Tim Noonan that's what makes hannum's writing so underrated! I'm glad you agree. I think he connects rhythms and sets the atmosphere perfectly with his methods of notation and shaping.
2013: had potential but cleaned the slowest, unfortunately. Not bad though 2014: was good. I dont have much of an opinion on 2014 but it's crown drums so they did great 2015: tuning was eh, but still one of my favorite lines, and i feel it was underrated; it was beautiful and badass, and it was straight *fire* *. 2016: was professional and clean and tasty. Not to say that the other years weren't professional, just that this line was absolutely tight and i feel it stood out in its own unique way. 2017: I agree with the judge's tape that the music didn't reflect the drumline's full potential but still was a very impressive book. Clean as per usual and creative. 2018: Holy shit. Dude. This is the turning point of crown's percussion reputation. Makes me wonder how they'll do by the final performance at the Lucasoil stadium. I love this theme and the emotion conveyed by the whole line. It's so fitting for the performance and i think they're absolutely gonna dominate. *pun intended
HydrAquas 2007-2009 were solid years for their drum line, early call I know but I think we have the top 3 lines set for 2018 scv/BD/Cavies - crown 4/5th
braydin jones Have you seen Spring 93?? One of the cleanest shows ever put on the field, that being said this line here is better and more experienced than a high school line, but spring were flawless in 93
I love crowns uniforms this year. And they’re still Crown uniforms too as in someone can easily look at their uniforms and go: that’s Crown, unlike blue Devils and blue coats wtf
One scale of one to noticeable, how extreme is that right hand slice from center snare? What does it say about the sound to aesthetic ratio in DCI? -Inquisitive CrownAlumni
David Fisk well they aint gonna stop using the term because it's described (sometimes) the place where the drumline warms up for such a long time now. It's also used in wgi.
Thank you for using a World Class mic. It sounds surreal!
I like the space between the notes, and how much of it there is.
Hannum killing it as usual.

Let's also give Travis some credit to the writing too. He definitely has a huge influence on their sound.
@@markklaich253 clearly. It’s been a 100% different drumline since his introduction!
Absolutely astounding.
Wow I'm absolutely IN LOVE with the tuning of their drums this year. Crown drums are coming for blood this year.
Ok but why is no one talking about Phil‘s roll quality at 1:17?
I literally lost my shit over this, it was amazing
New uniforms without their shakos making them look like a wgi group
seems like every world class corp is doing the same
johmar ///////// Evangelista wait...this isn't WGI?
Kumquat agree
We were warming up....?
2 bands at the championships I went to this weekend had a tarp on the field and just looked like wgi groups.

matt od crown has been placing first in drums at their competitions so far
matt od imo scv didn't feel as strong as they were in 2017 for me
HydrAquas bruh 2013 was so amazing musically
crown's drums in 2014 were dirrrrrty but I agree with everything else
i was there, they are very intense and loud this year!
The tuning of those bass drums has me in love, definitely one of the tightest drum lines ever
Nice and clean like Spring 93- still one of my favorite shows ever, clean as the park for a high school line
Don nix are u saying this is a high school line?
braydin jones Have you seen Spring 93?? One of the cleanest shows ever put on the field, that being said this line here is better and more experienced than a high school line, but spring were flawless in 93
Don nix gotcha just misunderstood the comment my bad.
braydin jones crown looks really tight musically for mid-late June, I think they will have something to say in who wins it all in August
Don nix yeah i agree they've really conquered some milestones this year.
I love. Ppl say the uniforms are going to shit but I love the orange streak floating above their hats. I also am in love w the opener
Those drums look soooooo sick
Tuning is on point. So fresh and so clean!
really cool to see how the book changed over the season
best gokz in dci 2018
These shots can kill people
I love when it echoes
What mic are you using for this audio?! Beautiful.
Zoom H4n, sometimes we use the H1. Both are great for recording drums, front ensemble, and brass.
That was very good.
1:50
Looking and sounding a lot like MCM for me, in the very, *very* good way.
Hot damn.
Deeeeeetrooittt Basketbaaaallll
I liked when they used clear tape. I wonder why they stopped using it
What happened to their 5th tenor player?
crown can actually drum!
I’m not a drum guy but hot damn they came for blood this season.
Why are the shots so loud! 😲
Fade xChaos A combination of relaxation and velocity
Pavement and the building behind them certainly help
Fade xChaos Crown and Crossmen always have the loudest rimshots by far
Killing it
Crown is in first for percussion so far. This is a weird year.
Stephen!
#Godzillapantsband
Nice
What’s the youngest you can be in WGI?
who got the sheets
Yeah OZZY!
I love crowns uniforms this year. And they’re still Crown uniforms too as in someone can easily look at their uniforms and go: that’s Crown, unlike blue Devils and blue coats wtf
BD always looks like bd tf?
One scale of one to noticeable, how extreme is that right hand slice from center snare? What does it say about the sound to aesthetic ratio in DCI? -Inquisitive CrownAlumni
Straight 10 my guy!!!
Straight 10 my guy!!!
Straight 10 my guy!!!
Straight 10 my guy!!!
Straight 10 my guy!!!
Why does this whole thing sound like a cadence
Is it me or does drum four sound out of tune on those quads
Stop using "in the lot", like it's some secret club or something.
David Fisk it's a term used to describe the warmup before rehearsal or a show.
"Carolina Crown drumline warmup". That's all you need. "In the lot" just sounds dorky any more.
it’s been called in the lot forever
It will always be in the lot.
David Fisk well they aint gonna stop using the term because it's described (sometimes) the place where the drumline warms up for such a long time now. It's also used in wgi.
Worst crap to come out of DCI. The majority of the entire organization is putting garbage on the field.
Stephen Smith Thanks for your opinion
Did we ask?
