I really hope that you bring Eleanor with Dunbar. She really needs to be in a small heard and Dunbar can be there to comfort her. Eleanor is very special and needs to be handled with care.
I know you will make the best decisions.
Was just going to comment the same thing. They belong together. My favorites!!
I do believe that Dusty has put sweet Eleanor back with Dunbar already.. She was so sad after losing her calf, and all the other mommas were having their red dogs, so I'm sure l heard Dusty say she is back with her original beau which of course is the mighty Mr Dunbar..🇬🇧💕🙏✝️👍👏🦬🦬🇺🇸
@@kimmarievan-ever6599 Yes, they are together at the Ponderosa. Would be great if Dusty kept them together when the move is made back to the OG.....guess we'll see!! Was wondering the other day where Nora is now. Anyone know?
My 34 YO grandson put a new well pump and bladder pressure tank at my house but it took quite awhile to get it fixed all last week. He had never done anything like it before. I really appreciate having water.
If memory serves me correctly, those old blue Harvestore silos were glass lined and, as such, might lend themselves to conversion to water storage. You might be able to store rain from the wet season for summer use.
First responders are magical...that makes him Magic Mike to me. Much respect to all first responders!
Well I wouldn’t say MAGIC Mike, but manly Mike fits good.
Old cast iron bathtubs would have been perfect water troughs
Cast Iron will rudt!
@@Rumkitty2000
They are covered by enamel. Pretty hard to find anymore, but the newer (tho not in use in homes anymore), rectangular shaped, metal covered with enamel tubs also work well.
Saw a rusty old 1 for sale the other day, $3,000!
@@MsSilkeen
Not surprised. They began to be harder to find, and more expensive in the 70s.
Dad was a cement finisher for decades. He taught me that if you're going to pour over top of existing concrete to clean the surface and add a bonding agent (pours/looks/works like Elmer's Glue) to the old before pouring. You get a better adhesion of old/new. Hoping you find water back in the well. With the amount of rain you folks have had this year, there should've been some recovery with no use of the well in a while. Go git'em Dusty! Nice to see ol' Thor livin' the good life at the folks' place.
Latex bonding agent.
Hope your well is full of water😊❤❤❤❤
with the Bison stepping into it I was thinking of putting some steel into the concrete to make it tougher. I'm afraid it will crack on the edge of the old concretedisk in the middle.
Glad that Dunbar is coming back home. Hopefully you'll bring him some ladies. Hopefully you'll get the well house pump back up and running and got the tire waterer fixed.
Love how your friends always pitch in and help when they are visiting. 😊
ALWAYS fun to Hang out with you all....GOD Bless KEEP on Bison Ranching and THANKS for sharing
Dusty, If it still leaks, you might try that fix all "flex seal spray" and spray the whole inside with a good coat.
You art keeping Dunbar right he's not going to be going to the freezer camp your animals are so amazing I wished a lot of younger generation want to learn more about Buffaloes❤
He art
Welcome to the Bison Loving Family Mike!😊🦬
Curiosity will always draw the Bison 😅🦬💜
The Ranchin Way is the Only Way!😊😁🦬💜
Hope You Continue to get a little rain every day or so to keep the droughts at bay!🙏🌦🦬
Hope you get the water issues resolved soon!🙏🦬💜
Keep Bison Ranchin Dusty! 🙏🦬🌦🌸💜
Dusty, you should put 2" of bentonite clay under the concrete so it can seal up any leaks that happen. There is a USDA guide on building tire tanks that shows the bentonite below the concrete
Dunbar will be home alone, actually there will be some ladies hopefully. No more fighting between Dunbar and Big Joe.
Lol 😂 in Canada Saskatchewan, we call it the farmer's fix Dusty.
l saw 40lb holding on well gauge so that means you have water in that well......Thanks Dusty and Mike 👍
Old F-4 Phantom ll fighter jet pilot Shoe🇺🇸
Wish u would mention ur cabins if y'all still have them...
Watching you mixing cement for that slab took me back to the days I used to help my husband mix bags of cement in a wheelbarrow with a shovel for foundations under headstones at the cemetery. Finding the way that works best for you by trial & error is how you need to do it. It worked well for you!
You should put those fly traps in with the bison.the flies are terrible
I remember all the work you did putting those tires in the pasture for water to the bison. It was a real chore.. I was amazed, Dusty. We learn by doing..
Hi dusty, it is nice to see you and your friend Mike
You should look into the capabilites of Flex Seal. It can help with leaks also.
Expansion from water freezing is like a hydraulic jack that has no control or way to stop it. If the tank seal is going to last the ground under the tire must be dry to avoid the ground freezing and heaving the tire tanks and breaking the seal. A nice concrete pad is more ideal for freezing ground and dealing with frost problems. Good luck, like the tire tanks. ✋
Dusty if the concrete starts to leak again, you might get a waterproofing from one of the big box stores. It is painted on and dries to a form a waterproof membrane that will flex when the animals bump into it. It is used to waterproof behind tiles in a shower and it's not really expensive. Just a thought.
Dunbar and Eleanor, hopefully 🙏
Get like 3 bags of thin set per tire and just pore it over all the old concrete and put a bonding agent it bonds old concrete to new. But looks like this is going to be too late. But next time use THIN SET. 👍👌👌
Hi enjoy watching from Texas
Dusty get you some bentonite to stop tank leaks. It's what cole and brian sonne used on there tanks.
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE great Pyrenes!!❤❤❤
I'm in delaware and I was told by animal control that you have the right to protect yourself and your family from any dog attack. I'm proud of you. Protect yourself and your family.
Thanks for the video. Hope the water well works for you.
I need some Eleanor ❤
If this doesn’t work, you can always try that flex and seal stuff they show on tv. ❤😀
I’ve used flex seal in my tire watering troughs. We get down to zero here in the winter. Flex seal has held up
Use some of the liquid flex-seal as seen on TV Easier to apply and probably less expensive at a Walmart.
Thanks Dusty,peace brother…
I wore my bison shirt yesterday. I love it thank you.
Maybe, seal the old tire, it's self, before adding the concrete ???😮
Thanks to all of our first responders. We are grateful and in their debt!!!
😂 magic Mike in the house 😂❤yesss Dunbar u take care of him buddy
Cant wait for more videos with the og place and the Ponderosa.
Thanks again for another awesome video I really enjoyed it and as always I'm really looking forward to seeing the next video
Kevin I bet will love Dunbar back. He'll keep him on his toes
Hello Sir,
Perhaps you could cover your concrete with a layer of bituminous paint which has the particularity of remaining elastic at all times. This is just a personal idea that I experienced on a roof that was leaking despite several repair attempts.
Kind regards
Henry
They make stuff called hydrolic concrete that can be mixed up and pushed in cracks. It exspands as it dries. Exselent crack filler
Love and enjoy watching your videos. May the lord bless and protect you and your family and Mike and the bison and other animals and getting water.
Thank you magic Mike, you are awesome 💯
Hey there dusty have you ever Ben to Montana there is a retired baseball player hew lives in molt Montana and he has a huge herd of buffalo
Hi Dusty, doing the tyre, on the OG, did the gold fish in the tractor tyre, freeze as well? Not meaning anything mean, just that he had an interesting life.
They eventually disappeared 🤷🏻♂️
The Rooster!!!!!!
what about using tar (bitumen) to seal it, it doesn't set hard so is flexible, just a thought
Thank you, Colorado Mike, for your service to Colorado Springs. We are out here in Peyton!
Brings back memories of when I had a well, esp in the❄⛄ winter. I had to put a heating wire along the ❄⛄hoses.
❤ Always good to have good help.😊
Hi Dusty, Marissa and Brooks. Welcome Colorado Mike. Great video Memories being made Great yall are fixing the water system God bless and love yall ❤❤

Flexseal might work
Heya, Dusty! Gonna say it again: you gotta hire a water witch, a water dowser. If there's water, they'll find it.
I don’t understand why the well drillers only drill (from what I have noticed) 120 ft. in central USA. Here in Maine many are 200-350 ft. Deep.
Whatever happened to Eleanor’s bull?
I know it was there with the processing bulls but I was thinking you were going to sell it.
I’ll admit it is hard for me to think about the processing so I don’t!!! I love Bison so much. I’d love to be able to come and see your ranch firsthand. I know that it’s don’t but if ever is I will make sure to make it up there. I’d LOVE to pet Big Joe!!!
Keep on Bison Ranching 😊
Eleanor's son went to be a herd sire up north, maybe Nebraska? He was a good looking bull with a lot of her mellow traits.
do you ever "rake" that shedding "hair" off the bison and sell it?? - people could use it for all kinds of things ... one of them is pet bedding
Good luck getting close enough and it doesn't come off at same time.
@@regenesteffen2814 you haven't watched much because I have seen where they have had to put the bison in "stocks" (I think that is what it is called) - not an everyday thing I agree - and other times they have gotten close - you don't have to hug them to get the shedding fur/hair
I bought a knitting kit that contains some bison hair, to make a cowl. I'd think that it could be harvested when the bison are being worked while they are in the squeeze shute.
@@sueostergaard8691 bingo! squeeze chute was the words I was looking for
Tractor tire is a good idea. for those Bison can drink water
If hes a fireman, thats MAGIC MIKE to us! The true magic mike ❤❤❤❤ 1:02
Could you maybe use an Aquarium Silicone Sealant for the cracks? It should be safe for drinking water, flexible and cold resistant... maybe test it out?
I'm a Colorado Springs Fountain area, Native. Tell him he can't stay there!!!
I love it when a teacher talks out his butt when he doesn’t know things.
Hi Dusty
Hv your cap!
What about that stuff they call quick seal. They drill holes in a boat and go out in the water and it don't leak. I don't know... maybe. 🤷♀️
Flex seal is the big one in infomercials
@joywebster2678 yes that's it!!
Ohhhhh are the goldfish OK ? 😮😮
Nice vid
What happened to the new pasture area you spoke of getting ready to lease? Did that fall through?🤔
My first Army duty station was at Ft. Carson, in Colorado Springs. I Loved it. Love you guys, Prayers and GOD Bless!!!!
Are you sure you should not let the water tires go dry?
Concrete soaks up whatever was left
Love you all so much! Continued prayers! God bless ❤
You need to have someone come and witch for a well for you. It's worth a try
Dunbar and his lady Princess Eleanor will be home again.🥰 Maybe she can have a successful calf that she won't be bullied away from. 🤞 Blessings 🙏🫶🙏🫶
Magic Mike can't live to far from me. I, too, live in Colorado, east of the Springs
DUSTY, great video. Hope your well has water in it for a long time and all goes well. How is the other water line coming along?? Take care and have a wonderful weekend. David B.,Utah. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🐕. How are the turkeys eggs doing??. Any baby's as of late. 💞💞💞❤❤❤.
❤❤❤❤❤
That's the farmer way we' did most water tanks too, entire bottom level. We used far bigger tires. Local rock quarry would let you have their old huge endloader and Euclid truck tires. Euclid tires were 8-10 feet tall standing up, quikcrete wasn't an option. Built a half tank trailer out of a narrow gage railroad tanker car, 6 axles to haul when the cement trucks couldn't get to a new install watertank. Water expansion in seepage during the winter doesn't break the concrete like it does against the sidewall of tire, wheel rim of tire, center of tire gives and retakes where your concrete now hits rubber.
Have you ever have to cull a bison because of aggressive behaviors
Thank you for the update !
Thank you for sharing your videos! I enjoy them!
Dusty please believe me, the roads in the UK are exactly the same. I've heard that a few drivers have been lucky and have been able to claim for damage to their car. Our Highways Dept havw now realised that it'll be easier to mend the roads than have claims coming in from all the drivers.
I'd have to say hydraulic cenment is what you may have wanted to use in the water tanks.
Good luck with the water tank
Question regarding orders: Do you ship UPS/ FedEx or just the USPS? Need to know for what shipping address to use. Thanks
Hi Dusty!
Where are the 2 Goldfish that lived in the Water Tank, for the past few years, down the back between the 2 Pastures at the OG.
Luv your Videos.
From Melbourne Australia 🇦🇺
Do it whatever you want
Concrete Slab
How come you have had any tanks for a cistern? It's been a wet year.
Well done...glad you got it fixed....just wondering why you parked the truck so far away and you guys had to carry those heavy cement bags over to the tire.
Dusty said the ground was soggy. Probably from the tank leaking.
Why is Dunbar and family coming back?
Too much between the bulls. Big Joe has Hoss under him, and keeping a field between the dominant bulls. Plus fields at OG need management. Not enough room at Ponderosa for 3 bull herds. Genetic diversity needs management of the 3 bulls. Dunbar was at OG for years and can be OK there. In a prior video Dusty said Eleanor will be going with Dunbar, plus more division of cows.
Rotational grazing I think. And a distance from Big Joe
Just curious do you castrate the meat bulls? I don't think you have ever saidif you do.
This reminded me of the gold fish you had in one of the tire wayerers. I assume they have finally all died off.
White buffalo calf born at Yellowstone Tuesday hoka hey Hoka hey
Looks like Cora has finally excepted Morgan!
*Accepted* They are two completely different words!!!
Doesn't anyone know how to spell anymore? How do you reach adulthood without knowing the difference?
@@Rumkitty2000 You're right. I did misspell the word. My question to you is...how did you get to your age and still be so judgmental? Before I hit my very advanced age I used to be a very good speller but now I do tend to blank out and spell what I hear. In the grand scheme of things it really doesn't matter. God loves me whether I spell correctly all the time or not. He loves you as well!
❤❤

It's called a slab
11:10 What are the chances that the bison will knock the supply valve off?
There is always a good chance for sure. Hasn't happened yet. But I need some protection over them for sure
@@CrossTimbersBison I was thinking about a wire cylinder that extends upward with a 1/4" extention. The rise would poke their nose.
