thank you.... at least history (as of 2018) still has us as the highest-scoring 7th place corps ever. and the first bluecoats corps to ever win a caption during finals week.
2 weeks before finals Bloo knocked off Cavies, Cadets AND BD in a show. And then 2 weeks later Bloo gets scored several points below everyone else. Crown and Bloo 07 were a couple of the best shows in history and were both scored low on GE. This was when I stopped following DCI because it was clear the judging was becoming a snobfest and ignoring good writing and playing.
Absolutely love this era! Glad I was able to go back and take a peek before things got more complicated with props and spandex. I just like this overall era better, with the uniforms and, seemingly, the more dynamic output from Drum Corps back then. Subjectively, of course.
I just finished watching each of your 'best of' DCI videos and wanted to say a huge THANK YOU! Awesome job, and can't wait to see what you come up with for 08. I'll be checking back regularly!
Jeremy, this very video first showed me what dci was. I saw it back in 2008. I would like to personally thank you for these awesome vids. I will be marching Euph for the 2010 Season :)
8:00 to the end, LET'S GO, BCCG!! i was busy running my ass off at the front of that form, but watching the footage way after the fact, you guys were spinning your asses off and it was super clean! in ski masks, no less.
i would like to thank hooever u are that put these edits together...u got the one of two things ive wanted about dci 2007. theyre both santa clara and im curious, if the world was fair and i seen all dci 2007 santa clara outperformed evryone in all areas judges judge. didnt they? they had SOUND at the end of theyre performance that not any of the competitors even considerd.
I'm sure they do but I'll be cheering for the Bluecoats as usual. Love those guys. Their plumes don't make me gag too so we'll just have to see. Today's their first competition without rain. :D
Absolutely, I know I talk big about Crown because I have become a fan of them, but I think this year will be the most competetive since the early 90's when Star was a part of the activity.SCV looks good this year too....should be VERY interesting.
the 2010 season is certainly going to be an interesting one, INCREDIBLY competitive I am predicting, with new corps rising to the top and the old great ones still being there
Whatever dude. Crown WILL recieve the Gold this year. Their show is so deep, and the program design. WOW. From a design standpoint they have the best show of the year to work off. I can't wait to both see and hear the finishing product from Carolina Crown in 2009. As far as what the judges appeal to...trust me Crown definitely has the inside track to a medal, and I see a gold in their future.
Rawr! I really think the BD closer was just not powerful enough in winds to really blow me away. I also think Cadets had a great (but again not strong enough) finish. Cadets usually have such good show designs but somehow just can't get a good year. They both need to take a look at how PR endings work, nice and strong
ok what was the show starts with a metallic sounding drum hit or something and there are very big trumpet solos while the band just does like really fast hits. also has a cool drum solo then just end without you knowing? I really would like to know
the cadets clip is from their arrangement of symphonic movement. its a concert piece. i cant remember exactly if that section is from the original or if it is one of those jay bocook moments
No. CrownGuard is what our guard is called. Carolina crown colorguard is too much to say (same with the winterguard) so in both DCI and WGI, the guard is known as CrownGuard
they just had one.... last year? I know I want one too because I am a Phantom Fanbut like... it probably isn't going to happen in 2010 unless they do an EXTREME swing in visual especially
@360Alexrules08 I agree. However, 2007 I think they actually deserved it; Winged Victory was very well done IMO... but for most of their other recent wins, you're right...
Not to bring you down or anything, but everyone said that about BD last year, and Phantom took it from beneath them all sneaky-like. Not to say that Phantom will win again, but just that a LOT can happen during the season, no matter how good or bad a show looks now.
The bluecoats were extremely underscored this year
thank you.... at least history (as of 2018) still has us as the highest-scoring 7th place corps ever. and the first bluecoats corps to ever win a caption during finals week.
criminally?
2 weeks before finals Bloo knocked off Cavies, Cadets AND BD in a show. And then 2 weeks later Bloo gets scored several points below everyone else. Who ever scored Phantom 4th and a low fourth at that I hope does not judge anymore
I appreciate the fact that you end all of your videos with Phantom's closing statement
always the highlight of the season for me
I have nothing but admiration for all of those connected with programs such as this. The hard work & dedication simply amazes me.
Excellent video. 2007 shows to not get old. My first year shooting DCI for Jolesch. So rad to be down in the action again. Thank you, 2007 corps.
My personal opinion, this was the best year by far.... shows got more complex and then that's when crown strated showin up big
Watching this video in 2017. These ten minutes of clips flew by as fast as performing a 10 minute show
Man, 8:56 has to be the definition of the emotion that comes along with marching with a Drum Corp.
Absolutely love this era! Glad I was able to go back and take a peek before things got more complicated with props and spandex. I just like this overall era better, with the uniforms and, seemingly, the more dynamic output from Drum Corps back then. Subjectively, of course.
Don't understand how phantom got a 94 score and not at least a 96

Yeah! CrownCorps is kicking everyone's butts this summer! It's so great!!
man i love em all!
(especially likes Phantom regiment and the Caveliers)
when they play it sends chills down my spine cause its so intense and loud!
THANK YOU for finishing it with the end of phantom
Phantom's finish to the 2007 Show was EPIC
(lets not forget 2003 and 1991)
LOVE that Phantom spin of the brass at the end...WOW...Great shows.
Triple Crown and On Air
8:00 to the end, LET'S GO, BCCG!! i was busy running my ass off at the front of that form, but watching the footage way after the fact, you guys were spinning your asses off and it was super clean! in ski masks, no less.
Ahh I was hoping to see "FREEZE! You have the right to remain silent...........Anything you play, can and will be used against you! DAHHHHH!!!!"
Wow..that DM was so emotive at the end. It was great !!!
i would like to thank hooever u are that put these edits together...u got the one of two things ive wanted about dci 2007. theyre both santa clara and im curious, if the world was fair and i seen all dci 2007 santa clara outperformed evryone in all areas judges judge. didnt they? they had SOUND at the end of theyre performance that not any of the competitors even considerd.
you forgot...
"You have the right to remain silent...."
Bluecoats Criminal Guard Feature....
HOLY MOSES.
"Anything you play can and will be used against you."
*corps reenters at ffff volume*
The blue coats, the cavaliers, and phantom were the best back then and they still are!!!
ON AIR IS AWESOME...love that show..i want a phantom victory soon
I'm sure they do but I'll be cheering for the Bluecoats as usual. Love those guys. Their plumes don't make me gag too so we'll just have to see. Today's their first competition without rain. :D

You forgot Madison Scouts' Opening. Unique. Til this day, nobody else has done anything like it.
Awesome job l;ast night Crown...keep on pushing yourselves and extending your lead!
First year that Crown got their signature killer brass sound.
the 2010 season is certainly going to be an interesting one, INCREDIBLY competitive I am predicting, with new corps rising to the top and the old great ones still being there
My visual tech aged out in 2007 with the Cadets.
They did this year! :D
Whatever dude. Crown WILL recieve the Gold this year. Their show is so deep, and the program design. WOW. From a design standpoint they have the best show of the year to work off. those mellophones were rippin it 6:07-6:19! Gotta love it!
Sweet! I'm rocking out their pit this summer. Keep watch for this year's show. It's a little different music wise, but pretty sweet
This was the year a badass drum break earned the bluedevils a title. Phantom was so damn good everywhere else though.
@JeremysBugles OMG! your in phantom regiment this year?? I get to see you in 3 and a half hours in Charleston WV and tomorrow in Louisville!
I can't wait. july 25, Cavis, Phantom, Crown and BD all in one place =DDDDDDD
@JeremysBugles nice man, Our visual tech marched Buick in Phantom in '08. How bout them Jupiters? We got brand new ones this year.
Troopers should definitely be on this list!! that is the year they came back!
David Nava *2009*
I liked Carolina Crown's show, especially the ending.
also, i love how you always end with phantom.
I think Triple Crown is one of the best DCI shows I have ever seen.
hole crap the drum break at 4:40 is insane in the membrane!
i'm not even a Cadets fan, but at 3:36 that is soooo awesome. was that the opening to their show?
i know there have been harder ones and stuff... its just my favorite, like with how the whole band joins the movements and stuff
I recognize Blue Shades anywhere...
Cadets+Blue Shades= the epitome of awesomeness
I apoligize in advance if i offend anybody, But you a phantom fan? Is that why all the vids end with them? I'm just wondering homie.
Rawr! I really think the BD closer was just not powerful enough in winds to really blow me away. I also think Cadets had a great (but again not strong enough) finish. Cadets usually have such good show designs but somehow just can't get a good year. They both need to take a look at how PR endings work, nice and strong
wow haha i just realized how close i live to the home of the bluecoats
Huh, I guess there's a reason why the Top 7 hornlines scores were so tight...
ok what was the show starts with a metallic sounding drum hit or something and there are very big trumpet solos while the band just does like really fast hits. also has a cool drum solo then just end without you knowing? I really would like to know
4:18 is one of the best drum breaks ever i think
from 8:27 and on i started getting chills
at 1:36 trumpets on the wrong foot lol but other than that all of this is SICK
the cadets clip is from their arrangement of symphonic movement. its a concert piece. i cant remember exactly if that section is from the original or if it is one of those jay bocook moments
Drew Wilkie!!!! 5:26 nicee job!!!
9:41....brings back memories...
2007 was the Devils' "meh" show. Loved me some Phantom that your though.
No. CrownGuard is what our guard is called. Carolina crown colorguard is too much to say (same with the winterguard) so in both DCI and WGI, the guard is known as CrownGuard
Blue Devils Lead: "You forgot what a concert A in the staff sounds like? Here, let me play is 3 octaves higher for you."
hahaha geeh i wonder what drum corp is the favorite here.... go phantom!!
does anyone know what the cadet's closer was for 2007?
DAAM 1:53 i swear i think crown has the best brass in dci. hands down dude. chill factor was off the charts
Yeah! Crownguard is getting our buts kicked this summer! its so great!
whoa blue knights had visual that was pretty demanding
Crown is using brass horns now, not chrome. Beautiful, nice, full warm sound.
they disbanded in 1993 and made the show blast
9:42 is awesome
7:06
Love our band to pull that off.
imagine carolina crown and phantom put together in a brass circle with a single person in the middle. that person would probally blow up or somthing.
A kick-out wedge. Members just it "the wedge".
I think I still have about 20 bead necklaces from glassmen!!!
Agreed.
4:25 drumbreak is epic too
yup i think all the DMs should get into it like that thats what i tell my schools band DM to do something cool at the beging and get into to it
I wasnt a big fan on Phantoms music for this year, but there show was still good.
its a tradtion. my band director marched bluecoats three years. our marching band yelled blue from the stands at the atlanta show last year lol.
hahahaha 8:56 haha wow the DM
@SirLunchbox8907 Your telling me? Its a really close tie but if i could see anyone take it this year it would be Crown or Bluecoats.
Phantom deserved this win hands down.
@360Alexrules08 - They do love that chord progression, don't they?
Believe it or not, Phantom actually had some staff issues this past year, people basicly took their rings and left
oh yea, they do have tricks up their sleeve
they just had one....
8:54 hahahah
Phantom shouldve beat the Cavaliers outta the top 3
Not to bring you down or anything, but everyone said that about BD last year, and Phantom took it from beneath them all sneaky-like. Not to say that Phantom will win again, but just that a LOT can happen during the season, no matter how good or bad a show looks now.
watch 2003 blue devils. im not a blue devils fan and i love that show
if you watch that years dvd... he actually hits himself in the face, hahaha
SCV, their best show ever.
Phantom easily had the best music.
@Dwindleman these videos are straight from DCI his opinion doesn't reflect in the vids because he didnt make them
Was spirits opening hit out of
That prediction didnt work out so well ;)
who was the dci champion 2007
What does phantom call that move at the end?
XD wow
