- So you want to buy a GR Supra? Well here are some reasons on what you should consider when you are going to purchase. While the GR Supra may seem like a dream car for many enthusiasts, it's important to understand its drawbacks before making a purchase. In this video, we'll be discussing some of the most common reasons why some people might want to steer clear. It's not all that bad and some can even consider I am being petty...well fawk u then. Kind of hard to compare a GTR with a GR Supra. The GTR even used is often more expensive than a brand new Supra.

@@KennyHann I would have loved a GTR but all the used ones are expensive. I settled on a new A91 Supra. That GTR with these inflated priced was beyond my budget. Maybe in a few years. Who knows
Even old GT-Rs outperform the new Supra. I don't get this comparison. Money and performance are greater in the GT-R.
Yeah fuckers with over 100,000 mi on their GTRs still want at least 70 grand if not more legendary car but delusional. Kick rocks.

Just wanted to give a heads up to those watching about the video.
You can remove the plastic bit covering the charging tray, you have extra storage in the seat back pockets, and to turn the air off just hold down the off button for a few seconds rather than pressing over and over until at 0. Hope this helps!

Hey you can take the cover over the phone charger out, then your phone will fit perfectly and its easier to put in and take out. Fellow supra owner here

I did it backwards. I came from a R35 GTR to my A91 Supra. The GTR was wicked fast and fun to drive, but I drove it for 5 years and wanted something a little more refined. I’m really enjoying my A91 in refraction blue.

@@prodnxbu I’m leaning with the Supra overall. It’s much more comfortable, better interior and surprisingly it handles better in stock form. However, looks and sound wise, the GTR takes the win.
@@ThreeDogsBar Awesome! I'm really hoping the get a MK5 Supra in the next year 1/2. It looks like it's really a great overall car. I'm 5'6'' so I'm not concerned with interior, I've lived with a 2018 Camaro and was just fine with the way it was visibility wise

The shifter was definitely was complicated when I had my Supra. Trying to put it in reverse was super annoying.

New subscriber here. I got my 2020 3.0 Premium Supra last year, 13-month ownership, and 24k miles on it. I'm surprised you didn't mention the blind spots and the non-convex side mirrors as a con. Also, get a mirror tap kit and a blend mount for your radar detector - gives it a cleaner look unless you have multiple cars then disregard it.

I took the tray off for the phone so I can just throw it there and it charges. You just got to pull it off

Get a man bag if you have that much stuff. No complaints with my 23 A91-MT in C U Later gray. If I need more room I drive my 4Runner.
100%. Once I started carrying that around it basically solved that problem 😆
I love my A-tech mount. Puts the phone in a great location and out of the way. Yeeeet the phone cover out of the wireless charger too.

I wish the GTR would get a full redesign at this point. It looks so clunky and goofy next to your supra. I agree with most of your complaints though. I've been messing around confirguring them online, watching vids, ever since 2019... can't bring myself to pull the trigger.
Dude 100%, and even the new one they announced is basically still the same design. Although the GTR is my dream car it doesn’t give that same spark as it did before. but the Supra cons aren’t as bad imo and I think the pros definitely out way the cons. You should get one too 😜
GT-R has always looked blocky and muscular. That's what makes it look cool imo.. The car has serious presence on the road. Give it another decade or two and the car will still look good.

Don’t have any issues with my iPhone and the charge pad on premium 23 supra…. Wireless apple CarPlay works seem less.
Wireless CarPlay is a bit finicky. But it’s not too bad for me at least.
I was very much PRO GT-R since 2008 but now in 2023 there are definitely better cars to buy, Apple CarPlay is only available in 2018+ and the car still has 6 gears where as cars are now using 7-speed DCTs or 8-speed ZF. I still love the GT-R but it’s aging. Just my 2 cents
8 speed ZF is so good. Especially as a non DCT!
R35 is overplayed and overhyped.. those will never compare to the original skyline. But this Supra is Mean I love it.

I use the black part to put my hand on getting out. No hand prints and rigid. Net on the passenger side is a space to put some junk. As others said the rear seat pockets are clutch. There is a janky "storage" bin you can buy that is held in that small space behind the back cup holder which gives a lot of space and sits nicely on the sub box. Anyway, mine is a manual (23), and it's worth it for the gear 🥊. Wind buffeting is atrocious for sure. :) You don't need the key to access the trunk. There is a button on the drivers side door just under the front of the low side space on the driver's door. Don't know if thats new for 23 but it's there ;)
There is a trunk release inside that is standard, regardless of year or model. I was focusing on the use case of somebody coming up to the car. The only way to open the trunk is if you were to click and hold the key fob. Which can get a bit annoying sometimes. I daily the supra in the spring, summer, and fall so that was the minor annoyance I found. Nothing too bad though lol. Also nice choice on the manual!
I’m 6’5” and couldn’t fit in it comfortably. I literally had to roll out of the car to get out.
Hahah my friend is more wide then tall and he has the same problem too getting in and out of the Supra.

Hey I'm having an issue with my 2022 gr supra 3.0 premium, and please if anyone else can chime in on this as well it would be most helpful. so upon initial startup of the vehicle after it has been sitting for more than a couple hours or so, once you put the car in drive and attempt to push on the gas pedal, the car bogs down and theres a prolonged "deadzone" where the car idle dips down and wants to die upon pressing the gas. the car wakes up after like 2 seconds or so and surges forward, but this has gotten me into close calls at red lights and intersections where I am expecting the car to take off from a stop but instead it just bogs down for a couple seconds and then wakes up and starts kind of spinning out as if it thinks I wanted a delayed acceleration. anyone else having this issue and how can I fix it? ive been to the dealer multiple times and they just keep telling me they cant replicate the issue so they cant help me

I experience that issue as well sometimes. Only happens to me when I am driving the car hard in sport mode on the street and I come to a quick red light or a stop sign. I give throttle input but the car just bogs and RPMs stay low, then out of nowhere the car just takes off. Feels like the car is getting ready for an unexpected take off. It is very random and occurs seldomly. My current mods are catless downpipe, intake, and JB4 on 91. I also have Sport + coded in via Bimmercode. Let me know if you have similar setup. Maybe something with the setup can be causing it? Catless downpipe not creating enough back pressure? Who knows.

Blind spot are crazy. Plenty of times I caught myself merging not seeing a car next to me. Brought the suma performance mirrors OMG night and day difference top 5 mod.

I have a 2014 GT-R but I want to buy another daily I'm stuck between the audi rs3 and the supra, the supra to me looks very nice and that b58 engine is also very capable, now the rs3 sounds sick and has awd so it's a hard decision.
Dang you living the dream lol. Imo I would go RS3 since you already have a 2 door car. But I feel like the space in the RS3 isn’t much to make it huge factor haha.

In and out mobility on a 2 door sports car is also kind of dumb. If you wanted more room, you should have just gotten a sedan like a q50 red sport. Or an m4.
Q50 is not a performance car in terms off the Supra. M4 was a car I was considering along with the M2, but the b58 is way more mechanically sound then those motors.

I was at a Jeep/Ram dealership getting a oil change in my Wrangler and they had a used 2021 blacked out Supra in the showroom. Looked very nice. Only thing I don't like about the car is the rear spoiler. I think the car would look better if it either had didn't have it, or at least had made the spoiler as wider, like have it reach out as far as the side of taillight.

these are ZL1 mud flaps
2 different car, one is easier to put together and maintain, the other complicated and expensive to work with.
On the GTR you will need to upgrade twice the amount of parts than the supra due to the V6 and they cost much more than a single part from the A90.
I want a GTR but won't be doing many mods in it.
It’s funny, the sheer amount of power and mods the stock block can handle on these a90’s compared to the GTR.
Interior space for a 2 door sports car is kind of a dumb reason not to buy a car.
I think it depends on how often you drive and what the car is used for. I know a couple of people who share the same complaints because they daily it.

The markup is what killed it for me. Got a BRZ instead for daily. Building my fd for the track instead. But I will say I would build a gr supra for the track if I got bored of the fd.
Bro. I really resonate with this. I had opportunity to buy a car before the supra 3 times..but it was the mark up that they threw on at the end that killed the deal. Glad I walked away from it though or else I would have never chosen the supra. BRZ is still a good choice! Sometimes I wish I had less power LOL.
IT S A SPORTS CAR. what you complained are mostly bec you choose a wrong car for your purpose, you should have gone with a comfort or premium car. (only exception is the steering wheel thing)

I’ve been inside a Gallardo and R8. You’re right there are basically no places to put your stuff but I guess that’s given since most won’t daily those cars lol, and it’s a 3.0 premium.
