    If memory serves me correctly, those old blue Harvestore silos were glass lined and, as such, might lend themselves to conversion to water storage. You might be able to store rain from the wet season for summer use.

    Dad was a cement finisher for decades. He taught me that if you're going to pour over top of existing concrete to clean the surface and add a bonding agent (pours/looks/works like Elmer's Glue) to the old before pouring. You get a better adhesion of old/new. Hoping you find water back in the well. With the amount of rain you folks have had this year, there should've been some recovery with no use of the well in a while. Go git'em Dusty! Nice to see ol' Thor livin' the good life at the folks' place.

    Expansion from water freezing is like a hydraulic jack that has no control or way to stop it. If the tank seal is going to last the ground under the tire must be dry to avoid the ground freezing and heaving the tire tanks and breaking the seal. A nice concrete pad is more ideal for freezing ground and dealing with frost problems. Good luck, like the tire tanks. ✋

  • @DarrellBlack-qy7hf
    @DarrellBlack-qy7hf 27 дней назад +3

    Dusty if the concrete starts to leak again, you might get a waterproofing from one of the big box stores. It is painted on and dries to a form a waterproof membrane that will flex when the animals bump into it. It is used to waterproof behind tiles in a shower and it's not really expensive. Just a thought.

    That's the farmer way we' did most water tanks too, entire bottom level. We used far bigger tires. Local rock quarry would let you have their old huge endloader and Euclid truck tires. Euclid tires were 8-10 feet tall standing up, quikcrete wasn't an option. Built a half tank trailer out of a narrow gage railroad tanker car, 6 axles to haul when the cement trucks couldn't get to a new install watertank. Water expansion in seepage during the winter doesn't break the concrete like it does against the sidewall of tire, wheel rim of tire, center of tire gives and retakes where your concrete now hits rubber.

      Too much between the bulls. Big Joe has Hoss under him, and keeping a field between the dominant bulls. Plus fields at OG need management. Not enough room at Ponderosa for 3 bull herds. Genetic diversity needs management of the 3 bulls. Dunbar was at OG for years and can be OK there. In a prior video Dusty said Eleanor will be going with Dunbar, plus more division of cows.

      *Accepted* They are two completely different words!!!
      Doesn't anyone know how to spell anymore? How do you reach adulthood without knowing the difference?

      @@Rumkitty2000 You're right. I did misspell the word. My question to you is...how did you get to your age and still be so judgmental? Before I hit my very advanced age I used to be a very good speller but now I do tend to blank out and spell what I hear. In the grand scheme of things it really doesn't matter. God loves me whether I spell correctly all the time or not. He loves you as well!

    11:10 What are the chances that the bison will knock the supply valve off?

      There is always a good chance for sure. Hasn't happened yet. But I need some protection over them for sure

      @@CrossTimbersBison I was thinking about a wire cylinder that extends upward with a 1/4" extention. The rise would poke their nose.
