I love that you made the squirrel noise!! Love the connections you drew! Taking that a step further, when you were talking about working alongside your father in his workshop, I thought how we are working alongside our heavenly Father when we do our small part to help build His kingdom. Of course He's the Master Builder, and we look to Him for instruction, but He graciously allows us to be part of His building process, not only in our own hearts, but in the hearts of those with whom we share the Gospel.
Thank you! I am so glad you enjoyed this episode. (And the squirrel impersonation!) :) And I love what you shared on how our Heavenly Father is right by our sides as we work to build His kingdom. How beautiful! What a great image to carry with me today! Blessings.
This video really spoke to my soul. I have been praying about this very subject lately. Your videos speak to what's in my heart. I copied the builders prayer and will meditate on it as I will the scriptures you mentioned. Thank you for this message it was spot on today. Blessings.
That builder's prayer is a wonderful one to meditate on. I am so glad I got to share it with you!! There are always God moments all around, whispers of the Divine speaking to us...even when taking a timber framing class. Keep your eyes and heart open. I join you in your prayers. Blessings!
Pastor Donna, what a beautiful experience you shared here, with us! To be in nature, with like-minded folks, working together on this monumental project,....wow!! I love the history that you shared here. Thank you for your message. Jesus's hands tell a story, indeed. Beautiful experience for you, I have no doubt. I love New England. I was born in Connecticut, moved to West Virginia in 2014, where I am now. But, New England is a beautiful place, the lovely Colonial styled homes, with candles in the windows....warms my heart. ❤ Thank you Pastor Donna! Have a wonderful rest of your holiday. Take care. God bless ✝️.
I am so glad you enjoyed this episode. I had originally planned on getting away and really taking quiet time without filming. But there were so many God moments that I just had to share. :) Yes, New England is beautiful...so is West Virginia. I often find myself thinking of a rustic cabin in WV. Blessings to you!!
Happy Sunday! I check in with God everyday at my prayer time. I am retired and still not sure what God is calling me to. I stay open minded to help others in my day to day comings and goings. I still wonder if this is what I am to be doing.
In Matthew 5:13 Jesus says we are the salt of the earth. Commentators understand this as a call to influencing and preserving humanity for the good. This would be a daily call for all believers, and it sounds like you are already following that call! ❤
That is wonderful that you check in with God daily! Sometimes our calls are not clear, but God is still directing our steps. I have found that when I am not sure of God's plans, I try my best to remember that it's okay not to know. The uncertainty is part of the journey. On those days, I try my best (sometimes I don't do a good job...thus, "try") to slow down, surrender, be still and know that in God's time more direction will come. Many times I feel like the most important step in our walk of faith is exactly what you are doing...staying open minded. Blessings to you!
@oldstonewellfarm At the end of the Chaplet of Divine Mercy we pray..with great confidence we submit ourselves to You Holy Will which is Love and Mercy itself. That brings it all together for me. BLESSINGS!
That color on you makes your eyes look beautiful we took Holly Hobby to give to my niece when she was born in 1984 she turned 40 yesterday we live in Michigan and have gone to Greenfield Village for decades also to Mackinac Island it is so peaceful only bicycles are allowed
My husband said the same thing on how that dress matched my eyes. I have always wanted to explore Michigan. I have heard lovely things about Mackinac Island. Thank you for coming to Olde Stone Well Farm! I am so glad you have met you. Blessings!
I had forgotten about the bake oven. I, too, wanted one!! (I never got one either!) I also remember how I wanted another one her Holly's friends...I think the doll's name was Carrie. I never did get her. I just had Holly and Heather. I am so glad to hear someone else remembers this time in our lives. Blessings to you!
Wow, it's an exceptional experience with not only using your hands but so much more, our mind, our senses. Ty for sharing it. Oh yes, Holly Hobby is still one of my faves. Indeed, hands are such a beautiful thing for us, literally and metaphorically, to comfort us and to heal our souls. Thank you, Pastor, for the great reminder of doing God's work for His Kingdom...
It was indeed an exceptional experience. Very grateful I had the opportunity to take this class and to share with you the God moments! (And it seems there are a lot of folks out there who remember Holly Hobbie! Love that!) Many blessings to you!
Thank you Pastor Donna needed to watch this. We have had very strong wind over the last few days and this morning I woke up with a large tree fallen down in my backyard. Not good, but at least it never crashed into the house so it is OK. The wind is not going to blow hard forever and I can get through this.
Praise God that tree didn't crash into your home. Wind can be terrifying. I know I now get very anxious when the winds howl. I am so glad to hear all is well with you!! Blessings!!
Thank you for your wonderful message I just love your teachings. I Love your teaching about your hands and that are hands are like Jesus hard working 🙌 ❤❤
I am so glad you enjoyed this episode. Yes, that thought about Jesus' hard-working hands was a powerful one for me as I looked at my hands all cut up from the timber framing. Many blessings to you!
I am so glad to hear that. It always amazes me (and humbles me) when I hear how these messages reach people at the right moment. And now, let me take this time to thank you for being part of this community! Blessings to you!!!
A beautiful analogy, Donna. I actually feel that a lot of things around me, both metaphorically and physically, precious and not so precious, are breaking down, in good and bad ways. And I see it a test for me, to help me see what is really important in my life, what I can mend, and what I have to let go of. Sometimes I've been really upset but always I accept it and move on. And sometimes the unexpected happens: I lost a special ring, it dropped onto the floor and then totally disappeared! For about 6 years! And then it just came to light yesterday as I was cleaning, where I've cleaned many times before, tucked under the skirting board. I'd given up hope of finding it, thinking it had fallen through the floorboards but there it was! And some things are destined to be always be with us, no matter how much we've moved on or outgrown them, or not own them anymore! Thank you, Donna, and, yes, I remember Holly Hobby too!
Oh my gosh! That is AMAZING how that ring missing for six years or so finally came to light. Yes, some things are meant to be let go of...some things we lose...some losses break our heart...and some things we can mend or some things we can't. But through it all...God is with us. His grace helping us to find that peace, to embrace the memories and to begin again. And then there are those days that what has been lost is found! What a wonderful story. Thank you for taking the time to share it with me! Many blessings to you!
What a lovely memory of spending time with your dad in his workshop. I did as well (was his shadow). I handed him carpentry tools as he named them, explained their purpose/how to use and maintain them (in Spanish). And, when safe enough, would allow me to give it a go. When I go to Home Depot I inhale deeply as I pass by the lumber (reminds me of him). Oh how I wish I could turn back the clock to spend just a wee bit more time with him. Your message about Jesus' hands...beautiful. What you share in your videos is just so...thought-provoking, inspiring and, at times, convicting ;)
That is a beautiful memory of working with you father. And I love how you breathe deeply the smell of the wood when you go to Home Depot. I will do the same the next time I am in that store! :) Many, many blessings to you!
Thank you Pastor Donna for this truly inspiring message. We do get so wrapped up in doing and dreaming that we sometimes neglect quietly listening to Jesus and letting Him make us more like Him.
Thank you! I am so glad you enjoyed this episode! Yes, I often preach to myself in these episodes as so many times I get so consumed in doing that I forget the beautiful power there is in just being...being still before God so that I can really listen and live that life He has for me. It is wonderful having you part of this little community! Many blessings to you!
I can't say enough how much these videos comfort me . your voice is so calming and knowing that you have a heart for God makes it all that much more comforting . I don t feel like I'm wasting my time . I feel like I always come away with knowledge I didn't have before. Thank you .
Thank you!! Your note gives me the boost to keep producing these episodes. :) I just love sharing all the things that I learn and sharing all the God moments that make my heart fill with joy or get me pondering more deeply. It is just one little way of sharing hope and love in this world that needs more hope and more love. Blessings to you!
What a wonderful experience and lesson for us. To build a structure or our lives is working at it every moment. I am facing a procedure on Wednesday, and my faith is inconsistent. So many times, I feel I should be pessimistic, so if I receive bad news, I'm not shocked. I so wish to be at peace when I reach out consistently. So good to hear and see you, Donna
Gail, I have been holding you in my prayers. I hope this greeting finds you well...and that a peace that passes understanding is filling your heart...along with lots of love, trust and faith in our great God who is with us always! Many blessings to you!
Surprisingly, rope beds and feather mattresses are very comfortable. At least for me...my husband might disagree. ;) Yes, Heather was introduced shortly after Holly...and then I do believe there was another doll added to the collection. I think her name was Carrie. I remember this because I wanted the third doll, but I never did get her. :)
Hi Pastor Donna just wondering how you are and when your next message is coming I do miss your wonderful stories. I hope you are well. God bless you bless ❤❤
Shortly after Holly, they introduced another doll, Heather. I remember there was also a third friend introduced whose name was Carrie. I remember because I wanted her as well, but never did get Carrie. :) And, surprisingly, rope beds and feather mattresses are very comfortable. Well, at least to me. My husband might disagree. ;) Blessings to you!
I loved this! God wouldn’t let David build the temple because he was a man of war not necessarily of his own making but still not the king of peace that Solomon was. Isn’t it funny that the only thing Solomon asked for was wisdom and even that didn’t give him a heart for God as his father had. You would have thought wisdom would be the key. So our hearts to be after God’s own heart is truly the key to building His kingdom as much as we can here on earth. I liked the slow building process that you took part in. We have talked about me being a seamstress before and in the sewing world if you do embroidery, it’s all about embroidery machines where you just program the pattern in and the machine (noisily😂) does it all for you. Not me, I love to sit on my screened in back porch or on my couch and embroider by hand. I would feel no accomplishment doing it by machine. Takes longer but more satisfaction for sure. Blessings to you as always.
Yes, you would think wisdom would be the key...it really makes you stop and think. And I love that you embroider by hand. When I fell down the quilting rabbit hole a few years ago, I purchases a sewing machine. I used it only a few times, preferring the quiet prayer time that stitching by hand provided me. There is something to be said for embracing the "slow movement" - slow cooking, slow building, slow sewing. :)
I wrote to you on your last post. You started to talk about old houses and Timber framing but I guess you didn’t see it. I said that there has been a show on television called “Barnwood Builders.” You probably don’t get that channel but there are episodes on RUclips but just look at the shows that were HGTV otherwise you might get garbage from people. I have even done that kind of work (before I got hurt). I helped out an Amish family in Pennsylvania. I saw an advertisement on an Amish magazine that I read. Very tough work, we worked everyday from 5:30 am until 8:30 pm. I didn’t get paid, it was just something that I wanted to do. I didn’t hear or see Fritz in the video, please pat him on his head for me. Blessings to you and your husband.
Oh my gosh. I thought I pressed send as I did reply to your last note. I wrote that I was familiar with that show-and love it!! :) I will write more tomorrow. It is late here in Vermont and I need to get Fritz out before bed. Fritz sends his hellos. :) more to come!!!
I have seen a few of your video's and I really enjoy what you share. But I do have a question, do you live in this time period always or just when you are making these video's? I'm sorry if what I'm asking is wrong or the way I asked is wrong. Why I am asking is because I like these and enjoy what you are doing (as I said), but I have seen others video's and they only live in the time period of there video's for a period/sometimes, or I guess when they do there video's. Again I am trying to learn, and wanted to ask you. I do remember Holly Hobby, but never had the dolls, but I did have her as earrings and a colorform set. 😊We have a lot of squirrels here to and I listen to them and the sounds are makes are kind of a kind of screaming sound. I love to listen to them. Thank you again for sharing all your video's I am going to listen to more 💜🙏
Good question!! And I so glad you asked. I have always wanted to live in this time period and so as I child I would do my best to create it! I used to set up my little rocking chair in front of the old radiator in my childhood home, making believe it was my fireplace. :) Oh, and I, too, had Holly Hobby colorforms! You just brought back a wonderfu memory. About five years ago, I fell down the rabbit hole of living in the 18th century. I realized that I could do my best to recreate such a life with the clothes I wear and the cooking utensils, etc. So I found period correct clothing and fabric and patterns from companies specializing in authentic recreations. I do work from home most of my time, so I have the luxury of dressing how I want to dress and living in my 18th century world. Of course, modernity does creep in...like when my husband comes home from work and wonders if we paid our electric bill because the house is all lit by candlelight. He then turns on all the lights. Sigh. I do have many simple classic dresses that I often do wear while running errands. So I straddle both worlds, but find myself carving more and more time to live more the 18th century way, which is kind of ironic when you realize that my first career was a fashion reporter/editor who lived in Manhattan. Yes, I traded in my stylish heels for barn boots and 18th-century footwear. The twists and turns of life can be strange, but I believe we much embrace the very things that bring us to life. And so, yes, I do spend a good amount of my time living like this...not just when I am filming but every chance I get. :) Great questions!!! Blessings!!!
@@oldstonewellfarm Thank you for telling me all that and that it wasn't to much to ask. I also love different time periods (the one your in18th century but also, 1920-1940, but also A Christmas Carol time period ) But I wouldn't know how to go about making a change, (house, clothes, and all) If you have any youtube or other ideas that can help me to do this I would love to hear it. Thank you again for everything and can't wait for your next video.
I hear you. Where do we spend most of our time & energy. We should spend more time in attaining kingdom values. But wouldn't it be something if indeed you build the chapel & imagine the followers of your channel attend to worship in person😂. Just a thought
Oh I love that idea the chapel on Sofie's Hill actually being build and inviting all of you to attend worship in it...either in person or virtually! I am dreaming again!!! :) Blessings to you!
Mother Teresa is now St. Teresa of Calcutta! :) Beautiful posting. I'll be checking out the website for Eastfield.
Thank you Donna,
The teamwork involved was lovely to see.
The squirrel impression was spot on 🤗🙏
Ah...thank you! I wasn't sure if I truly captured the sound of the squirrel. ;) Blessings to you!

Hi
Hello!!! :)
