I can’t imagine the effort that went into making this video. This is by far the best I’ll be it over detailed walk-through I’ve seen. But I have a feeling I’ll come back and reference this video at some point probably more than once lol.

ADDENDUM: It has come to my attention that I have omitted a rather important detail when it comes to obtaining the help of Sage Freke in turning Demon's Souls into Spells. In order for Sage Freke to sell you or trade you spells, you must have a minimum Stat of 10 Magic. If you have any less, he will not help you with any Boss Soul. Keep this in mind if you are planning a low Magic build that requires a boss weapon or spell. ERRATA: At 19:08, when speaking about the Pureblood Demon Soul, I explain that you can give the Soul to Yuria, the Witch, for the Spell Relief, and to Saint Urbain for the Miracle Resurrection. This is correct. That said, the images show this information backwards. I mistakenly put Urbain's name in the Relief spell and Yuria's name in the Resurrection miracle. This is not correct. I understand this may create confusion. In this case, the SPOKEN information is the correct information. YURIA for RELIEF / SAINT URBAIN for RESURRECTION. Amazing video, I used every soul but I got lucky that I didn’t consume any I needed for my faith build and miracles. It’s great your telling people early on because I could’ve gotten a head start making the miradin hammer blessed by using the fire demon soul. Luckily you can do it by making it +6 and using faint stones

Contains alot of information I've seen throughout various other guides,and videos, but the way you broke it all down by soul, with all possible "rewards" the soul can be used to obtain, makes it much eaisier for a newcomer like myself to keep track of The only criticism I would give you is your repitition of the "consuming this grants the user a large amount of souls, alternatively it can be made into....." I would cut that out all but the 1st one you talk about, and maybe 1 or 2 more after talking about several other souls, you could use the line to remind viewers that there may be a few things the soul can be used for that they'll need to choose from. But great video, like all time stamps, makes it very quick and easy to find the info Im looking for. Thank you.
Thank you for your comment. Your criticism is valid. The repetition definitely becomes unnecessary but, I am literally just reading the description of each soul. Item descriptions get a lot better after Demon's Souls. Generally speaking, most viewers only watch a few Souls and move on. This makes it so it's not that much of an issue. That said, I can understand how it could become annoying if you decide to watch for longer periods of time. I appreciate your point of view. Thank you for sharing it.
My problem is that I've literally completed and platinum this game so I just consume the souls since the only weapon even worth my build would probably be adjudicator soul for the meat cleaver but being a mage build with northern regalia and PW/PB-CT with insanity catalyst is hard to turn back on... great video though and amazing for people who want every weapon just for bragging rights!

@@SSNebula Well, the Meat Cleaver is a weapon that requires a specific build around it. It scales with STR and DEX at S (physical damage) and with FTH at A (magic damage). But, at the same time, it really benefits from Light Weapon, so levels in Magic are also good. I would not use it unless you can specifically build for it. You need a quality build, but investment in either FTH for constant damage, or MAG for higher burst damage through buffs. I am running different versions of the build to see which is better, but I can tell you for sure that the weapon is extremely fun and worth it.

What is your Intelligence? Freke has a Stat requirement of minimum 10 INT to help you. In hindsight, I should have mentioned this in the video. I didn't use any of these souls except the phalanx soul by mistake on my first playthrough. But at least now i can use the soul of the old one and the dragon souls to level up. Thx for this guide much appreciated
His guides are amazing 👏 iv followed them all when it comes to soul series and i wouldn't be where i am today if it wasn't for the guidance of this creator 👍 I'm on NG + 10 now 😂 yeah u could say I'm having a ball leveling up all my attributes 🥳 i play off line going solo tho as iv no Internet access yet its not stopped me one bit, in fact it's helped me become a better player having to challenge myself though the game on pure black & pure white tendency 😤 i cheese a lot of the bosses now using the thief's ring plus poison cloud 😉 Anyway hope ur enjoying ur journey though the game and my best addvice would be...check this creators videos on the tendency system cause this is key to understanding how u can best progress in the game tc 👋😊
I’ve just recently finished my 8th play through. I’m just leveling up weapons to have a variety of each type (sword, axe, etc) and each build (strength, magic, dex, etc) I’ve also enjoyed the world tendency system. Using the black tendency to farm materials to upgrade my weapons. I’ve unlocked and found every possible weapon, armor and accessory available, most recently the Penetrators Armor available in Fractured mode. FrownyGaming has helped me a bunch in this process, especially the ceramic coins needed in fractured mode. I can’t wait to pick up Elden Ring and then I’ll have even more videos and helpful info that’s provided by this amazing creator. Thanks again!!
@@monroedeonne7248 you are the first person iv heard saying uv enjoyed the tendency system as most hate it with a passion including me ! it's a good thing they had dropped it from the others in the soul series as the community feedback most hated it 👎 I'm on ng + 10 now 🤣 iv not yet got around to going into fracture mode and hunting down all those coins for the armour only cause although it looks very cool the armour it has no benefits on wearing it other than showing players uv grinded plus looking cool 😎 I think iv got most of the weapons and having fun experimenting with a lot of them, my favourite is the Meat Clever it hits like a truck 🤣 I'm a temple knight strength build, iv had to go totally solo playing as iv no Internet connection and it's been a challenge expecially running pure black tendency, I hope one day to be devoting all my time to Elden Ring yet iv not got around to purchasing it yet, happy gaming 🥳
Pretty sure you only need one fat official armor piece to get yuria, I remember only needing the hat back when I first played it on PS3 but this was back when it had come out and at a friend's house...

@@tanyadavies265 Besides the Dragon Bone Smasher, I am a fan of the Meat Cleaver, the Claymore, the Knight's Sword and the Winged Spear. I also REALLY like the Mirdan Hammer, fantastic weapon. My first playthrough was with the Claymore and my favorite probably the Mirdan Hammer on a high HP regen build.

I just started playing this game a couple days ago and I have beaten for bosses now but I consumed their souls smh..I'm trying to makes a magic faith build and was wondering how to get more spells and miracles..now I just want to start all over after watching this..thanks for the info
Depending on how far you are, starting over might not be a bad idea. Any spells you miss from Boss Souls can’t be obtained until NG+. That might be a while. Thank you for your comment.
Hi I accidentally consumed the Silver Demon Soul, is it that big of a deal? I know I can just get it into NG+ but how many times do I need to get this soul? Do I just need it for a spell or for many other things?
Silver Demon does give access to a few good spells. I am afraid that it’s one of the best in my opinion. Sorry to hear you consumed it. Go for NG+ and thank you for your comment!

I consumed the tower knight soul, a dragon soul, and that weird goopey boss at the start of the game. I had no idea i wasn't supposed to consume them am i missing out on a lot
Out of the three that you mentioned, the biggest loss is the Tower Knight. His soul can be used for a very good spell. As for the dragon soul, if it the Dragon God boss, then it's a big loss; on the other hand, if it is either the red or blue dragons in Archstone 1, then you are good. The goopey boss (Phalanx) is not a big loss. That one is cool to consume. Thank you for your comment.

I am assuming that the things you show in the video are all that can be crafted with said soul. You say that the lead demon soul can be used for spells miracles and weapons but it’s actually only for the scrapping spear. Am I correct in assuming so or is there other uses?
Correct. Everything that you can do with each Soul is shown in the video and then summarized in the chart at the end. Now, the bit about each soul being used "for spells and miracles" is just me reading the item description of the item. Demon's Souls uses the same item description for all the Souls, regardless of what they are actually used for. I regret doing this because it can lead to confusion. Thank you for your comment.
For yuri the witch you do not know how to explain, you said take the bloody key at the beginning of the arch stone and then you cut the video to the place and I could not find it, i had to search for another vid, i didn’t know there was a passage behind one of the dog cages, just a bit frustrated I’m a new player that’s why
I am sorry that you had this experience. That being said, I reviewed the video to see the issue and I found that it is properly explained. In the video, I clearly say: "At the beginning of Area 1-3, head to alley on the right of the fountain and unlock the Iron Door." I booted up the game again and the alley where the door is appears directly to the right of the fountain right at the start of the level. Currently helping my GF through this, I told her early on not to use boss souls but the other ones are safe to use. After a few hours playing, we get freke, and I see she doesn't have the tower knight soul, and we had just killed the fools idol and she didn't have her soul either. She said she knew she effed up and was quiet like a naughty kid hahaha. Love her though
Talk to him. Literally, use the “Talk” option. He will give you some lore and acknowledge that you have the soul. After that, you will get the option to give it to him. Thank you for your comment.
I wish I knew this, I headed into this game with ZERO prior knowledge. I started eating boss souls. It was only until I thought “I could save this so if I die and need to level up I can have this in the bank” I later by happenstance freed some guy who taught me spells and asked me to bring them to him. You could imagine my disdain when I only had 1 to give.
This is normal. There is nothing that teaches you this until you free Freke or Saint Urbain. Don’t feel bad, and carry this knowledge to improve your future builds. Thank you for your comment.
If a player has their build planned out and know which Souls they need, they can consume all others for a healthy early game Soul Level boost. By the time you hit NG+2 and beyond, your build should be finished and consumption loses some value. Thank you for your comment!
@@FrownyGaming I agree, but if you're like me and want every weapon/spell in the game and, unlike me, didn't plan to play beyond NG+, you may have to use all souls (other than the dragon souls and the maiden in black's/old one's). But yes, I did exactly what you have suggested here as my NG+2 build is a magic build...that said, I can't complete my build until NG+2 is complete, as I want the 'pushed' talisman of beasts. I have 40 vitality, 50 magic, 40 intelligence and working my way to 43 faith to complete the build. Your channel has been immensely helpful, I'm very grateful. Great content, keep up the great work!
So the "Unknown Warrior Soul" and "Unknown Hero Soul" and the Renowned versions of the same souls are also safe to use? Possibly as well as the "Storied Warrior Soul" since I don't think those are from bosses and you just find them layout around I assume those are purely for souls points and not to trade for item or spells?
Yeah. All soul items that you pick up in the game are good to consume. Just be careful with Boss Souls and Colorless Demon Souls. Those are the ones you want to keep. Thank you for your comment.

That honestly depends on what you are looking for. If you want the platinum trophy, then you need the good ending for the Maiden in Black's soul. Now, if you do not care for spell or trophies, get the bad ending every time. The Soul the Old One gives you 200,000 souls and that is a lot of levels. Thank you for your comment.
Accidentally consumed the silver demon soul meaning I now would have to do three playthroughs nah duck my life I’m not doing it all over again an extra time I hope you all succeed in your platinum
It is not honestly not that hard to go through it once again. By the third time, you can probably run through the level in about 5 hours without really doing anything special. Hopefully you don't give up. Good luck, and thank you for your comment.

I waited till almost ready for NG+ and used every Soul for weapons wanted and spells there was 2 left and didn't need so ate em. I'm at point where all I have left is PvP, King A, leveling up, killing all NPCs.

I heard about the dragon bone smasher and wanted to make a build for it. Later I used the searing demon soul without knowing you need it to upgrade weapons like the dragon bone smasher. I just thought you could exchange it for a weapon and that was it and I wasn't interested in that
This is unfortunate. The Searing Demon Soul is a great benefit for any character. That said, you can always get it again in NG+ and beyond. Thank you for your comment.
Do not feel the need to restart. Technically, you don’t need anything that the boss souls offer to beat the game. That said, they do offer some of the best and more fun tools so keep an eye out for them in NG+. Thank you for your comment.

@@SSNebula Well, the Meat Cleaver is a weapon that requires a specific build around it. It scales with STR and DEX at S (physical damage) and with FTH at A (magic damage). But, at the same time, it really benefits from Light Weapon, so levels in Magic are also good.
I would not use it unless you can specifically build for it. You need a quality build, but investment in either FTH for constant damage, or MAG for higher burst damage through buffs.
I am running different versions of the build to see which is better, but I can tell you for sure that the weapon is extremely fun and worth it.

I read somewhere you can give the tower knight (iron soul) to karla for an explosion
I didn't use any of these souls except the phalanx soul by mistake on my first playthrough. But at least now i can use the soul of the old one and the dragon souls to level up. Thx for this guide much appreciated

I’ve just recently finished my 8th play through. I’m just leveling up weapons to have a variety of each type (sword, axe, etc) and each build (strength, magic, dex, etc) I’ve also enjoyed the world tendency system. Using the black tendency to farm materials to upgrade my weapons. I’ve unlocked and found every possible weapon, armor and accessory available, most recently the Penetrators Armor available in Fractured mode. FrownyGaming has helped me a bunch in this process, especially the ceramic coins needed in fractured mode.
I can’t wait to pick up Elden Ring and then I’ll have even more videos and helpful info that’s provided by this amazing creator. Thanks again!!
@@monroedeonne7248 you are the first person iv heard saying uv enjoyed the tendency system as most hate it with a passion including me ! it's a good thing they had dropped it from the others in the soul series as the community feedback most hated it 👎 I'm on ng + 10 now 🤣 iv not yet got around to going into fracture mode and hunting down all those coins for the armour only cause although it looks very cool the armour it has no benefits on wearing it other than showing players uv grinded plus looking cool 😎 I think iv got most of the weapons and having fun experimenting with a lot of them, my favourite is the Meat Clever it hits like a truck 🤣 I'm a temple knight strength build, iv had to go totally solo playing as iv no Internet connection and it's been a challenge expecially running pure black tendency, I hope one day to be devoting all my time to Elden Ring yet iv not got around to purchasing it yet, happy gaming 🥳
Pretty sure you only need one fat official armor piece to get yuria, I remember only needing the hat back when I first played it on PS3 but this was back when it had come out and at a friend's house...

Phanlanx is not really a big deal, but the Tower Knight does give a pretty good spell. Regardless, you can alwasy get them back in NG+. Thank you for your comment.

@@tanyadavies265 Besides the Dragon Bone Smasher, I am a fan of the Meat Cleaver, the Claymore, the Knight's Sword and the Winged Spear. I also REALLY like the Mirdan Hammer, fantastic weapon.
My first playthrough was with the Claymore and my favorite probably the Mirdan Hammer on a high HP regen build.

I just started playing this game a couple days ago and I have beaten for bosses now but I consumed their souls smh..I'm trying to makes a magic faith build and was wondering how to get more spells and miracles..now I just want to start all over after watching this..thanks for the info
Depending on how far you are, starting over might not be a bad idea. Any spells you miss from Boss Souls can’t be obtained until NG+. That might be a while. Thank you for your comment.

Hi I accidentally consumed the Silver Demon Soul, is it that big of a deal? I know I can just get it into NG+ but how many times do I need to get this soul? Do I just need it for a spell or for many other things?

I consumed the tower knight soul, a dragon soul, and that weird goopey boss at the start of the game. I had no idea i wasn't supposed to consume them am i missing out on a lot
Out of the three that you mentioned, the biggest loss is the Tower Knight. His soul can be used for a very good spell. As for the dragon soul, if it the Dragon God boss, then it's a big loss; on the other hand, if it is either the red or blue dragons in Archstone 1, then you are good. The goopey boss (Phalanx) is not a big loss. That one is cool to consume. Thank you for your comment.

I am assuming that the things you show in the video are all that can be crafted with said soul. You say that the lead demon soul can be used for spells miracles and weapons but it’s actually only for the scrapping spear. Am I correct in assuming so or is there other uses?
Correct. Everything that you can do with each Soul is shown in the video and then summarized in the chart at the end.
Now, the bit about each soul being used "for spells and miracles" is just me reading the item description of the item. Demon's Souls uses the same item description for all the Souls, regardless of what they are actually used for.

"At the beginning of Area 1-3, head to alley on the right of the fountain and unlock the Iron Door."

Currently helping my GF through this, I told her early on not to use boss souls but the other ones are safe to use. After a few hours playing, we get freke, and I see she doesn't have the tower knight soul, and we had just killed the fools idol and she didn't have her soul either. She said she knew she effed up and was quiet like a naughty kid hahaha. Love her though

Talk to him. Literally, use the “Talk” option. He will give you some lore and acknowledge that you have the soul. After that, you will get the option to give it to him. Thank you for your comment.

I wish I knew this, I headed into this game with ZERO prior knowledge. I started eating boss souls. It was only until I thought “I could save this so if I die and need to level up I can have this in the bank” I later by happenstance freed some guy who taught me spells and asked me to bring them to him. You could imagine my disdain when I only had 1 to give.
This is normal. There is nothing that teaches you this until you free Freke or Saint Urbain. Don’t feel bad, and carry this knowledge to improve your future builds. Thank you for your comment.

Other than on NG+2/3...then consume the souls (105k souls to upgrade once...and have made all available items with the souls)
If a player has their build planned out and know which Souls they need, they can consume all others for a healthy early game Soul Level boost. By the time you hit NG+2 and beyond, your build should be finished and consumption loses some value. Thank you for your comment!
@@FrownyGaming I agree, but if you're like me and want every weapon/spell in the game and, unlike me, didn't plan to play beyond NG+, you may have to use all souls (other than the dragon souls and the maiden in black's/old one's). But yes, I did exactly what you have suggested here as my NG+2 build is a magic build...that said, I can't complete my build until NG+2 is complete, as I want the 'pushed' talisman of beasts. I have 40 vitality, 50 magic, 40 intelligence and working my way to 43 faith to complete the build. Your channel has been immensely helpful, I'm very grateful. Great content, keep up the great work!

So the "Unknown Warrior Soul" and "Unknown Hero Soul" and the Renowned versions of the same souls are also safe to use? Possibly as well as the "Storied Warrior Soul" since I don't think those are from bosses and you just find them layout around I assume those are purely for souls points and not to trade for item or spells?
Yeah. All soul items that you pick up in the game are good to consume.
Just be careful with Boss Souls and Colorless Demon Souls. Those are the ones you want to keep.

That honestly depends on what you are looking for. If you want the platinum trophy, then you need the good ending for the Maiden in Black's soul. Now, if you do not care for spell or trophies, get the bad ending every time. The Soul the Old One gives you 200,000 souls and that is a lot of levels. Thank you for your comment.

I waited till almost ready for NG+ and used every Soul for weapons wanted and spells there was 2 left and didn't need so ate em. I'm at point where all I have left is PvP, King A, leveling up, killing all NPCs.

I heard about the dragon bone smasher and wanted to make a build for it. Later I used the searing demon soul without knowing you need it to upgrade weapons like the dragon bone smasher. I just thought you could exchange it for a weapon and that was it and I wasn't interested in that
This is unfortunate. The Searing Demon Soul is a great benefit for any character. That said, you can always get it again in NG+ and beyond. Thank you for your comment.
