Man that new mac mini sure looks weird.
The 500 v2 that just came out took over my hx stomp setup it was literally so easy to set up. the cab sim is a god blessing it’s a great investment with 2020 being so great
Damn, I guess Darkglass never disappoints.
Darkglass is the new Ampeg. Everyone has been using them now lol
as someone who owns this amp
the only thing thats wrong about this video is
the aux in only comes out of the headphone out
making it perfect to use as the most quiet practice amp possible
but i was kinda bummed out when i realized that was the case trying to playing laong without headphones
I bought this amp after watching Jacob play with Intervals and I’m not disappointed. Really a versatile great sounding amp. Love the shirt too Fluff!!
Just ordered one + the matching DG410NE cabinet. Can't wait.
Sounds beautiful.
Sounds awesome. I might get the 500 when I start building a bass rig.
Sick bruh, fluff I just got a sterling SUB 4, I know we’re all guitar players here but it’d be cool if you did some bass stuff, like how you go about bass lines, how you go bout tones etc. just for like little mixes you do on here that would be awesome!!
ooo my sub loved those tones! My face was smiling more than your California smile EQ, I'm just giddy cause its so midi!
Perfect timing, been eyeing one of these beauties!
Get one. You'll love it. I have the alpha omega and it's insanely good.
@@theinfamoustuba I'm not a metal player at all. I play more like Fat Wreck Chords style skatepunk, still think this would pull it off? I'd actually use it MOSTLY in a Me First and The Gimme Gimmes style cover band...
Hey Fluff, maybe you can check out the hotone ampero one, since you already made a video of the GE200 and theres not many content of this amazing modeler on youtube!
Was hoping to hear it with a baritone guitar tbh
Knowing Fluff, I'm astounded that you didn't plug a guitar into this, just for s4175 and giggles!!😎
I like the Darkglass stuff some but it always sounds the same, scooped way out and bass sounds muddy and almost like it has a sub octave on it. I wish it could have a more traditional sound but with the same abilities.
Thank you for this review. Was getting real tired of watching slap bass reviews of this amp. Great review. Bought cause of this video.
So if your running an actual cab does the cab sim damage it or does it even make sense to use the sims then?
Wait what happened to EZ Bass? Is it not totally kewl anymore?
I love my Darkglass head. Got it dialed in to sound like an idling bulldozer. \m/\m/
Thats an awsome description.
Cool
Great amps. Sadly, my V.1 seems to be on its deathbed. It's giving off all kinds of strange crackling noises and started to hum, aswell, yesterday. I contacted the DG service but didn't get a an answer, yet. We'll see if there's still hope for it.
What happened
@@FlannelGorilla Never got an answer from DG, neither to my mail nor to the post on their FB page. I bit the bullet and made the switch to a Mesa Boogie M6 Carbine.
I feel like Darkglass has just become a bass standard for any modern band, I have a 900v2 Love the thing! I was inspired by Dave Hollingsworth of Toska to get one and pair it with a Darkglass Alpha Omega Ultra Pedal. amazing Combo!
Suomi mainittu, torille!
for anyone whose really into Darkglass produ ts, what would be the one Darkglass product you would desert usland with?
this amp
it has a compressor, 2 different drive circuits, a huge graphic eq
ir loader
effects loop
its basically an all in one bass tone solution and you can even record with it directly into an interface and have it do all your processing in the box itself and not have to worry about it blowing up from not having a speaker load active because it only activates the power amp if you have a speaker cable plugged in, which is genius, and im not sure why other amps dont have that as a feature
and you can use it as a silent way to practice because of the headphone out and aux in
also its small and incredibly lightweight, you can literally put it in a backpack
I'd like to hear the VMT (vintage) drive channel on here.
I think it’s better if you want a lot of distortion
he does multiple times in the video
the blue lights mean vintage
red is b3k
and its a pretty noticeable difference in the gain structure
b3k drive is a lot more grindy and harsh
vintage is closer to what youd get from something like an ampeg svt
7:30
Dynamic compressor? Wtf ? So does it ... not compress?
Maybe he means it is responsive to dynamic playing
It’s a cool amp, but I don’t think it’s for me. I think the meat smoke hybrid is more my speed lol
Still no fucking rack ears. God damnit.
Can you do another rate or roast my rig?
Breaking News: Fluff plays real Bass Guitar for first time in months!
why all darkglass products have this harsh high end i really dislike it for bass tones.
Come on. You know we were all waiting for you to plig a guitar into that sucker
Omg can I have??????
I love the B7k, but to be honest, I am not a big fan of those lightweight amps. They lack of punch, yes, they do. It became better over times, but a Class A/B - powersection still blows a Class D power amp out of the water.
I'll stay with my old, trusty GenzBenz GBE 750 and 1200. Those two are beasts!
But yes, I have a Genzler Magellan 800, for Coffeehouse and Bar gigs. This is where small, lightweight amps shine. Give me a venue with 500 people, and I'd prefer the big stuff.
BIG THUMP, SMALL PACKAGE! hehehehe penis
I’m honestly sick of the microtube sound. Everyone uses it now.
I get what you're saying, but think how ubiquitous the Ampeg sound has been in rock/metal for decades. It's good to have new options.
same, the dingwall + B7K is like all the metal bass tones now a days lol (which sucks because I have a NG2 and a b7k lolll)
I agree. Too trebly and gritty for my taste.
No different than how sansamp and ampeg dominated the heavy music scene for bass for decades. The Darkglass stuff is actually really versatile if you let it be and don't go for the stereotypical tones. What gear do you find is a better alternative for heavy music?
B-b-but Fluff??? Why microTUBE if no TUBe???? Where TUBE FLUFF?? WHERE TUBE!!!
if sounds like real tube but doesn't have tubes, is there really anything wrong?😎
Boomer noodles on his bass, rambles about technology or something idk
