Took me a minute to realize this was a marathon. I started guessing the first few dishes and thought I was really clever until I remembered I had seen this episode before LOL
One day, when I have great-nephews/nieces, I'll replay an old Jeopardy episode and look very smart, but knowing what they're likely to be like, I'll have to do it before they start Kindergarten.
Thank you for giving us marathons and pulling from your back catalog. I know they probably aren't your favorites anymore but would love to see a marathon of your 10 year old vids too. You should be so proud!
I’ve seen all these when they first aired, and now it’s 1am and watching the marathon because that’s how good it is! Love the series!! And so many dishes on my list to try and make at home!
I hope the team is relaxing when these videos are released. It is more then deserved for providing us with all this free content. Thanks to you all for making the cooking journey and life more wonderful. ❤🎉
Thank you so much for doing this series! It’s always fascinating to see and hear about food from around the world Also, thank you for featuring one from the region I’m from. It was part of the live show, so I’m proud it got featured in such a big event!
Global Street Foods, Breakfasts, Christmas, Easter, and Ingredients From Around The World are my absolute favorite formats on the channel! And I get such a kick out of how much Barry loves doing these. 😄 Sorted has sparked my global curiosity and the Sidekick app has given me a way to use ingredients I was afraid of trying, simply because I didn't know how (i.e. miso, harissa, etc.). 😋 Thank y'all for all of the edutainment y'all have given us over the last 14+ years!! Much love to you Boys and the whole Sorted team!! 🤗
Some day in the future at the Sorted Pub - "Welcome, our specials this week are all the dishes we once featured on Global Street Food, what would you like to order?" Me - "YES!" Waiter - "Ah the Spaff Special, they'll start arriving soon."
Easier way to remember: When Messrs. Lea & Perrins first made it, the smell was so horrendous, one exclaimed to the other, "That's not only the worst thing I've ever smelled, it's worster!" To which the other replied, "It's Worster, sure."
This is such a fun and educational series to watch. I feel like yall enjoy every step of the process - right from research, to cooking it up, to eating it and then making a guess... Its all new and exciting 😊
It's no secret that all of the normals are big foodies, but I wonder if they would still have been foodies if Ben hadn't hated their food habits and written simple recipies on beer mats way back when XD If not, then Ben is the one fully responsible for changing their future, for better or worse? We'll never know ;)
Except that's not what happened. They were complaining to him about their awful diets. That's why the basis of the channel is helping people eat better and not be afraid to try different cuisines. But each of them brought specific talent to the team and persevered through the startup, while working a regular job. I'd say it was a group effort.
You guys should try Navajo fried bread. I grew up in New Mexico, and remember as kid, my parents driving us hours just to get Navajo fried bread from a stand at Four Corners (where New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, and Utah meet). I was confused why we were driving so far for bread, lol. They had traditional Navajo fried bread, but my favorite was the sugar coated.
Thank you very much for another "Marathon" video ! Its amazing how much content you are giving us. I love your work and your channel, and I cant believe how much great, funny, entertaining and interesting content we get from you.
Global street foods is still one of your best “segments” Interesting, informative & inspirational. And better than the stuff with pain and suffering:-))
The marathon vids are more compressed than the regular ones, I understand why but :( love your stuff, I think I've seen ... all.. of your vids? at least since the last 5-7 years! Thank you, always!
these videos are always such a joy. i hope someday the street food of my alma mater, the fat sandwich, makes it onto a video because it will cause so much confusion and also just feels like the perfect food for the normals.
In fairness to Barry - that cake slice is called lolly cake in New Zealand! and at home in sunny Manc my friend's mum made it and it was known as jigsaw cake
Okay I don’t know why I didn’t caught this the fist time around. But the “15” just unlocked a memory of an old colleague brining that into work every time we finally convinced her to. Now I kinda need to make it tbh 😅
Would Australia be seen as the “country of origin” for a halal snack pack though? Or would it be seen as something that has been adapted/adopted by Australians through its migrant population? A bit like England has absorbed curry into its cuisine as one of their most popular dishes? I would be really interested in your answer 😊
Started watching sorted randomly..then on one random street food challenge you fetured katogo..even my self was wondering that in no way were they featuring a dish from Uganda....you should have seen me sharing this video to my family members...thanks guys
I would love to see you guys add graphics to show the different countries, to illustrate where the dish is from, and where the guys guess! But watching these videos has made me really interested in finding online quizzes to help me learn where all the countries are, on my own. 🥰 There's so much to learn just based on the dishes that you guys present in these videos!
@@clarissagafoor5222 haha yeah, but it was a experience. With all the announcements and warnings, it's very safe unless you yourself decided to be silly and go outdoors.
@@clarissagafoor5222 That's unfortunate, it rained lots during typhoon as well haha. That was a part of the experience. My family is from Hong Kong, I can speak fluent Cantonese. 很高興認識你
I haven't seen doughboy or clam cakes ( like are made in Rhode Island USA) poncit ( as made in the Philippines) , or clam chowder( white one) or seafood chowder. Again the way they would in Rhode Island or Massachusetts.
I'm from the Netherlands, but partially from Indonesian descent . My favorite (street) food my grandmother made was Lemper. But I love Spekkoek aswell. Here in the Netherlands because of the shared history with Indonesia, it's quite common to get both at Toko's (shops) and Indonesian festivals (Pasar Malsam).
We were recently in Iceland and my two favorite Icelandic dishes were 1) plokkfiskur - a mashed potato dish with cod throughout and topped off with toasted rye bread and 2) happy marriage cake - a rhubarb pie! We went to New Zealand, and as Americans, we were quite confused by the Kiwi Burger - your standard cheeseburger with a slice of beetroot and an egg. It even made it onto the McDonald's menu! But, I did love a Hokey Pokey - ice cream consisting of plain vanilla ice cream with small, solid lumps of honeycomb toffee.
I'd love to see a compilation with your reactions and commentary alongside. Let us in on the behind-the-scenes secrets, the failed attempts, the ideas or jokes that you almost included but didn't. It would also be great to see the food team preparing some of the dishes that end up under the cloche.
Weirdly I was just talking to my kids the other day about when/where I met their dad. It was a famous restaurant called Bobs Big Boy (not sure if it was outside California though). My ExHb LOVED their chili spaghetti with cheddar cheese and onion on top. I was introduced to French fries and mayonnaise I know it sounds nasty but it is delicious. Also, my Gma, who was German, made sticky rice and mixed with butter and cinnamon (I had it last night). Nothing to crazy and do not know the origins but it is childhood to me. ❤
A street food recommendation: Maple syrup (it has to be from Vermont) and a cheap dill pickle over snow. It's a constant feature at Vermont winter festivals, and it would absolutely bewilder everyone eating it.
All this food looks amazing, but to be honest I'm mostly intrigued by this drink, I would love to try it. If you looking for more street food I recommend polish "maczanka krakowska". It's history is dated to XIX century. (some people think its "pre-burger, & burgers were inspired by this sandwich) Nowadays it is a bun with pulled pork, or with pork shoulder slices. Maczanka (much-ann-kah) comes from the word “maczać” which means “to dunk”. That’s why it’s very important to dunk the roll in the sauce before putting the meat onto it. (If you want to try it there's many recipes, but I would recommend also using porcini mushrooms because polish people really love mushrooms ;) )
Fell in love with Ethiopian food first time I tried it when I was in college, and my brother took me to a really nice Ethiopian restaurant. Unfortunately, Ethiopian restaurants are not easy to find in western North America, and I’m rarely able to indulge. I’d love to see them exploring this.
I would like to see you try 1 type of food but variations from other countries and guess them. Also, I would like to see a marathon where where it's done in 1 sitting

Even just cycling through them would be a great weekly special idea. Though maybe a bit excessive cost wise for a eatery to do.
