Excited to try this with someone else! I HAVE tried this with myself in the mirror though. This can also be powerful to develop more connection with yourself. I've even sometimes experienced mild shroom-like hallucinations by doing this. It's very strange and can be sometimes freak you out but staying with the practice and breathing is key. Hahahaha. Best intro ever (in this challenge). Calvin (from Calvin&Hobs) would describe Ollie's eyes at the beggining of the video as "Bambi eyes" perfect to ask Santa (or mum) for a flame thrower. Shrek's cat is a good example too. ;-) My last try on this experiment led to an akward feeling of not being able to feel the limit between me and the other person. The frontiers fell down somehow. I don't know if there is a matching expression in english, but in Spain we say "los ojos son el espejo del alma", something like "the eyes are a reflection of the soul" I guess. If this is true, eye-gazing is for me something similar to a gentle caress soul to soul.
I first discovered this in my BC (before Christ) days at a shambhala Buddhist meditation center. About 30 young adults in one room for an hour and a half. First a 15 minute meditation warm up followed by a group discussion around the room checking in with each other. We would then randomly pair up with someone in the room. We would sit on pillows directly in front of one another. One side would close their eyes and would just listen to the other speak for two minutes uninterrupted. After that was done, switch sides. At the end of that. We would open our eyes and do this. They called it the Dyad. Same process but for about 4-5 minutes. Dude, it felt like I was seeing this person’s soul. Kinda nuts.
I used to do this with my ex and she couldn't hold the gaze for more than a few seconds. I couldn't relate at the time, but now I don't think I could do this with someone else anymore haha.

I am thinking about engaging in eye-gazing with someone I like, but am not close to yet, and maybe even strangers in the park, who knows. If it comes to it, I will return to this comment section and share my experience. Cheers!
I just naturally did this and came up with it for my relationship where I felt we were hurting ourselves cus we weren't being our genuine selves in our worst moments (and we wouldn't be able to if making eye contact)
