I sat down outside after feeding my birds, and there you were. My heart jumped, and my smile could not have gotten wider. You teach, you inspire, and you help me to be thankful...I'm so grateful. Your folklore stories I relish. The piece of heaven you live in helps me appreciate my little courtyard. I had good health news yesterday, and my relief is overwhelming. Thank you for ending another day with your words and faith.
Gail, I am smiling to hear your reaction to a new video!! That make my heart so full. But what is even more joyful is hearing about your good health news!! Praise God!!! Sending you hugs and blessings this day and always!!
Thank you for your kind words. Admittedly, I feel many times like I am not making sense. But I keep trusting God and say a prayer when I make these videos public. Thank you for coming to the farm!! Blessings to you!
You may not have felt so inspired at that moment, but I found this video inspiring for me, both spiritually, and also thought of...hazelnut coffee! Thank you, Pastor Donna.
I am laughing because I, too, was thinking about hazelnut coffee. And when I began grinding my hazelnuts, well the electric grinder got too hot and began bringing out the nut's oil. What I was left with was a paste that smelled like Nutella! :) Life is always a messy adventure with me. And I am grateful to hear this episode was inspiring. I was struggling a bit! Blessings!
Good morning and thank you. You are blessed to live in a beautiful place. The outdoor scenes are so inspiring. I love your messages of hope and goodwill.
Thank you...and I am so glad I get to share my happy place with folks like you. It is a joy to bring you along on my adventures. Many blessings to you!!
Hello Pastor Donna, just wanted to make a few comments about this post. I love how long Fritz was in the picture. There’s a part of me that thinks it was for me, oh the ego on me! I did enjoy seeing him though. There is a site on RUclips that you have to check out. It’s called “Squirrels at the Window.” A woman leaves her window open and the squirrels go up to it. They sit on an air conditioner stick their head in and she feeds them a variety of nuts. The real funny thing is her cat is right next to her but he stays put. I almost forgot, she has names for all these squirrels. I don’t know how she can tell them apart. I look forward to your next video. Many blessings to you!
Yes, when Fritz is in the video I do think it is because he knows he has a friend like you lookin for him! I am going to check out that "Squirrels at the Window" as it sounds cute! Blessings.
Thank you Pastor Donna. I am going through a rough patch at the moment, but the sun is shining outside. I need to look for all those signs that God is looking out for me
I have never heard of nutting day and was glad to learn about it, as I am with all your stories and videos of the 17th century. May you have many more God moments as the summer fades into fall. God bless you!
Nancy, I was so excited to learn about Nutting Day, too. The legends and folklores are so fascinating. I love sharing these tidbits with you! How's the fall foliage by you? It is very dry here in Vermont right now...I am afraid the leaves are just going to fall off the trees without having a chance to really come to life with color. Blessings to you!
Thank you! I am so glad that you enjoyed this episode. I have to admit, I really enjoyed nutting and was so glad to take you all along with me. Blessings!
You thought you had nothing to share, but your message and video came at exactly the right time and I believe were Godsent. As I learn to live a life with cane and nightly oxygen I was resentful today mad that I can’t do the things at 77 that I did at 47. You reminded me today that every season is precious and though I may lose some things along the way, if I look I see that I’ve also gained gifts I wasn’t ready for earlier in life. I think in the coming days I’ll go for slow walks in nature and I’ll think of your hazelnuts and Holy Rood. So from one Donna to another - thank you!
I am so glad you found this episode to be a blessing. I am trying hard to see my life through the lens of faith...turning the things that I cry over and lament into blessings. It's not easy. Some days I just bawl my eyes out over what has been lost. But God does make all things new. I pray you enjoy those walks, enjoying all the love notes in nature that God has left for you. I am holding you in my prayers this day and always. Thank you for being part of Olde Stone Well Farm! Blessings!
Thank you Donna. Lovely to see you splashing in the puddle all carefree 🙏😊 The garden looks picturesque especially with the red deers. The summer ought to hang around, it didn't show up in the U.K until the end of July 😄
I am so glad you enjoyed this episode. Yes, the summer ought to hang around here, too, as it was a dreary, rainy one for us. But after three weeks of heat and sun, today (Sept. 23) it is cool and crisp. Many blessings to you!
Hello Pastor, your outfit is gorgeous! What a fun yradition, "nutting day". I think people still do this tradition, whether the knowledge of nutting day or not. I gather nuts every fall, just for the fun of it. Your hens look so healthy. Glad you look to have completely recovered from lyme disease.
I love hearing that you gather nuts in the fall. It is quite fun! And that is one of my favorite dresses...so comfortable. Yes, my remaining two hens are doing well. I do miss my other girls, but trying hard to keep these two safe from the fox. :) Blessings to you!!
First, welcome to Olde Stone Well Farm! So wonderful to have you here! Especially having a former Vermonter with me. I am so glad you will be able now to visit when you want! Blessings!
Good to hear from you .thank you for another interesting video ai never heard of a nutting holiday your cake sounds so yummy I would love your recipe please.🥜🥜
I am so glad you enjoyed your time with me here at Olde Stone Well Farm! The cake was yummy. I hope to share it in a future video. For now, thought, here is the recipe: Forager's Cake 1.5 sticks butter ¾ cup sugar 3 large eggs 1 and 1/3 flour + 1/2 tsp baking powder ½ cup roasted and coarsely ground hazelnuts ½ cup blackberries Prepared 8" spring form cake tin. Heat oven to 350F. Cream the butter and sugar, then add the eggs little by little, mix the nuts, flour and baking powder into the batter. Fold in the blackberries last of all and put into the tin. Bake for about 45 minutes until a skewer comes out clean.
Thank you!! I am so glad to hear that. I just love sharing pieces of my life with others, it is especially a joy to share new traditions that I discover! Like Nutting Day. Who knew? Blessings to you!!
Your videos are such treasures! I share your love of Jesus Christ and the reverence you give Him. May your coming Autumn days be blessed by His gifts of the changing of leaf colors and the crisp, cool days, and more nuts!! 🌰 . 🍁🍂🙏
Thank you. That means so much to me, especially as this was an episode I almost didn't make public. For some reason I was being ultra critical with myself. So glad I decided to ignore those pesky inner critics. Blessings!
September 14 was my mothers birthday. I always make her favorite on the 14th, applesauce cake. Btw, the old calendar says Autumn starts on Aug 1st, because we’ve gone from the growing season into ripening and harvest. Aug 1st through January is my favorite time of year.❤
What a beautiful way to remember your mom. The applesauce cake sounds delicious. And the Aug. 1 start date to autumn makes sense as that is Lammas Day...a day of starting to harvest the wheat. Love that! Many blessings to you!!
This is my first time here. I don't know how you popped up on my RUclips. I am so glad you did. It was just what I needed today. The past 6 months have been in turmoil with moving from a beloved place to be nearer to family, and I seem to be disheartened with life and growing old. Most importantly my Bible has been staying closed. Your video reminded me to appreciate my winter years especially in Autumn, my most favourite season here in Britain and to open my Bible for appropriate uplifting verses. I am off to watch the leaves turn and fall and at the same time plant some winter colour. Thank you xx
I am so glad the Spirit led you to Olde Stone Well Farm. I just love how God works, always providing us with what we need (a wink, a hug, an unexpected word of hope and solace...) Life is not easy. But Jesus promised us peace amid the turmoil. May you find that peace this day and always! Blessings to you!
You are welcome!! I was excited to share Nutting Day with you as I never knew about it myself. I learned so much, too. I love sharing with you and taking you along on my adventures. Blessings!
Dear Rev. Donna, Loved your video! I also LOVE hazelnuts. I put a bowl of mixed nuts out at christmas time, just like my mom did as a child.. Thanks for all the history of the nut and the cross. Time does go by so quickly doesn't it?!!! York pumpkins are beautiful ❤ Glad ur chickens are safe from that Ole fox!! Happy September., enjoy your farm and all the beauty and harvest❤ Phyllis from central PA

Thank you!! That is my prayer always. A little inside insight for you...before I publish each video I go out in the woods for a walk and a chat with God, praying that that what I put out there blesses others and gives God the glory He deserves. Thank you for watching!! Blessings.
What interesting history you always share. I am learning from you. Thank you! I love the little " love notes" from the bee and the caterpillar. From God. I took have eyes that see hearts in nature!
