I can't help loving mk2 granada's I've got such a soft spot for them. I'm 43 so they were still around a fair bit wile I was growing up. My uncle Barry had a blue one they used it for towing a caravan.
Very nice car indeed.
And the radio/cassette is indeed correct for the model.
The last one I had was a 1985 2.3 LX in jade green - B888 OSA and was fitted with this unit.

Ive had 3 granadas 2.8 ghia And 2 vauxhall senitors 3ltr 24 valve they are a beast even today , Senitors are so reliable and still fast in todays money . ,Brilliant ,ars ,And now my daily is E38 728I ,But still love granadas ,And if your getting a granada get a 2.8 ghia or ghia x Auto. who wants to ,hange gear just wafft along .

These mk2's were the dogs bollocks.Shame so many ended up on the banger tracks.Ford at their best back then.The mk 1's are hens teeth now and they were good machines but the mk 2's were the boss.The car you wanted you dad to have.

Very nice straight car looks like it could be used for many years without any major expenditure. That engine mated to a 5 speed gearbox should achieve 26mpg if light footed

The first car I bought at 18 yrs old in 1984 was a Diamond White 1979 Granada 2.8 Ghia Auto (FPU 606T) which I replaced with a late 1981 (VRK 282X) Cardinal Red 2.8 Injection Auto (NOT “Sport”m the incorrect title so many people give the model!). I loved the elegant lines of these cars (still do!) but, in hindsight, now prefer the cleaner more pure lines of the smaller bumper pre-facelift models. They don’t look anywhere so good though without the iconic Ford alloy wheels used on Fiestas, Cortinas and Granadas in the late Seventies and early Eighties!
Cars were actually a lot more expensive back then if you adjusted for inflation to be able to afford a 5 year old 2.8 ghia granada at 18 I solute you . Even a 1976 austin maxi would be £19k equivalent in today's money. That's poor value with no safety or luxury features. And a 1.5 petrol manual.

hi had forteen MK1 and 2 Granadas should of kept them as t the price for them there's days
what i dont get is that ford had the 2.8i already in the capri, so why not just do away with the 2.8 carb ......and yes i know the 2.8i was an option in the granada
I had a 2.8 injected granada ghia x estate, I bought it when it was 3 years old and kept it for 14 years, it had a 3 speed auto box and a limited slip diff and went like shit off a shovel it had the trx wheels on so the tyres were a bit expensive, the only options it didn't have were electric sun roof and leather seats and frankly I wish I still had.
What price will the, ford, granada go, for 😂

@@Dirt-Diggler I certainly loved mine and as I said even with the 3 speed auto the limited slip diff would spin the wheels with ease but it wasn't wise to look at the trip computer as the fuel consumption would drop to about 7 or 8 mpg
Sagginess on your bolsters is best to be avoided..
