Thanks for your service brother. And I'm not a veteran, but I did purchase an operator cap and put our flag on it along with the Christian flag, got the patch from" righteous grunt". I wear it to support the veterans and also to show my allegiance to God and my country.
I always thought that if the flag was on the front, a hat or on armor that it should be facing the normal way because it never seems to be retreating like it would on the sleeve. Doesn't mean I'm right but it's what I always assumed. Anyone else thought the same? I remember the guy who started Grunt Style, he was a drill at Benning. Good guy.
Appreciate the video and your service to our Country. I don't understand the facing forward flag on a hat. On the sleeves it always made total sense to me. If you were carrying the flag it would wave behind you. The hat thing almost led me to doubt myself on the true meaning and history. I am not a veteran, but I am a proud American and always a supporter of our troops. I have stayed away from wearing more flags as I am always afraid it is a bad look for someone who was not in the military. I am starting to rethink that though. I just need a shirt that says I am not a vet, I just support them.
I wear the stuff mainly because they are usually veteran owned companies and I want to support my fellow veteran. And I agree completely, as a veteran, I love civilians who wear the stuff and support veterans. But Seeing a hipster rocking a pair of skinny jeans, acu blouse and a blue chord makes me want to choke him out with it lol. Basically, I'm all for it if you don't have to earn it
As a Prior Service USMC and US Army Veteran (1987-1998, with 1 Year and 4 Months in the Army National Guard ( ARNG ) and US Army Reserve ( USAR) ), I have, and continue to wear, US Flag 🇺🇸 Operator Covers ( called " Headgear" in the Army and Air Force, and " Hat" by Civilians) and Combat Shirts with Tactical US 🇺🇸 Patches. Even on Armed Forces Day, Memorial Day, Army and Marine Corps Birthdays, Independence Day and Veterans Day, I tend to wear a Woodland Camouflage or Desert Camouflage Pattern M81 BDU " Raid Mod" Combat Blouse with Forward and Reverse US 🇺🇸 Patches.
My Brother in Arms thanks for the great video; for me I am 11Bravo from a time long gone, drafted into Vietnam and made it back. I am a proud Veteran and Patriot. Love of country and love of our flag. I proudly wear all sorts of shirts and hats that says just that. 50 yrs ago in Nam and still there. In VA system and wife my wife (3rd) my life has been saved. Welcome Home my Brother. ray, 4th ID, 1st, Btln 22nd Inf

firefighter/emt Andrew Hurst Go for it man! I served 1 tour in Iraq and loved being in the Marines. You learn to love and care for others besides yourself. You also learn to work as a team.
Get youe NREMT-B or P before you join. If you can in as an NREMT paramedic, you can try out and go out Special Operations as a Medic. You will be fast tracked through the Civilian portion. You can even go Medic instructor especially if you come in as a BLS instructor.
Go for it the pride is something very special. You can travel the world get rich get an education be with many woman but this will set you apart forever!
great video Mario. for those who haven't had the honor of service, the stars on the flag always face forward because they're held in the highest regard so it's worn (reversed) on the right side and (forward) On the left hooah
That's right. A flag held by a standard bearer in a charge would have the wind created by his forward progress blow the stripped side back leaving the union facing forward. The opposite orientation would imply retreat. Americans never retreat!
I wear alot of Under Armor gear because of the sweat resistance and odor. I toned down alot of the Veteran stuff, because there is alot of anti Veteran sentiment here in NYC. I gotta keep my head on a swivel.
I served 68/72 navy helicopters...I’m 70 now and still wear military b.d.u. Especially shirts and jackets and always the hats,I do because I earned the right to show it ....I’m proud to be an American veteran ! Like my shirt says.....this is my flag...if you don’t like it,.. I,ll help you pack ! Good vid brother..!
I'm not veteran or American but I love American flag attires. I wear em too because I think it's beautiful flag, beautiful history & respect to you sir.
The flag on the uniform signifies that you are moving forward toward the enemy. It's supposed to mimic the flag waving behind you as you carry it into battle.
Huh, just because you were stationed stateside at ft Carson in Colorado Springs doesn’t make you detailed or attached to 10SFG at all. They have their own POGS doing shit work. So this guy says he’s 11B.. so 4th ID .. just claim what you are, nothing wrong with that.
I think the flag would look better on the side of the hat instead of at the front. It's just too much. No disrespect intended.Perhaps a small unit or service insignia would go well at the front.
I'm a vet and I have a lot of my clothes in either khaki /tan, od green. simple colors and what not but when I saw this...I had me a patriotic boner. hooah!
First of all, it’s called “Assaulting Forward”, not “Facing forward”. And if you were truly a combat veteran you would know that the flag patch on your multicam hat is Incorrect!! It is “correct” and proper to wear the assaulting forward flag patch on your RIGHT shoulder so that it is “assaulting forward”. Hints the reason all of your “tactical shirts” have the “assaulting forward” flag on the RIGHT sleeve. It is not proper to wear an assaulting forward flag patch anywhere on the front of your uniform. But you already know that, right?! Lol So let’s make sure you are “displaying it properly” there bud!
It's actually disrespectful to use Old Glory as a fashion statement. Not insulting your fashion sense but Stars and Stripes should never be used for fashion. I find it revolting to treat a flag of a country like it's just a thing to be worn.
@@mario3804 I'm not Antifa nor am I moron but what I am is a man that treats the flag with more respect. Just because fashion or society says it's okay that doesn't mean it is. I'm not trying to be an asshole or start something I'm just saying the flag should be treated with more respect and should not be treated like a fashion statement. To call me anti-American is preposterous and asinine. "STOLEN VALOR", that's why. Leave that "swag" to the operators, who don't dress like that anyway.

I agree, last year when one of the kids in my class kneeled during the flag (I was 14 I woulda got away with it lol) I about jacked him up.
Except when the guy rocking skinny jeans has those type of skills:

Rock That Shit Mario Mosin!!! Thanks For The Video. OOH RAH!!!
What's with the backwards flag hat?
I would honestly just wear my old cover if I served and retired

so how exactly were you attached to SF units?? bc its clear you're not a SOF operator in any capacity

@mikeyb byekim please tell us how your able to identify a "real operator". What characteristics help you to classify sf?

Band of Brothers was about the 101st brother
Mario Mosin I think so because of landing behind enemy lines can't be shot as a spy and to tell locals we arrived. Considering we just dropped in lol
+ScottyM1959
They. Not "we". THEY just dropped in.
Falou muito sobre outras coisas e não disse nada exclarecedor sobre os operator caps...
What brand is the multicam hat?
CONDOR

You just need to love America, that’s it.
How do people in the military feel about civilians wearing those hats?
💪🏽🇺🇸
It’s just a hat with a U.S flag on it lol 😂get over it
Should be called “Why veterans wear the THANK ME FOR MY SERVICE hats.”
2nd!
Always!
1:05 they were them bc they want to be identified as veterans
Not true fucking moron!
Heeeeeeeeeeeeyyyyyyyyyyy
mmmm hmmm

This guy was never in military espically [SF] no way .
You clearly didn't have a clue. Clear display of your ignorance.
Cuz baseball caps are the only hat that makes sense. If I were in charge I’d ban all the stupid berets
Shame on you, seems that you made it to the top and demanded our soldiers to stop using their nice berets... 😢

If you don't believe me look up American Flag Law.
To be specific it's 4 US Code § 8
From the United States flag code -
The flag should never be used as wearing apparel, bedding, or drapery. It should never be festooned, drawn back, nor up, in folds, but always allowed to fall free.
Let's Learn The flag code is referring to a flag that goes on a flag staff.
Yes you can’t wear a literal flag. A flag design is authorized
