@@thirteendigital341 Mike has a palette close to my heart, good simple food celebrated well. the boys do a great job with the fancy and luxury food, but for Mike I think they just needed to do these homecooked meals to the absolute highest standard. and why did they serve him fish

Kush is a born teacher. I always love how happy he seems when the "normals" know stuff and leading them to answers to try and get them to think for themselves.
He sounded genuinely excited when Jamie nailed the consommé. That's a man you want teaching you.
You can tell he's used to working in high end teamwork kitchens. He's got a very natural leadership that just comes out of him among cooks in the kitchen.
If this was a contest, Ben got the rewards but Mike got the win! He worked almost independently on the dessert and Ben scored it the highest! Well done, Mike!

Mike needs a massive shout out for the dessert - he pretty much made the entire thing himself where as Jamie had HEAPS of help. Well done Mike!

I love how Kush is just telling Mike what he wants him to make and giving very little directions and feedback. That shows Kush has great trust in Mike’s ability. ☺️
I gotta say, I love how Kush works in the kitchen with the normals, almost like he's gentle parenting them 😂 he has a very wholesome and helpful energy!

Kush is such an incredible human. He’s ridiculously talented as a chef and hilarious when digging at the normals, but also super wholesome and supportive when guiding them through stuff
Love that Mike's dessert got the highest marks
I really enjoyed this, it has that same goofy questons set up but the fact they were genuinely trying to impress Ben and aim at the things he loves was really lovely. Also it was nice to have Kush helping Jaime and Mike in his own gentle way. I liked not having the time pressure on top that often make the guys frantic and Kush get laser focused, blend everything, chuck sauces in pots and bread straight on a hob. Sometimes cooking food for your friends can just be wholesome and nice!

I came here to comment this same thing! I've really liked seeing the boys push their skills a little harder in the past couple episodes too. It's nice seeing how far they've come where even the chefs are acknowledging them

I love how mischievous yet deeply affectionate the dream menu videos are. Like they're so cheeky, but they're also 100% built from how much they care about each other as friends.
I can't believe Ben didn't pick up on the bay leaf in the cocktail! They add so much!!
And nobody mentioned that "Basil" in the cocktail could have been another nod to "Barry/Baz"

I totally agree, and I think Kush, Jamie and Mike really created Bens dream menu !
Mystified as to how Kush manages to be so wildly more skilled than the normals without ever being patronizing. Like, he could have done all of this by himself in the same time, but it genuinely felt like a team effort. Love it.
You’re right! He comes across as a truly natural teacher who genuinely wants to encourage and gently lead people to learn and understand how ingredients work. You can see from his reactions that he seems to take joy from watching the Normals pick up new stuff- like a parent with young kids. It helps of course that the Normals are just as eager and open to learning. That’s what made this such a good watch.
Trust me simply because you can do it, doesn't make it pleasant but really stressful to manage that many pots. I used to occasionally knock over a pot by its handle.
Kush guiding and teaching Jamie and Mike (but particularly Jamie) was such a nice moment. When Kush is not in chaos mode, he really shines as a teacher/mentor

Something Sorted viewers may want to watch. Ben will be appearing on the next episode of "Ainsley's National Trust Cook Off" - Episode 9. They'd mentioned that Ben had been cooking with Ainsley Harriott during the "Washed Up Weekend" & I checked Ainsley's & The National Trust's websites the other day. It should air in the coming week on the UK's ITV.

Have to say, I really like how Kush speaks to the boys when they're working together. Very direct, but very complimentary. Exactly what you need in that (and many other) environment.

I love the care the guys wanted to take with the menu for Ebbers. It reminds me of the first time you cook for your parents at holiday.

I'd love to see a dream meal of some of the behind the scenes staff! Some of the names we hear all the time but don't see on camera often. If they're okay with being on camera / being filmed for the episode. Get both chefs involved in it too so its extra special!

I think one of the questions that should be asked is "Cylinders or Cubes?" Knowing how Kush tends to be all about presentation and classical knife work, I think it'd be fun to see how everyone else might tackle the different cuts that could be done.
Looked delicious, and it was a delight to watch just seeing Kush enjoying himself so much in the cooking. I think I could watch Kush cook all day.

I might try this for my wife. She doesn’t watch the show so would have zero idea about the purpose of random questions.
I love that Kush was 100% confident that Mike would get things done by himself with only some suggestions, whereas Jamie needed additional support. Loved that Ben (unlike Mike) had them seriously trying to make a dream menu for Ben.
I know Kush is next, but I SINCERELY hope that #JusticeforMike is still coming for us!

What I greatly enjoy about this format is, that it allows for combinations of things that the recipient usually wouldn't think of themselves. And yet almost every dish that is served hits the spot. Even for someone as particular as Ebbers.
