out there. I thank you both for sharing your trip. Also sorry for your loss! Warm Regards from Aus 💚🌺
It is unimaginable that 80,000 years ago the 'giant' beavers in the southern Ontario region were as big as a modern small black bear!!! Thank you for your continued sharing of exploration and knowledge in your adventures.
Always a pleasure watching your videos. The info was a highlight as well as the cinematography. Nice catch with the fish, Thais! Well done both of you.
I so enjoy your videos, as you guys are kind of science nerds like me. Given all of my orthopedic issues, I doubt that I'll ever get to visit these wild places and find the agate and the low-bush blueberries like that. (We have huckleberries, but they're usually small, and you have to fight the ticks and chiggers for them, not to mention the poisonous snakes.) I do have to make a bird ID correction, and it might be a life bird for you. At around the 48 minute mark, you labeled a bird a Northern Rough-winged Swallow, but it was actually an Alder Flycatcher. Belonging to the empidonax family, they are fairly hard to ID unless they are singing, which this one was. We get them in fall migration here in the middle US. Thanks for taking me along!!!
O Thank you for the correction! By the time I get around to naming the wildlife in my videos I am usually thoroughly exhausted by the edit and don't spend as much time as I should confirming everything. I will put a note in the description with your correction. Thanks for your valuable insights!
Great cinematography, thanks for the names of the small birds. I thought immediately the screechy sound was a fox. Have heard the sound in relation to seen fox, so could be.
💕 thank you for taking me on this amazing trip with you and your beautiful wife!! 💕 Your videography is THE BEST!! your love of nature and all things spiritual is awesome!! What a perfect way to live!!! Seeing such fun and exciting animals and oh my goodness those rock formations!!!! Loved your stories and hearing you tell about the different types of things that took place so very very long ago!!!! Sending you love and light and infinite blessings!!! 💕 🙏 R. I. P. MAX ♥
Thais was the real star of this video. She did not pansy around getting that fish into the boat. I was so excited by her being excited. The moment when she realized that it wasn’t a snag but a ‘fucking big ass fish’ was epic. So glad you didn’t edit that out. Thank you both for a wonderful hour long video.
Haha yeah she was bursting with joy for the rest of the trip. We couldn't stop thinking about how beautiful fat and tasty that fish was! RIP and thank you,Mr. Trout!!! Haha thanks for watching and for the kind comment
Great trip I really appreciate your chill demeanor and knowledgable commentary. I thought l knew something about the terraced cobbles and the records they revealed. I had no idea they included the last 3k years and post glacial rebound. Wow! Thais spark energizes every moment. So sorry for your loss. My condolences to you and your family. Such a great tribute this video is to your grandpa and memories he left you to cherish.
Magical. Great photography. Good color, attention to detail. Love the input about geology and nature. Can't say enough. Am disabled and can no longer do things like this. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SHARING IT WITH ME!
What a trip! as someone who majored in Geography+civil engineering I really appreciated the explanation of the rocks and the place! keep up the good work
I too, was named after my grandfather. He passed in 1975 and I still miss him everyday. I feel your pain. We are both lucky to have been a part of their lives!❤
Max, so wonderful to have another video! I thoroughly enjoy the thought filled way you experience nature and the things you teach us along the way. Watching you and Thais enjoy the adventuring on this trip was truly lovely. Thinking of you as you mourn your Grandfather ❤️
Hi Max. i think there are many reasons to like your films but for me the most important thing is fact that your channel and your films are just normal...there is no shitty content here or weird things just to gain more viewers etc. it really is something unique especially when there is so much garbage all around us in real life and in internet. secondly i have to say its amazing how lucky you are :) you and your wife...i guess its quite obvious she is not only your wife...she is your friend companion closest soul... to experience all that trips with such person, i can only imagine, have to be so damn great :) ps. and of course...thank you for sharing your family story with us. it really means something
My sincere condolences to you and your family. I'm sure your grandfather was and still is wildly proud of you, Xander and the rest of his grandkids. What you share with the world matters and is greatly appreciated.

Amazing trip.. & what a fish! Love the way she slapped it (lol) .. Also, I’m so sorry to hear about your grandpa 🙏🏼❤ Thank you for these beautiful videos.
Thank you, Mishelle. As I mentioned in the video, it was certainly his time to go... But we are a very close family and he is very missed. Thanks for stopping by!
your videos just keep getting better and better. Nice work. Couldn't imagine how long it took to edit. Missed you and Thais. hope we get videos more frequently.
Thank you so much Darrell. This one was a bit brutal to edit to be honest. More because the technical difficulties I faced than anything else. I hope to get more videos more frequently .
Thank you, Nicholas! Your comment on it being a great way to celebrate my father means a lot. Hope all has been well with you. Cheers and have a great rest of your Sunday
Thanks so much Maxim for sharing your trip into lake Superior with Thais. I appreciated the educational moments about this planet we share. As always, I really appreciate the reflective thoughts you share with us. I'm very pleased to be able to come along.
Always enjoyed those moments where you and your brother reflect a lot in your videos. Makes those grounding, humbling moments to take a step back and pause. We are always looking ahead, moving so fast. Thanks for sharing your trip!

Great video Max! You have definitely come into your own as a RUclips presenter!!! This video is educational and inspiring.peppered with moments of love between you and your wife and dedication and respect for your namesake grandfather. Keep these beautiful videos coming.
Thanks Max! The average quality of You Tube's offerings gets yet another "Budnick Boost". Really appreciate your time and effort in bringing this content to us. Thanks for sharing re. your grandfather's passing - I'm glad you will always have many fond memories of him.
Lovely video max ,what a fish that was xander will be jealous lol ,an amazing place for sure sorry to hear about your grandfather may he rip and I’m sure he is proud of the man you are thanks for sharing this lovely tribute to him take care and my deepest condolences to all of your family and friends 👍❤️❤️🙏🙏🚣🏻🚣🏻
Very nice tribute to your Grandpa. Great to see your usual top quality movie-making, tale-telling, and nature-nerding. Thais is an absolute treat as always. I'd like to do a trip on Superior but I'd always feel some apprehension every time I rounded a point, wondering if I would see Jon standing on a cliff, shaking his fist and yelling "Get off my lake!" ;)
I really enjoyed your beautiful video, thank you for taking us along! Thais is a star, great fun energy between you two! Sorry to hear about your granddad.
You had me crying at the end of the video. What a nice tribute to your Grandfather. I bet he was very proud of you. ❤ Another gorgeous video. My favourite part was the porcupine. She was so cute and zen.
Another great video. Im in a wheelchair and live vicariously through you, Xander, and Jon and Erin. I find myself crying sometimes because the beauty of the North is so stunning. Thank you all for that. Im also very sorry about the loss of yours and Xanders grandfather. I know that sorrow very well. One day at a time. It gets better. Baby steps. Thanks again for the videos. God bless. ❤
Thank you so much for sharing your feelings and a bit about yourself. It honestly motivates me so much to hear from you and bring people along to places like this.
That barking was a female fox calling for a mate. We have heard them in Quebec and have recorded their sound. So cool to hear! If you watch any British mysteries , you will often hear the fox cry during night shots.
Well worth waiting for. I love that you and your wife both enjoy the adventures together. You do such a good job explaining everything it is like a history lesson and your attention to detail is so great. Todd Mullin.
Canoeing Lake Superior looks awesome. Nothing better than Lake Superior in my opinion. I live in Minnesota and visit the Minnesota side of the lake every year for hiking etc. eventually I’d like to buy a canoe or kayak and explore the lake. Thanks for the video.
Thanks! I have yet to explore your side of the lake which looks totally different in some ways. I can't wait to do that. I once did a hiking trip in pukaskwa and came across a kayaker who convinced me the best way to see the lake is from the water. Now having paddled a few times I couldn't agree more.
Sorry for your loss Max. Thank you for sharing your family & adventures. I find your adventures educational & exciting. Your creativity shines through so vividly. Can't take my eyes away from the screen. Best wishes to you & yours from Florida.
First time watcher...the sound at the first campsite was a fox. We heard it in our backyard last weekend in PA. Great content. The scenery is amazing !
Thanks for sharing your trip and your reflections Maxim. The scenery and wildlife shots were amazing. What trip would not be complete without a geologic and geomorphology lesson, otter zoomies and reliving your wifes great lake trout catch the day (or should I say night) the day after:) A wonderful tribute and dedication to your Grandfather I am sure he would be proud of as well. Your trip was inspiring to watch as indeed it like life need not be a race encumbered by deadlines. Looking forward to your next adventure including Thais of course:)
We are grateful that you bring us on your adventures. I'm sorry to hear about your grandfather's passing, wishing you and your family the very best. As always, awesome videography, and man, that fish Thais caught, nice! Looking forward to your next one!

You are a class act Max! That was another awesome video.
Photography is,as always, superb. Your vids always give more than expected. Thanks for the ride.
Thank you Sandra! Thanks for coming along 🙂
A beautiful video about the enjoyment of nature, its sites and sounds by two beautiful souls experiencing it..❤️✨️🙏👍

You make your grandfather and family proud thank you for your most awesome video
Simply an outstanding journey! Thank you for bringing this to us all. Condolences to your family. Your grandfather, I am sure is proud. RIP
👍👍
Canoeing Lake Superior looks awesome. Nothing better than Lake Superior in my opinion. I live in Minnesota and visit the Minnesota side of the lake every year for hiking etc. eventually I’d like to buy a canoe or kayak and explore the lake. Thanks for the video.
Thanks! I have yet to explore your side of the lake which looks totally different in some ways. I can't wait to do that. I once did a hiking trip in pukaskwa and came across a kayaker who convinced me the best way to see the lake is from the water. Now having paddled a few times I couldn't agree more.
Calming and beautiful as always, but also entertaining, interesting and informative. Our condolences...
Wow! What an epicly beatiful trip, thank you So Much, amazing.
Sorry for your loss xo.
Thank you so much for watching!
Sorry for your loss Max. Thank you for sharing your family & adventures. I find your adventures educational & exciting. Your creativity shines through so vividly. Can't take my eyes away from the screen. Best wishes to you & yours from Florida.
Thank you so much Rebecca, I am so glad you came along for the journey!
What a fantastic experience to join this tour. Many animals and birds are the same as I have here at home in Sweden. Thanks Maxim ❤️
Thank you for bringing us along on this beautiful video. I am sorry for your loss, Max. You will carry him forward for the rest of your life.
Thank YOU for taking me along...🛶❤
Thanks for coming along!
First time watcher...the sound at the first campsite was a fox. We heard it in our backyard last weekend in PA.
Great content. The scenery is amazing !
Hooray! Happy to see you back.
Thanks for sharing your trip and your reflections Maxim. The scenery and wildlife shots were amazing. What trip would not be complete without a geologic and geomorphology lesson, otter zoomies and reliving your wifes great lake trout catch the day (or should I say night) the day after:)
A wonderful tribute and dedication to your Grandfather I am sure he would be proud of as well. Your trip was inspiring to watch as indeed it like life need not be a race encumbered by deadlines.
Looking forward to your next adventure including Thais of course:)
Thanks Mark! Really appreciate you taking the time to enumerate the things you enjoyed. It was an amazing trip and I am really glad you came along!
Awesome young man, well done! RIP Maxim Budnick 🙏
We are grateful that you bring us on your adventures. I'm sorry to hear about your grandfather's passing, wishing you and your family the very best. As always, awesome videography, and man, that fish Thais caught, nice! Looking forward to your next one!
