    Great video, can you tell me what canbus adapter you are using? And what factory software to communicate with it , i have a hi world canbus and softyfor vw golf mqb and when i press MODE comes up with driving modes for a hybrid golf :) great vids keep up the great work 👍

      I used the same canbus that comes with this system. I can’t say what the model number was. I replaced this system with a MIb 2.5 so I can’t check the version of vw I had selected, sorry. I did try a few when I accidentally selected the wrong one once. There’s only a few so worth trying them each to see which once works the best with your golf setup.

    You've tried a few of these golf headunits, what are your thoughts now? Would you just fit a carplay/android auto box to the oem or is the Apline the better install?

    • @CarPlayLife
      @CarPlayLife  8 месяцев назад

      OEM has been the best install for me. Only down side is it isn’t wireless but a dongle will sort that out. But stock just feels, looks and acts much better than the others (alpine and Android systems) I have tried.

    Hello mate, thanks for the vid. II have a few questions, firstly I have a 2015 Golf R and when you go into select mode on your dash in the car does the Dasaita bring up the Race mode, as I noticed on yours, I know you drive a GTI and you dont have it R mode, but just wondering have you seen this in use at all or have tested it. Second question can you still use the aerial antenna that's already installed on the Golf R that black shark fin that sits on the roof or do you have to use there's as it seems really complicated a bits and parts do and don't fit etc. Cheers Bruv

      Check out brands: Eonon, Joying, Atoto, Idoing, Mekede, T'eyes and EKIY. I liked the look of the Teyes, but I chose to go OEM stock in the end for my Golf and I won't be doing another install again. Hope this helps.

    Thank you for these fantastic series of videos! They are extremely useful! I have also a couple of questions. Where did you place the included GPS antenna? Does it have an AUX input option?

    • @CarPlayLife
      @CarPlayLife  2 года назад

      You’re welcome and thanks for watching.
      I reused my existing GPS connection from my original MIB system. I had a Nav Professional MIB system. If yours didn’t have navigation then I would suggest either placing it inside the side pillar of the door frame or you could try placing it on top of the receiver casing , but once it’s installed the signal might not be so great as on the side pillar.
      It does come with AUX IN and OUT but I don’t use that. Plus I couldn’t get AUX IN 3.5mm jack to work. I think I need an AUX app or something to toggle and accept input from what’s plugged into the AUX port. The AUX 3.5mm comes attached to the two black female USB cables.

    Hi by the way great video. I have a couple of questions maybe you can help.
    1. What kind of extra cables i shoukd buy.
    2. Can i use the factory installed microphone for bluetooth.
    3. Does it support factory tpms.

    • @CarPlayLife
      @CarPlayLife  2 года назад

      Hi, thanks for watching for your comments :)
      1. I mention the cables in Part 1, and I also link them in the video description above, this is for my 2014 Golf7, so more modern systems might carry different cables and could work with the cables Dasaita supplies. If you don't have a USB carplay port in the lower centre console, then you might want to get that also, as I already had the one that came with my Alpine unit. If you're coming from stock you might not have this, or just have an AUX 3.5mm input.
      2. The Alpine seemed to use the factory mic, but this Dasaita seems to use its own, you can also choose to place their external mic, but I found the quality of the mic to be much better than the head unit mic. I am not sure about using a microphone for Bluetooth, BT would be with the system you install, not the microphone itself. The microphone would likely connect via cable (i think via the harness connection), seeing as I never saw a cable for it.
      3. It supports factory TPMS, there is a menu screen, I show this in the video, but my system doesn't support the reading of pressure, only if the pressure has dropped significantly.
      Hope these help answer your questions.

      Hi thanks for your helpful reply. My golf is a 2013 model. I dont have the factory usb. Shall i buy the original app connect usb or use the dasaita usb ?

    • @CarPlayLife
      @CarPlayLife  2 года назад

      OK, we are probably on the same model system. Basically, for wired CarPlay/Android Auto connection you can just use the grey female USB cable that came with the Dasaita to connect a lightning or USB-A to C cable to your device.
      You don't have to connect this to an AUX/USB module like I did. I was just likely to have it on me from my Alpine install. Down the same location, I assume you have a AUX IN port? no USB port. So you can either buy one like the alpine or similar, it needs the end of the connection to have a USB-A male and a 3.5mm male. Similar to this www.ebay.co.uk/itm/184726581116?hash=item2b028fef7c:g:I7IAAOSwX35iYV6z. If you know you're not going to use the 3.5mm aux, and with the dasaita I haven't found how to use it yet, you could use something like this www.ebay.co.uk/itm/324441553100?epid=9035178550&hash=item4b8a3938cc:g:KTAAAOSwuG1g0guX with 2 USB, one for carplay and the other could be spare for other things like onboard wifi, instead of it being in the glove box/elsewhere.

      Not for my golf. It still works but for any passthrough to the unit from the system such as radio etc. it just shows up nothing. Also noticed that the internal compass no long works. Stuck on displaying NE. But I never really used it much anyway. Same for the center cluster in general since my Alpine before it make it stop working also. You went to music option and it would just say ‘Alpine’ on it. Nothing else. So I’m not missing out on much.

    • @CarPlayLife
      @CarPlayLife  2 года назад

      @@jingwen07 very wise if that’s the only issue. The only way to deal with video audio lag over WiFi is to buffer the content in a player and getting it in sync then. Any streaming off a phone will suffer with this unless on the display end they hold on to it and buffer it. If playing off your phone you can try using BT instead of AirPlay (WiFi). If your car has BT it will have much faster audio sync when streaming off your phone.
