Absolutely. I think a performance as good as this shows more respect to the original artist than a band just trying to imitate them. Shows a lot of talent and class.
Jay Buchanan is fucking unbelievable. He's the epitome of a rock n roll singer. His voice is beyond phenomenal. I've been a fan from the very start and ecstatic they're taking off properly now.
The first time I saw them was opening up for Halestorm. HIs voice sent shivers down my spine. Royal Thunder was the opening band and Mlny Parsonz did the same thing. Both amazing vocaliss.
@@MrRich6505 'Cause it's a tribute at an awards show. They were probably given a short amount of time to perform. They also actually played Changes, but I guess that got cut out of the video. That's the Grammys for you.
They have the same look the audience in Paris did in 1971 when Black Sabbath came on the scene. They didn't know what to make of them. They were standing in front of rock brilliance and they didn't even know it at the time.
I assume Sabbath got to choose who opened for them on their final tour, and I'm glad they chose Rival Sons! Not a lot of people were enthusiastic about them but they have such a soulful, bluesy sound and ultimately that's the sound that shaped Sabbath (or well, Delta blues at the very least). Best show ever and seeing them cover Black Sabbath makes me happy.
Finally a return to great music by great band. Not only is this good, but their own music is fantasticl. I'm happy for my sons in their 20's, they now have a band that can actually be referred to as a "rock band".
That was excellent -- I'm from that era, and that was well worth the listen... I'd wager Ozzy and the rest are all feeling the honor you're shining on them.
I'm not sure why Greta Van Fleet gets all the attention as THE throwback band to see. They're very talented, but have a lot of growing to do as they still sound like a (very, very good) bunch of kids. But the Rival Sons? These guys are GROWN! And this is some of the most electric music to play at the Grammy Awards in years! I hope it signals a return to at least some rock at award shows. If you've not been out top see these guys - do it! If you have a choice of seeing GVF or these guys on the same day in different places, wait a few years on GVF, and go see the Sons now!
I've watched this awesome interpretation of Sabbath's classics dozens of times now. A shout out to Rival Sons, please do full length covers of these songs! Love it!
Lots of new fans to a band I have followed all over the USA for 10 years. Please do yourself a favor and check out the Rival Sons entire catalog if you haven’t all ready. There is so much magic in the previous 5 albums it literally saved my life. Stay blessed
The secret to Rival Sons? They're all fucking great! Guitar, Bass, Vocals and Drums. The drummer is often overlooked, but he's a damn beast. I love his Funk-sound, so tight!
I was first introduced to rival sons when they opened for Stone Temple pilots a handful of years back. This was the first band that I heard on site and instantly fell in love with. As if I've always loved them. They are my top three favorite bands of all time.
These guys just killin' it, fantastic! Please, please release full length covers of these songs! I didn't know of this band previous to this, now I'm a fan.
I got to see Sabbath back in late 70's with Ozzy...amazing shows and Rival Sons does an incredible job of covering the granddaddy's of metal. Thanks for posting!
Love these guys. First time Ive heard them do a cover (or two). Love their original stuff, reminds me of Led Zeppelin. Just ordered their latest album.

Gracias Alex. Fenomenal
Long Live Rock 'n' Roll, people ! thank you for video and link Alex Febrero
Wowwwww.... Saludos de Brasil..... 🤘🤘🤘
I appreciate that he didnt try to impersonate Ozzy. So much easier to listen to when a singer uses their own voice.
for some strange reason he mixed robbert plant and ozzy's style for this song. More in terms of range and use of registers than actual sound tho.
That guy is an amazing singer, his voice comes from some where way down deep. I've seen Rival Sons 4 times, mind blown each and every time.
Exactly!
Jay is the real deal. Rival Sons kill it...
Absolutely. I think a performance as good as this shows more respect to the original artist than a band just trying to imitate them. Shows a lot of talent and class.

I couldn't agree more

Rock a d roll?
Saw them open up for STP in 2018!!
If Janis Joplin and Jim Morrison hade a love child 🤟
High notes gave me chills. PHENOMENAL singer. Loved Rival Sons as soon as I heard “Too Bad”
I envy you; they have a great back catalog to explore!
Me too. HE'S AMAZING!!!
I have just discovered them. Heard Black Coffee and went “Fark!”
That mic distance control is just perfect!
It's the trigger control of 2020.
Goosebumps, chills. These guys are phenomenal. My fav band.
Jesus Christ they are good. Proud follower of Rival Sons since Pressure & Time here!!
Seen them thrice times live🎉
Not with this bass player tho
they took 2 sabbath songs played them perfect and did so with their sound , not easy ! class!
They played about 15% of war pigs. GTFO.

I’d love to see them do a whole Sabbath set. They’d kill it!!!
Not drums

Love love love Rival Sons!
gosh this band is excellent, i'm so happy i've seen them live 3 times

drummer is on point with them fills
Man he is so on point, tight as fuck
One of the most underrated drummers out there.
And tuned perfectly. That snare is a sledgehammer.
Mike Miley
And great sounding kit aswell
Audience didn't know how to act when real musicians take the stage. Doesn't happen very often these days.

400 k around the corner :D

And that....is RIVAL SONS. Best rock band in the world right now.
Agreed!
It's all said
Slow your roll. They’re good but not in the same league as Gov’t Mule, Tedeschi trucks , or Vulfpeck ....

I've loved this band for some time. Great versions, I never expected. Rock out Gents. Brilliant.
jay’s voice is pure magic man
From the first note... recognizing the song, the whole audience gasps. Then Jay opens his mouth and everyone is on the floor in faint. Oh my. So good!

Audioslave?

Best got damn band on the planet .. their original music , their covers .. just an absolutely juggernaut of a true RocknRoll band .
Best thing that’s been at the Grammys in many years
Ashamed to say I just discovered these guys but rockin them daily now
Those little pauses where Jay's voice just vibrates in the air are....just....other-wordly!
Hate me if you must but this is the first time I’ve heard this band and HOLY SHIT. I’m so excited to listen to their catalog of tunes. Top notch.
All the albums are top notch!
No hate at all they are awesome.
Saw them on tour with Black Sabbath end tour.
Best rock band currently making music.
J Kyle - it’s all about passing it on spread the word amigo , best band on the circuit today by a country mile.
You're in for a ride. I've been listening to them since they formed and they manage to surprise me every album or show.
That was excellent -- I'm from that era, and that was well worth the listen... I'd wager Ozzy and the rest are all feeling the honor you're shining on them.
Rock n roll ain't dead, we're coming for you...
Best cover possible for these songs Mind blown 🤯 holy shit
THIS IS AMAZING THAT THEY DID THIS.
I am here because of you🙏🏽
Agreed and absolutely smashed it
Perfect song choices. They are well suited for old sabbath
Saw them live a couple of years ago. SO GOOD !!!
🤘🤘🎸 🎸
I recently saw them live in Phoenix, AZ, earlier this month with STP, and it was one of the best shows in my entire life! This is amazing ♥
AMO Sykes I was at the same show! These dudes are bad asses!
Me too. Third time seeing them and they kill it every time. Blew STP off the stage.
Yes! I feel the exact same way about when I saw them in 2018. I've been a fan since 2012, and I can't believe more people haven't heard of them.
I don’t understand why this band isn’t more popular. People have to go see them live

The band the world needs, GREAT VOICE, GREAT MUSICIANS!
Saw them open for sabbath at the Hollywood bowl Was blown away absolutely fabulous live!!
Did they just play actual good music at the Grammy’s for once? Is that Rock music at the Grammy’s?!
Adam Darby I was wondering the same thing
Doesn't mean it was televised. They don't start televising until the bullshit pop "artists" show up.
Highly suspect played at the Grammys a while back and the crowd was dead, they literally don’t know how to act when in front of real musicians
That's not rock btw.
@@DipayanBhui sabbath were hard rock. They didn't even like the term metal for years and years..know your stuff.
Bloody love Rival Sons, and this is awesome.
I enjoyed this immensely. Based on this performance, I would say they would flat out nail just about any song they covered.
Omfg. Just when I thought I couldn't love these boys anymore they go and do this. Wow!
Our boys finally made it to the big leagues. So well deserved!!!
when you make really hard stuff look easy ... with class ... amazing band!
They nailed it! Jay is an awesome singer, wow
They remind me of a young and hungry "The Cult". Both extremely talented bands, with amazing musicianship.
I hear The Cult in his vocals, as well as Dream On era Steven Tyler on the song Feral Roots.
Aww I still love The Cult, listen to all their songs at least once a week. I grew up with them in their heyday, also very underrated band.
Super performance!
Thank you so much for posting this video . The Rival Sons are at the top of the rock pile at the moment , and this was just ,,,,, Fantastic ,,,,,!
You're welcome ❤
So..so..so..so awesome. Not only have they great songs. Every Cover they make is a delight and worth the original.
Notice he pulls the mic away every time he belts, top tier singer
Haha he'd be a pretty poor professional singer if he didn't do this!
It's seriously one of the first things you should learn
RS are a must see live band. Saw them this year for the first time and decided i would travel if i had a chance to see then again.
amazing vocals! How am I just finding out about these guys??
So many awesome tracks they have. And they did a cover...... ozzy been proud
Got to see them at Bonnaroo this past year. It was some of the best live singing ive ever heard!
I saw Rival Sons supporting Sabbath in 2017 and this just brings me back to then. Holy shit they are amazing
I saw them also on that tour in Albuquerque and out of the 6 times I have seen them it was easily one of the best!!
Best rock singer in this era
They made it through with all the backup music that would make sabbath proud They owned this song!! Great Job
Wow, this must be the first cover of these songs that I actually listened all the way through. Pretty fucking good
GREAT...Just great..! (super cover - version) Yeahhhh!

At the start of War Pigs, when he got really quiet on some of the lines, that gave me chills.
Good Stuff. Seen them twice in Nashville Tennessee great shows
One of the greatest modern Rock bands along with Royal Blood. Can't believe I didn't see this performance live.
Jorn Vallis Highly Suspect first album is also a modern day masterpiece
Please dont compare royal blood to sabbath or classic rock
@@paulheywood0309 he said “modern” bands so he actually didn’t...

I seen these Guys live Once and they Absolutely Shook the Place Up and Rock our Faces Old School Style! Rock n roll Runs in their veins!
Led Zeppelin doing Black Sabbath!! Oh yeah!!! Rival sons, the greatest to rock’n rollers currently and for the past decade!
Hell f***ing YESSSS!!! They shredded that song. Amazing!
See Rival Sons a couple of time's as a Support band, one of those time's supporting Sabbath on The End Tour.
Awesome band!!
Time's? S'eriously?
The shortened versions is a show decision, not a band decision. It was the same for all the other covers. Great job RS!
Yes! That's is true
Wish I could've been there. They were amazing at The Wiltern...
The secret to Rival Sons? They're all fucking great! Guitar, Bass, Vocals and Drums. The drummer is often overlooked, but he's a damn beast. I love his Funk-sound, so tight!
When he started singing Paranoid all I could think was how that would be the sound if the band Bad Company wrote/covered that song.
Hahahaha got that Paul Rodgers feel to it
