As much as I liked Dr. Hibben--he was my anthropology professor--he was busted in the late 1970's as a fraud who had a grad student plant "artifacts" in a cave in the Sandia Mountains. While he didn't "discover" the artifacts--he let two visiting anthropologists find it in the cave Hibben claimed to "believe" that the "Sandia Man" might have lived. The grad student exposed the ruse many years later, causing Hibben, then Director of UNM's Anthropology Department to be fired. If Hibben was involved with this "discovery" I'd be leery of reading too much "history" into it...

And the cliff dwellings near Silver City NM are built in the same style as homes from around the Time of Knight Hurock in Whales that's in use to this day..Also the inscription on the cave says " Here lies Welsh Knight Rough Hurock FOR POWER AND GLORY!"

There has always been people here.
Atlantis was everywhere including North America, until the Great Flood.
Those left over after the flood were eventually wiped out by the Siberian/Asian peoples, who apparently crossed the Bering Land Bridge, who were certainly not the "Native People".
The Hopi stories tell of the Burning to death of the Red Haired Giants, in Nevada's, Lovelock Cave.
This is but one of many Indian stories, of the annihilation of the peoples, who were already here, from the Americas.

I respectfully disagree with that theory. That land was inhabited by natives. They were not conquered until around that time. There's just no freaking way Hebrew people could've traveled so far inland without being killed or at least stopped by many groups of indigenous people. What's more, there are no accounts of interactions with natives and Hebrews. Add to that the fact that it looks like some unscrupulous person grabbed a rock and started graffitiyng away at that stone and you end up with mud on your face.

Of course it's real. The first mention of this stone was during the gold rush in the 1800s. The local Native Americans, friendly, showed it to the setttlers passing through. They asked if these folks knew what it meaned.
My wife and I visited that stone 25 years ago. At that time, it was in pristine condition.
There was also a colorful detailed panel next to this stone painted long ago showing a ship with people. What you have not mentioned is a second stone nearby, farther up the mountain, with inscriptions and a star map. After trtanslation, it tells quite a story. This site was commerated to King Soloman. The star map provided the date of when this site was commerated. It is likely ruined by now, too.
This site is unique and important. It is such a shame it is unrecognized by our "educated scholars". Obviously anything outside accepted archeology is labeled as a "fraud" by these agenda whores. Now, though it should have been and should now be protected, this important part of history is ignored and left to vandals.

You know, I visited this stone, back in 93. When it was on Huning Ranch property. This isn’t the original. Back then, it was wasn’t just a small stone piece, the inscription was much bigger, on a more permanent piece of that mountain. It was about 16 ft tall and when viewing it, one couldn’t touch the top from the ground.
I encourage you or anyone interested in this area to find a book written by a man named David Deal.
He wrote the book with the express permission of the Huning Family. His book, he claimed the mountain was a stronghold with outlooks at all four corners. The writing was defined as “Paleo Hebrew” a right to left style of writing. In his book he reached a very clear definition of the stone. The one there is NOT what was there in 93. It’s clear to me after a revisit in 2008 that the original was destroyed by some type of removal attempt.
The name of David Deal book is “Mystery Rock”
That book shows the original and was a copy of the Ten Commandments.

In Utah there is a Phoenician-Libyan Inscription saying "five warriors are buried hear", above a looter pit. It is over 2,000 years old and well patinated on a boulder near the Green and White River confluence. Near by is a spectacular petroglyph of a conquistador made by a Ute artist who's attention focused on the stirrups and the horse, but which shows the helmet clearly. He is followed by a Padre in a long flowing robe, both on horseback. The horse looks like it has whiskers like a cat! You can tell it is an early Native rendition of Spanish horses and riders. The horses are elongate. The Zuni share several words and symbols with Ancient Phoenicians including the word for fish. A Minoan alphabetical inscription was found entangled in the roots of a tree as seen in an 1896 photo. It was impossible to have faked as no one understood Minoan script at that time. The Old Copper Culture of Michigan goes back 8,000 years and there are 1,000 prehistoric copper pits. The Michigan copper has silver in it and artifacts show up in the Old World with this geochemical signature. Prince Maddox of Wales visited America and likely joined the Mandan, mostly now extinct of smallpox in 1832. Lots of good evidence of pre Columbian ties coming to light. Nice video

One of the primary rules of historic preservation is that vandalism, unrepaired, promotes continued vandalism. If you do not remove graffiti it will attract more graffiti. What you have right there is some 10,000-20,000 year old graffiti enhanced by some nearby 19th and 20th century graffiti.

I'm a local land steward here in New Mexico and have visited that location dozens of times. I usually stay away this time of year, cause of snakes. I hope you visited the south side petroglyphs. A little more history, 2007 is when they used a grinder to take out the top line, and in 2011 a Helicpter from Kirkland crashed just below the Alter stone on top. Thats why there's a big pile of quarried rocks at the base. Thank you for respecting the site. Went there with my 17 year old son in 2007 just the day after the first line was chiseled off the boulder.. there was lava rock all around the base of the "mountain" and in many areas of that region.
At the top of the climb was a "u" shape stack of hand and foot sized flat rock looking like a Hebrew Alter for a burning wood sacrifice. Laying on the top of the side of the alter facing the path used to climb to the top was a pare of wire rimmed glasses. My guess was they belonged to the villain that chiseled on the rock at the bottom. As we circumnavigated the outer edge of the volcano's top it was clearly evident there was only ONE way up and that same way down. But, it was also evident by the size of the rock all around the rim and down there were crevices where someone could easily hide. The top was not flat and was like a beautiful green pasture. We could just barely make out the parking area where our vehicle was. To look down from the top was an incredable sight. We also looked at the slabs of rock on top where people over the years had carved their names and dates, which is illegal today. From the base where you begin the climb you could tell it was an ancient volcano with no top and the way up was the fissure where the lava flowed down. It was an incredable experience and I highly recommend it. Go to the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque to get permit at DNR Office.

Paleo Hebrew , the Bible speaks of the Diaspora, the Northern Kingdom being dispersed all over the world. That is what this is. Two kingdoms, Southern, Judah, and northern, Israel, whereas Judah stayed in the Middle East and Israel was dispersed to other continents. The Ten Lost Tribes of Israel did this. When Jesus was asked by His disciples why He came He said "For the Ten Lost Tribes." , the dispersed of His people. They were here, still are.

I came across something similar in a neighboring state. One theory surfaced that these were actually done by and somewhat the job of Mormon scouts prior to moving to settle an area. I've read of other occurrences. At some, the same characters are used but not in forming a word... just some here, some there. At others, they were assembled like we'd expect, in a row, forming a word, but the word was nonsense unless it was intended that way. Who knows... Unfortunately, in some cases those more contemporary inscriptions were done over the top of much, much older works, their potential significance now completely lost. Much like the library of Alexandria... it's how it goes throughout human existence.

I have often wondered if they were utilized as lookouts and early warning stations for settelments in the valley. The river would have allowed for large scale farming back then, as it does today. The river would have been probably no more than 5 - 10 miles from any of these points.
