Amazing Game overall, however i feel like in alot of instances the visual design was very obtuse or very uneedlessly changed for better or for worst. Alot of the bosses are lacking either in the ost or their design. Take the tower knight, the smiling jester and the HA HA HA in the backround OST is thrown out the window for a old man mixed with a l4d2 boomer. Hell even old king allant feels a little bit off, looking a bit warcraft mixed in with a skyrim npc. Like in the remake, the "Fantasy 19th century general/royalty" was replaced with an overbearing clunk of metal. I love this game, but as someone who has played demon souls in 2011 it feels off.
@@Awairaz I mean the base of the game is "generic" since it was the one who made all the next dark souls games, so it's kinda hard to innovate with remakes, and trying to keep the original "feelings" of the game

I can't be the only one that thinks the faster combat speed actually made this game easier than the ps3 original. Certain boss fights like the Penetrator are now so much easier!
True, i finished dark souls trilogy, never felt this easy, even iudex gundyr is harder than most of these bosses, game starts and then after 3 min u have to face to gundyr with only cloak and dagger, imagine that horror lmao, hell even the black knights with their big ass bow in anor londo feels harder than these bosses
Missed opportunity to make some of these fights actual fights. Dragon God is the biggest shame, always was the biggest disappointment and its the same this time around too.
This isn't a Remastered... A Remastered wouldn't have this kind of graphics and visuals. It would be the same game engine with some improvements about textures and resolutions, that's a "Remastered".

- Finally the fact who no only the could fix it but also they could at least add the 6th archstone in game with a new area, new enemies , etc. Also put a new ending based on if you did or not 6th one, as well as a new final boss than True King. Meaning you could still had the good and bad ending from the original if you play the game in the same way people use to do , but adding the 6th as a bonus if you wanna go for an extra challenge. AGAIN its nickpicking but after seen , they missed a lot of good oportunities.
Again this is amost the same case as the remake of Crash Bandicoot. The team behind the game not only did in 1:1 recreation but also go further into change some stuffs and add some stuffs as well without altering the core of the game itself.
You make some good points. However they simply couldnt add the 6th archstone. They wanted to keep the game as form software intended, and since they never got around to making it themselves they felt it wouldnt be fair. Thats the only reason.
@@sjorsboijmans5999 yeah!! i know that as well. I would said its fine too but i think giving that extra would be more convicing and put on top of the original one. Thats how i feel it from my point of view, as i still don't said its a bad game either. I believe anyone who didn't play the original MUST play this one, specially Souls fans.
Plus the rights of Demon Souls are from Sony mainly than From Soft .... since that game has a story of amost been a dissater on development, the poor threatment who Sony give it within its budget and quality testing, and the lower recivement on Japan to the point who was putting on checkmate the SIE branch and From Software itself, but then the game got a huge welcome overseas selling much more and becoming the cornerstone for what we call the Souls series. OF COURSE, this is an error who Sony realize later when those spike in sells went through and From was developing Dark Souls, reason why ... Bloodborne still an exclusive of Sony, since they didn't want to repeat the same mitake they did with Demon Souls.
I don't said its laziness but i believe Blue Point COULD do that if they want it , as much as they wanted to repect From Soft game.
@@SenseiRaisen another negative imo, no second boss fase, and they all seem really easy. i think a souls game is only as good as its bosses.
@@hergabri thats half and half since Maneater has a 2nd face technically (bringing another Maneater).

BySouls he’s really great at playing Demon’s Souls than Shirakko
For all of us*
@@johnphilliptecson3793 That Shirrako guy's Dark Souls Remastered gameplay was laughably bad.
When I started a new game (not new game+) I was able to beat the Vanguard Demon with my axe, I finished him, and I really liked how Fromsoft rewarded you with some helpful items before the Dragon killed you.
It seems The Old Monk bought the Digital Deluxe Edition of Demon's souls👀
Yo they remade flamelurker so well. He used to just look like a flaming Hercules type glad they did him justice
I disagree, in the original he looked like he was actually _made_ of fire, his design was straight out of a Manga as well, now he just looks like some enemy from Doom 2016, just like Vanguard.
This character looks like jon snow from battle of bastards episode .
@Jayne Wayne Yes it is ....
*Flamelurker appears*
Me: Even though I still fear you.... (Remembers Darksouls, bloodborne, and Sekiro) I'm stronger now than before so you can't hurt me any more 🥺
Your overconfidence will be your undoing
I'm happy knowing a game I grew up with is being remade
That brutal head stomp in the end caught me so off guard I just burst out laughing
2:48 That was the most brutal moment I have ever seen in video games. I've never seen this Boss before. ;)
Watch doom eternal gameplay
Dragon God and Maiden Astraea felt less like boss fights and more like beat downs.
I almost misread "Fresh Spice" as "Fresh Sprite" and then thought to myself, "Yeah. Fresh Sprite would definitely give you energy for spell casting."
The Storm King is such a nice looking fight
There’s so many people complaining about how the music is summoning the devil to ruin there lives. Maiden astraeas theme is really similar to the original. Go listen to them
Exactly there's no reason to complain about this remake the community is to picky
Right the remake feels very generic for some reason
@@Awairaz I mean the base of the game is "generic" since it was the one who made all the next dark souls games, so it's kinda hard to innovate with remakes, and trying to keep the original "feelings" of the game
If they showed king allant in a trailer he would've gotten the flamelurker treatment.
@@Awairaz It's probably because it's really weird to see a fromsoftware's game with actually amazing graphics, yea ds3 and bloodborne looked cool by it was aesthetic-wise not graphics themselves, while this game doesn't really have that much aesthetics (because the original demon souls doesnt lol) but the graphics itself are amazing
@@vrstate Yeah, however the designs were and still are superior
I just can't shake myself off of the "AY YAYAYA..." vibe from Old hero.
Am I the only one who remembered Old King Allant being much more aggressive and harder to predict? Maybe the fact that the original was my first Souls game is kinda making me remember him to be harder than he actually was.
the fight with the storm king was intense!!
The boss with the best improving is drity colossus imo, the sound effects are so great and you can visualy see how you break pieces of him.
All i saw is absolutely boring boss with like 3 or 4 types of unreadable attacks and that's really bad
@@MsUndertaker99 blame fromsoft, not bluepoint

same here
if there were any extra areas or new bosses i wouldve gotten this already
but i personally cant give a fuck about the same game again with better graphics🤷🏻♂️
i still hold resident evil 1 remake as one of the best remakes ever made for very obvious reasons
I just beat the ps3 version last night. 1st playthrough :)
Our PS3's this have work to do
XD i've never laughed so hard hearing the sound of a cat from the collosus boss and the pig sound on the spider
Am I the only one who thought the Storm King boss fight was beautiful and also unsettling?
The original, definitely. The remake definitely looks better, but the music tries too hard to sound dramatic when the original was so melancholy and fit with the bleakness of the setting. Took me right out of it
He should've used the Stormruler sword honetsly
The fight reminds me of MUTO from Godzilla.
I wish fromsoftware did this kind of graphics for ds3 and bloodborne. The graphics are just too good to leave ds3 and bloodborne out of it... Bloodborne would probably be scarier with it though.
Yea, we wish a game from 2016 has the same graphic as a 2020 game
@@azir387 can demons souls 1 could be handled by ps2? The graphics are not on ps3 level

Love the graphics, but the music for some bosses sounds a bit off and the sounds for Old King Allant are very different which I don’t like. I also don’t like the non calm casual way King Allant talks when you defeat his precious demon
For real, really disappointing
the off sounds have nothing to do with Demons Souls lmao, it's obviously this video.
How about astreas voice and her ost? That was a tlou2 level let down imo
Her voice is fine the ost is worse than PS3
@@ardaoguzhan8181 Totally agree. Now I know what it feels to be betrayed, considering idc for TLOU but am a huge Demon's fan. They really dropped the ball especially on Astraea's part. It was the boss I was looking forward to the most as it's very special to me and they changed basically everything. Their voices are so flat. The soundtrack barely sounde like the original. Even gameplay wise, Garl doesn't do as much damage... Idk why they chsnged so much

Late but agree. Come back to watch this every now & again to relive it. I loved the OG for many reasons & I love this for many reasons, too. Most of what I see fans say about Astraea, for example, I simply don’t see nor agree with. They did well bringing fresher graphics & details to this classic. Can’t stand that such a vocal minority always gets the most attention in the Soulsborne communities, & always for their whining. BP did a good job. People’s expectations were just too high & they’re the only ones accountable for that.
