what make me feel more secure is when I'm facing towards the rail or box instead of facing out gives you way more confidence in the trick.

Braille is awesome, used to skate a bit growing up.i wish this channel was around when I was a kid! I really appreciate a video channel that makes me wish I was a kid again.
For any skater trying to learn krooks, the best way is to approach the fun box, ledge, or rail and get into a backside nose grind and practice those so you get the feeling of sliding with your front truck with nose pointed down and it will help tremendously with learning to pop out. Once you're comfortable with those start trying to tweak it out a bit so you can start getting the pinch of the krook. And since you practiced nose grinds when you get to the end force the pinch back up onto the coping so you can pop out. It'll take a lot longer if you just start going straight into the pinch of a kgrind and starting out like that 9 times out of 10 the board will flip out of the grind since you're still in the pinch

this (nose crook) and drop ins are the tricks im currently learning this video helped a lot but i find a good practice step is do a crook while not moving next to a ledge so you can get the motion down

one thing I love about skating ( for me at least ) ...whenever you learn a trick...its like each person has their own instinct and way they go about doing it.... everyone has their own fingerprint in skating. i just started skating and when i try to do a pop shuvit my body turns completely any advice?
to me crooked grinds were one of the easiest grinds i could do. learned in on a small box first try.. but was able to do it on a box about the same size as they were trying in the video

I think that ledge was a bit too high for Justin to learn crooked there cuz he had a hard time getting on top of it but I guess it worked even though it woulda been easier on a lower ledge

It's a kind of "holy grail" for me now. 'Cept now I'm 49; it may not be such a great idea to attempt now, at my age. 😅

Mow some lawns, or help out neighbors with odd jobs save up $125 and you can get your own board. Nothing is free in this world kid, get used to it.
