he's basically perfected straining his voice. Total opposite of an insult. Its extremely impressive seeing the strained notes hit nearly perfectly in tune, considering how much hes had to push his voice to get to the point of reaching the note. This man also shows that you can strain your voice and sound amazing and powerful, contrary to traditional singing rules frowning upon it.

How is Rival Sons not a bigger deal? I literally had not heard of them until about a month ago. I just saw them live in Detroit this past Tuesday and they freaking blew the doors off The Fillmore. What an absolutely incredible live show they put on. LOVE this band. Jay's vocals and Scott's guitar playing are just at an unbelievable level.
It's our job as the fans of RS to spread the word...they are definitely the best band in Rock right now...I just hope Feral Roots brings them the recognition they deserve.

I don't think most folks have any idea how hard it is for a great female vocalist to sing this song. For a great male vocalist, it's damn near impossible. Yes. But it's clearly not healthy, and that's the issue. But he could add distorsión without straining in an unhealthy way.
